Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed to assist a user to view image product designs at a graphic user interface. The method includes displaying an image representation in a page view at a graphic user interface, allowing a user to select the image representation in the page view, displaying a navigation panel in association with the image representation in the same page view, allowing the user to make a first selection in the navigation panel in the page view, displaying a first product design in the same page view according to the first selection, allowing the user to make a second selection in the navigation panel in the page view, displaying a second product design in the same page view according to the second selection, and removing the display of the navigation panel in the same page view when the product designs are deselected by the user.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed for a user to view image product at a graphic user interface. The method includes displaying an image representation of a multi-page product in a page view at a graphic user interface, allowing a user to select the image representation in the page view, enabling display by a computer system, in the same page view, of a navigation panel in association with the image representation, wherein the navigation panel provides a plurality of selections each associated with one or more pages in the multi-page product, allowing the user to make a first selection in the navigation panel in the page view, displaying first one or more pages of the multi-page product in the same page view according to the first selection, and removing the display of the navigation panel in the same page view when the multi-page product is deselected by the user.

Abstract: A computing device implementing a browser application with an add-on toolbar may provide for customization of the visual appearance of the toolbar. The device may receive a configuration file describing a visual appearance of the toolbar. The configuration file may be stored locally at the client device. The configuration file may be validated to verify that the configuration file is a valid file for changing the visual appearance of the toolbar; and the configuration may be update the visual appearance of the toolbar to correspond to the visual appearance described by the configuration file. In another possible implementation, a theme for a graphical element of a web page may be distributed as a configuration file that can be distributed as a link that can be placed within the link to used to reference the web page.

Abstract: Methods, systems and computer programs are presented for generating media tabs for playing media files of various websites or applications. One method includes detecting a selected website through a browser and scanning the selected website to identify media files. For identified media files in the selected website, the method creates a media tab for association with the browser. The method generates a unified set of media controls for the media tab, where the unified set of media controls is mapped to native controls of the selected website having the media files. The method provides tab rendering data for the media tab. The tab rendering data is configured for associating the media tab with the browser. The tab rendering data, when associated with the browser, enables input at the media tab to be communicated to selected ones of the native controls, without accessing the native controls at the selected website.

Abstract: In one aspect, a computing device with a touchscreen (e.g., a tablet computer, smart phone, etc.) renders an initial interactive chart view (e.g., a Gantt chart view) having a time axis and a task axis, receives user input (e.g., a pinch gesture) associated with a zoom operation, determines whether the zoom operation is one-dimensional or multi-dimensional, and renders a zoom-adjusted interactive chart view (e.g., zooming in or out on the time axis, the task axis, or both). In another aspect, a computing device renders a chart view comprising a time axis and a task row having a task name label with a directional indicator, renders the directional indicator such that it points in the direction of a task bar, receives user input associated with a change in the current position of the task bar, and adjusts the directional indicator based on the change in the current position.

Abstract: Techniques are described to implement a user interface for a display of a mobile device. In an implementation, the user interface may include a chromeless menu configured to be displayed when menu-based user input to the mobile device is available; a system tray configured to be displayed on the display when a notice containing status information affecting operability of the mobile device is available; and a task switcher module operable to cause a chromeless overlay be displayed over an active application being executed by the mobile device to allow selection of one or more applications of the mobile device.

Abstract: An integrated collaborative user interface for a document editor is provided. The integrated collaborative user interface includes a document pane, document details pane and a section details pane. Document details and section details are obtained and provided to authors. A collaborative author views the document details, section details and provides updates to a document in the document editor. Changes are then refreshed to the authors to provide a consistent and up-to-date status of the document.

Abstract: A system and method for providing the dynamic display of content and related advertisements are provided. The advertisements are displayed based on predetermined customer types. A network resource, such as Web page, can include a plurality of dynamic content modules. Depending on the available display area and additional display criteria, each dynamic content module displays a subset content and related advertisements. Each dynamic content module corresponds to an integration of multiple layers of content, such as text, graphics and image rendering information.

