An image database contains one or more source images associated with one or more images labels. A computer may generate one or more documents containing the labels associated with each image. Analysis may be performed on the one or more documents to associate the source images with semantic entities. The semantic entities may be used to provide search results. In response to receiving a target image as a search query, the target image may be compared with the source images to identify similar images. The semantic entities associated with the similar images may be used to determine a semantic entity for the target image. The semantic entity for the target image may be used to provide search results in response to the search initiated by the target image.

Abstract: Various embodiments described herein provide systems, methods, and software to preview files packaged, or otherwise embedded, within page description language documents. Such previews may be viewed without opening a larger application typically used to view such files. Some embodiments include presenting, in a page description language document reader application, a representation of a file packaged within a page description language document and receiving a selection of the packaged file to preview the file within the page description language document reader application. Some embodiments further include selecting a utility to open the packaged file as a function of a file type of the packaged file and calling the selected utility to open the packaged file with a reference to a location where packaged file is located.

Abstract: Hybrid image format techniques are described in which multiple resolution images are concatenated to a standard bitmap image to create a hybrid image file. The hybrid image file is created through combining a relatively low resolution image with the additional images in a multi-frame format having higher resolution. The hybrid image file may contain data detectable to signal that higher resolution images are available in the hybrid image file. A hybrid aware application may be configured to detect and output a higher resolution image from the hybrid image file based on detection of the data. A legacy application that is not configured to detect the data may be unaware of higher resolution images contained in the hybrid image file, and accordingly outputs the relatively low resolution image.
