Inclined Cam (eg., Inclined Plane) Patents (Class 72/452.9)
  • Patent number: 9356540
Abstract: In the case of a method for automatically controlling an electrohydraulic pressing tool, in particular for producing pipe connections, to actuate the pressing tool a hydraulic piston is moved, in that fluid is pumped into a hydraulic cylinder by a hydraulic pump driven by an electric motor. When a limiting pressure in the hydraulic cylinder is reached, a pressure relief valve opens, and so the hydraulic fluid can flow into a reservoir. With the aid of a control device, a current drop at the motor is detected when the valve opens. The electric motor is switched off when the current falls by a predetermined value (?I) and/or decreases over a predetermined time period (?t) after reaching a limiting current.

Abstract: The equipment for producing a corrugate fin is capable of forming corrugated sections by one closing action. The equipment comprises: a plurality of punches respectively having projections, each of which is upwardly projected from an upper face of the punch and has a side slope face; a pair of cam blocks being capable of relatively moving close and away each other, the cam blocks respectively having pressing sections, which are capable of moving along the side slope faces and contacting the projections; and a cam plate relatively moving the cam blocks close or away each other. Positions of the side slope faces of the projections are different so as to make the pressing sections contact the projections in order, and the cam blocks move the punches toward the die in order by one closing action of the blocks.

Abstract: Adjustment of the tools (24) on the tool holder (10) in an Aerial Cam of a metal stamping press may be readily effected by opening the press to remove the upper die (14) from the stamping area and then removing the tool holder (10) on the driver (18) for controlled reciprocation simulating normal operation of the press. The tools (24) may then be adjusted in relation to the workpiece without the interference of the press dies (14 and 20).

Abstract: While a rotational die and a predetermined position of a lower mold in which the rotational die is provided can be set in a zero contact manner, operation of setting the rotational die in the predetermined position of the lower mold can be easily performed, and occurrence of troubles such as insufficient rotation of the rotational die and breakage of support shafts is reduced. To realize this, in a structure of bearing for rotatably pivoting a support shaft of a rotational die arranged in press molding apparatus by a bearing hole, inner diameter in at least an upper side of the bearing hole with respect to a horizontal line passing through a center of the bearing hole is formed slightly large compared with diameter of the support shaft, and a space is provided between the inner diameter in the upper side of the bearing hole and the support shaft.

  • Patent number: 7191635
Abstract: A press mounted cam has a slide guided on an adapter by structural features including as one or more T blocks fixed to the slide and received in a respective channel formed in the adapter. In an aerial cam embodiment, a vertical clearance space is provided between the T block and adapter channel such that positive driving engagement between cam surfaces on the slide and the adapter is momentarily delayed after the initial engagement of the slide and driver surfaces to let the momentum of the slide be absorbed prior to the beginning of positive driving by the press motion, reducing shock and noise. The slide is laterally located with respect to the driver by an upwardly projecting locator-guide key on the driver received in a central channel in the slide. A positive return is provided by engagement of a driver key having T features received in a T-shaped slide channel and captured therein when the slide is driven laterally.

Abstract: A wedge driving tool for cutting and/or non-cutting shaping of a sheet metal workpiece in a press includes a mould- and/or tool-bearing working slider, which may be displaced between a slider bed and a driver at a predetermined angle. For obtaining a working slider which may be continuously angularly adjusted, segmental disks are in each case arranged on both sides of the working slider in a continuously movable manner with respect to an angle of rotation, in each case, on the slider bed and the driver or on the working slider and the driver. The segmental disks, in each case, being arranged in pairs on an axis of rotation, are non-rotatably mutually connected along their chord-type boundaries such that corresponding straight-line guides, particularly for the working slider, are arranged in these connections.

The tool mounting includes a tooling plate adjustably secured to the cam slide by a series of dowel pins closely fit in dowel pin openings in the cam slide and loosely fit in dowel pin holes in the tooling plate to allow vertical and horizontal adjustment. A channel extends to each oversized dowel pin opening to enable injection of a setting material to lock the tooling plate in its adjusted position after being aligned with a die opening using a pilot installed in a tool holder mounted on one side of the tooling plate. An alignment plate is installed over the other side to cover the channel to each oversized dowel pin hole and allow removal and replacement of the tooling plate without disturbing the adjusted position on the tooling plates.

Abstract: A mechanism for hemming the beltline of a vehicle door panel is combined with a mechanism for hemming the outside perimeter of the door panel, and the two mechanisms are driven by a common drive. The beltline hemming steel acts on the beltline hem before the outside perimeter hemming steel acts on the outside perimeter hem, and lost motion in the actuation of the beltline hemming steel allows the beltline hemming steel to complete the beltline hem before the outside perimeter hem is completed. The lost motion mechanism provides reduced interaction or sensitivity between the steels, and the delay in the completion of the outside perimeter hem allows the entire hemming apparatus to be more easily tuned during set-up. The lost motion allows the entire mechanism to be less sensitive to variations in workpiece thickness.