Abstract: A graphical user interface system is described in which users can be located at any angle. Different application interfaces can be generated on the display to appear in different orientations, such that different users sitting at different positions around the periphery of a display surface may each have an interface that is readable and accessible. The location and orientation of a new interface may be specified by user request, or may be automatically determined based on a characteristic of the request, such as the location of a tap or the direction of a swipe gesture. Interfaces may be radial in nature, and may have a central origin on the display, or at corners of the display.

Abstract: An embodiment of a user interface of an electronic device is configured to display user interface elements along a timeline. Each displayed user interface element is associated with an event that is characterized by one or more event attributes. The event attributes include a temporal attribute (e.g., a date and/or time). Each user interface element is relatively positioned along the timeline based on its temporal attribute, and each user interface element is displayed with a visual representation of a set of its associated event attributes. The displayed set of event attributes for a particular user interface element is determined based on a position of the user interface element along the timeline and/or a spatial zoom level at the time. The spatial zoom level and/or position along the timeline of each user interface element may be modified based on user inputs.

Abstract: Various aspects of the subject technology relate to systems, methods, and machine-readable media for providing a light bar for a web browser in an immersive mode. A system is configured to display a web browser in a first browsing mode, wherein the browser in the first browsing mode comprises one or more tabs and receive, from a user, an indication to enter a second browsing mode for the web browser. In response to receiving the indication, the web browser may be displayed in the second browsing mode in which the one or more tabs are not shown. One or more light bars may also be displayed in a display area of the web browser at locations corresponding with the one or more tabs. Each of the one or more light bars is associated with one of the one or more tabs.

A method of passcode authentication includes: maintaining a count for failed authentication attempts, displaying a visual representation of a current count for failed authentication attempts on an authentication interface. An additional method of passcode authentication is also disclosed which includes: maintaining a count for failed authentication attempts; determining a current authentication request invalid; determining a delay time based on the count for failed authentication attempts; and delaying submission of a second authentication attempt until after the delay time has expired, wherein the delaying submission manifests in a delayed visual feedback of user input, in a delayed processing of user input, or in an inability to enter user input for during the delay time.

Abstract: A device of promptly starting windowed applications installed on a mobile operating system (OS) provides a starting button on a mobile device running the mobile OS installed thereon to promptly start a windowed application menu. The windowed application menu can be used to add or remove applications installed on the mobile OS to be started under a windowed mode thereto or therefrom. When users press the starting button to open the windowed application menu and execute any application in the application menu, the selected application is displayed in the windowed mode. The windowed application menu includes, but is not limited to, default applications installed on the mobile OS. Execution of any third-party application under the windowed mode can be supported by the windowed application menu. Accordingly, the operational efficiency and convenience of the mobile OS can be enhanced.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a mobile terminal data refreshing method and a mobile terminal. The above method comprises: updating interface image data of a HOME User Interface (HOME UI) and/or a local top bar, synthesizing interface image of the HOME UI and the local top bar into top bar image data with transparency; and displaying the top bar image data in the top bar window of the desktop of the mobile terminal. According to the technical solution provided in the present invention, the local top bar can be easily integrated into the HOME UI to implement translucent display style, and all functions of the top bar of the HOME UI can not be affected.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to task bar management and provide a method, system and computer program product for graphical association of task bar entries. In one embodiment of the invention, a method for graphically associating a window with a task bar entry in a windowing operating system GUI can be provided. The method can include rendering multiple windows in a z-space sequence in a desktop of the windowing operating system graphical user interface and detecting a proximity event for an entry in a task bar for the windowing operating system graphical user interface. In response to detecting the proximity event, a corresponding one of the windows in the desktop can be highlighted without re-ordering the z-space sequence.

