  • Patent number: 7637138
Abstract: The invention concerns a multistage press, at which within the machine-mounted clamping plate (1), an insert (3) is arranged which can alternatingly be moved in the direction towards the press plunger (2) and away from it. The insert (3) is moved up and down by a cam drive actuated by the press main drive with lifting and lowering cams (5), whose cam tracks (8a, 8b) are traced by lifting rollers (6) and lowering rollers (7) under compressive prestress. Such a multistage press can be operated with a high number of strokes per minute and has, at the same time, an excellent precision of the stroke movement.

  • Patent number: 7487659
Abstract: The machine (20) comprises: a supporting structure (24, 26); a movable unit (28) mounted on the supporting structure (24, 26) so that it can translate along a first working direction (Z) and along a second direction (X) towards and away from a stationary workpiece-carrying structure (88); a tool-carrying unit (10, 11, 12) carried by the movable unit (28); and a driving system for controlling the movement of the movable unit (28) in the working direction (Z). The driving system includes a first motor unit (60) for controlling the rotation of a driving shaft (62) and a mechanism for converting the rotational movement of the shaft (62) into the translational movement of the movable unit (28). The motion conversion mechanism comprises a cam member (76), which is rotatably mounted on the movable unit (28) and the rotation of which is controlled by the driving shaft (62), and a roller member (78) which is rotatably mounted on the supporting structure (24, 26) and on which the cam member (76) rests.

  • Patent number: 6990898
Abstract: A mechanical pressing machine includes a slider mounted on an input shaft at a location below a cam, and a sliding block and a balance weight mounted at locations above the cam. A first cam follower rotatably carried on the slider abuts against a lower surface of the cam and is biased by a spring member toward the lower surface. A second cam follower rotatably carried on a sliding block abuts against an upper surface of the cam and is biased by spring members toward the upper surface. When the cam is rotated together with the input shaft, the slider effects vertical sliding movement through the first cam follower, and the sliding block and the balance weight effect vertical sliding movement in a direction opposite from the direction of movement of the slider through the second cam follower.