Abstract: A shared resource computing (SRC) system that provides a mechanism for creating a shared session among individual sessions is described. In an ad hoc peer model, a session is created by individual users. One individual session assumes an administrative session role and invites other user sessions to join the shared session. Local environments from the individual sessions are published and the resources of the individual sessions form linked device groups that allow the resources to be aggregated for the shared session.

Abstract: A dashboard manager can be used to create, manage and deploy dashboards. Each dashboard can include one or more user interface elements (“widgets”). The dashboard manager can be invoked for providing a variety of management functions. In another aspect, dashboards, widgets and other content can be bundled together and distributed to users over a distribution channel. Users can created custom bundles using a tool that is provided for such purpose.

Abstract: There is provided a system and method for providing an integrated environment for execution monitoring and profiling of applications running on multi-processor system-on-chips. There is provided a method comprising obtaining task execution data of an application, the task execution data including a plurality of task executions assigned to a plurality of hardware resources, showing a scheduler view of the plurality of task executions on a display, receiving a modification request for a selected task execution from the plurality of task executions, reassigning the plurality of task executions to the plurality of hardware resources based on implementing the modification request, and updating the scheduler view on the display. As a result, the high level results of specific low level optimizations may be tested and retried to discover which optimization routes provide the greatest benefits.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an intuitive method for the specification of a design as follows. A widget is added to the design at the direction of a user. The widget has an event and an event handler. A second widget is added to the design. The design is exported from a design program and an instantiation of the design is created that is capable of being rendered by an external player. Executing the event handler adds a second event handler to a second widget in the instantiation of the design.

Abstract: At least one example embodiment discloses a method for generating a touch screen display. The method includes establishing a run screen on the touch screen display, the run screen associated with a function of a work vehicle, configuring the run screen with a retractable toolbar, the retractable toolbar responsive to an action of a user of the touch screen display and deployable over a first portion of the run screen upon the action of the user and otherwise hiding to display a second portion of the run screen, the second portion of the run screen being at least a majority portion of the run screen and defining one or more transient user-definable buttons on the retractable toolbar associated with at least one of the function and the run screen.

Abstract: A method for controlling microblog display, a microblog client and a computer storage medium are described, which pertain to microblog technology. A display interface of microblog consists of a main display area for displaying microblog messages and a promotion display area for displaying recommended messages. The method includes that: a micro-blog message is acquired and displayed in the main display area; recommended messages are pulled from a microblog server at a preset frequency, or/and recommended messages pushed by the microblog server at a preset frequency are received; the recommended messages are displayed in the promotion display area.

Abstract: A method for providing a desktop management tool includes displaying an active desktop having at least one application window representing an active application; storing data representing a virtual desktop in memory; while displaying the active desktop, receiving non-menu-based user input representing an application-move operation between the active desktop and the virtual desktop; and associating the active application with the virtual desktop. The method may also include displaying, as part of the active desktop, a visual representation of the virtual desktop. Other examples of the described method also include displaying an enlarged view of the contents of a virtual desktop in response to additional user input. An example apparatus for implementing the described methods is also described.

Abstract: An electronic device displays a first row in a multitasking user interface that includes a plurality of representations of open applications. The device concurrently displays a second row that is spaced apart from the first row and includes application icons for the open applications. While concurrently displaying the first row and the second row, the device detects a first input that corresponds to movement in a second direction. In response, the device moves the respective representation out of the first row in the second direction in accordance with a progression of the first input without moving the application icon for the respective application in the second direction. When application-close criteria have been met for the respective application by the first input, the device closes the respective application, ceases to display the respective representation in the first row and ceases to display the application icon in the second row.

Abstract: A tool panel docking application is described that manages the docking of tool panels and palettes on an edge of an IDE workspace. As the user selects to dock various tool panels, the IDE monitors the positioning of each panel so as not to overlap the content of any of the individual panels making up the combined docked palettes and that allow the user to select how much of the underlying workspace is obscured by the combined docked palettes.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an input device comprising a processor, a displacement sensor coupled to the processor and a control button coupled to the processor. The displacement sensor is controlled by the processor and configured to detect movement of the input device relative to a surface. The control button is configured to open a first side panel and a second side panel on a virtual desktop of an operating system. The first and second side panel are configured to be opened when the control button is pressed and the input device is moved in a direction of the particular side panel. The first side panel is populated with a first set of one or more selectable icons for launching executable files, and the second side panel is populated with a second set of one or more selectable icons for moving currently running applications to a virtual desktop foreground.

The processor detects an input corresponding to a selection of any one of the multiple tabs and presents a user interface view associated with the any one of the multiple tabs on the display when the input is detected.

Abstract: An electronic “To-Do” bar is provided in which displayed upcoming tasks, meetings, appointments and the like. The electronic To-Do bar is displayed in a lightweight menu of tasks, meetings and appointments and is displayed persistently in addition to other software functionality or user interfaces displayed on a user's computer display screen according to other software applications or other software functionality in use. A user is presented with an always-visible list of upcoming tasks, meetings and appointments without the need to launch a separate tasks application or calendar application to view upcoming tasks, meetings or appointments.

Application window management may including utilizing one or more touch displays to manage the size and/or position of a window representing an instance of an application. Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating an input to an electronic device are described herein. An example method for facilitating an input field of an electronic device includes presenting a menu item for selection while the electronic device is in a first physical state and identifying the menu item selected when the electronic device is in the first physical state. The method includes detecting whether the electronic device is in a second physical state after selection of the menu item and presenting an input field associated with the menu item selected.

Abstract: Tabs or other display elements that do not comply with traditional “window” requirements can be individually presented to a user when the window containing such tabs or other display elements is hidden or obscured. The user can be enabled to perform tab-specific actions, such as closing a particular tab, or viewing a specific tab without interacting with the containing window. Executing processes utilizing such tabs can register them and provide order and display information. Subsequent tab-specific actions can be received and directed to such executing processes. Additional requests, such as for thumbnails and bitmaps, can be directed to such executing processes in order to implement the tab presentation mechanisms and to provide for the tab-specific actions.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for controlling a system bar of a user equipment, and a user equipment. The method includes: detecting a display status of the system bar; and when the system bar is presented on the screen of the user equipment, and the presented system bar includes a hidden button, receiving a first input used to select the hidden button and input by an input unit to hide the system bar; or when the system bar is not presented on the screen of the user equipment, receiving a second input which is input by the input unit to present the system bar. In the foregoing technical solutions, by flexibly invoking or hiding a system bar integrated with various information and/or convenient buttons, the screen can be used to display content to the greatest extent, so as to improve the utilization rate of the screen.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for performing tasks and related tasks. While a user is performing a task, a group of related tasks is presented. When a new task is selected, a new group of related tasks is provided. This allows a user to perform a series of tasks without having to separately search for each task. As the user moves between tasks, task information items are passed between the tasks so that previously provided information can be preserved.

Abstract: A framed user interface operating on a computer or similar system may allow a user to select certain interactive instances contained within the framed user interface. The user of the computer system may modify the framed user interface to suit individual or group preferences. The user may select the user interactive instances through the framed user interface and then the framed user interface may act on that selection. Once selected, the user interactive instance may be available in a workspace area for user manipulation. The framed user interface may allow for logical organization of various types of user instances available on a typical computer or consumer electronics platforms. It also may enable ready-availability of certain user interactive instances and instant startup by having them perennially loaded in a random access memory and executable without the need to be later launched or initiated from permanent memory.

Abstract: A method and system for providing menu tools directly from an operating system includes a computer system having a user interface including a display, a cursor, and a cursor control device, and an operating system. Menu tools are provided to one or more application windows. A menu item associated with a menu tool represents an available operating system function and an interactive icon associated with the menu item may be placed in a toolbar region in one of the application windows for access to the function. A special operating mode is activated for selecting menu items for use in the toolbar and making the function associated with the menu item available to the application by moving the menu item to the toolbar region. The menu item is represented as an interactive icon once the special operating mode is activated. The operating system function associated with the menu item is made available to the application window directly from the operating system by interaction with the icon.

Abstract: A robust window pane display system and method for coordinating window pane displays in the form of dashboards to assist nurses and doctors in the treatment of a medical patient based upon various medical situations. The window pane display system may be linked to a computer or computer network. The system may involve multiple dashboards for a multi-stage procedure or operation having discrete dashboards for each stage of the multi-stage procedure. A method for creating new dashboards for use in the window pane display system.

Abstract: Method and user interface for controlling an apparatus are provided. At least one dynamic bar is provided for displaying on a main screen of a graphical user interface for controlling the apparatus. Each dynamic bar is associated with respective one or more interfaces for applications and/or functions provided by the apparatus and each dynamic bar has a pop-up interface for providing at least one of preview information determined from information managed by the applications and/or functions and links to invoke said respective interfaces.

Abstract: A predictive contextual toolbar is presented that provides an identifiable region on which predicted commands can be surfaced. This user interface can be presented in cases where an indication of a request for a command (such as a formatting tool) is received, for example, while a user is interacting with a canvas of a productivity application. When conditions for surfacing a predictive command are met, the system can display an identifiable region on which predicted commands are surfaced according to context associated with the conditions for surfacing the predictive command. The identifiable region may be an extension of a mini toolbar. One or more dynamic predicted commands can be surfaced on the identifiable region to provide easily accessible, user specific, context related commands.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system or method for displaying rich presentation taskbar buttons for a corresponding application. In one example, the rich presentation taskbar button may receive content from an application through a programming interface. The present invention further relates to a system and method for displaying a rich presentation taskbar button and for displaying and/or dismissing a thumbnail of an application window associated with the rich presentation taskbar button. The present invention may further include a system and method of pinning the thumbnail on a display or dismissing a thumbnail. The present invention also relates to a system and method for displaying multiple taskbar buttons in a taskbar including controlling the size of individual taskbar buttons, consolidating taskbar buttons and placing taskbar buttons into an overflow based on the type of taskbar button in the taskbar.

Abstract: An integrated graphical runtime interface that provides a secure, highly available environment for process control systems is disclosed. In one example, a method for displaying process control information via a graphical user interface instantiates a runtime workspace application to operatively interpose between an operator station operating system and a user. The example method displays a plurality of panels via the graphical user interface and displays a portion of the process control information associated with a runtime application in at least one of the plurality of panels via the runtime workspace application.

Abstract: A method dynamically frees computer resources in a multitasking and windowing environment by activating a GUI widget to initiate pausing of an application, pausing CPU processing of the application code, maintaining data of the application in main memory, storing state information for the application code and a process of the application in mass storage, removing the application code from main memory to mass storage, when another application requires additional memory, activating another GUI widget to resume running of the application, restoring the state information for the code and the process to main memory before the application resumes running, and resuming the CPU processing of the application.

Abstract: A method for proving a quick launch access includes: acquiring position information of a Taskbar in an operation interface; creating a self-defined quick launch window, and providing a quick launch access in the self-defined quick launch window; arranging the self-defined quick launch window adjacent to a Start menu bar in the operation interface according to the position information of the Taskbar; and detecting a change of the Taskbar periodically, and adjusting a position of the self-defined quick launch window according to the change of the Taskbar. Abstract: The present specification relates to a portable electronic device comprising at least one processor; a display connected to the processor and controllable by the processor; and non-volatile storage configured to maintain a plurality of applications and an application programming interface for enabling generation and control of a title bar, wherein the application programming interface includes a private part for managing the state of the title bar and a public part that provides an interface to the applications.
