An aggregated content list in which the obtained pieces of content list information are aggregated is generated. The display 210 displays the aggregated content list. The content list information includes content available for viewing on the information terminal connected to the communication line. The aggregated content list includes content available for viewing on the two or more information terminals in which the pieces of content list information are aggregated.

The content presentation device then detects the abandonment-watermark in the media stream being received by the content presentation device and in response to the abandonment-watermark, abandons the dynamic content modification.

Abstract: A system and method for providing content to a user outside of a home region. A portable device displays content to a user through a network connection. A home content provider provides content to the portable device from the home region. Some of the content provided is region restricted content. A location verifier determines that the portable device and the user are both physically located within the home region. The location verifier issues to the user a location token when the user and the portable device are in the home region. A token verifier verifies the location token when the user requests the region restricted content outside of the home region. The token verifier further instructs the home content provider to provide region restricted content to the user when the user has the location token.

Abstract: Methods and systems for early identification of bitrates for segments in adaptive bitrate streaming can allow the server to begin processing or transcoding content as necessary for delivery, reducing processing and transmission latency. In a first aspect, a client may request a second segment before the first segment has been completely received. The server may begin any transcoding processes for preparing the second segment, and once the server has completed sending the first segment, the server may begin transmitting the now-prepared or partially prepared second segment. The server can then transmit the first and second segment contiguously, with essentially no network dead time. In a second aspect, the client may transmit an early notification of parameters for the request of the second segment, allowing the server to begin transcoding. The client may subsequently request the already-prepared or partially prepared second segment, similarly reducing request-response processing latency.

Abstract: A method for switching audio-visual interfaces and a circuit system are provided. The circuit system is disposed in a sink device. A protocol layer circuit of each of audio-visual interfaces in the sink device includes a status and control data channel control module, which is used to respond to the signals sent by the video sources continuously when the sink device is connected with audio-visual sources via the audio-visual interfaces. The multiple video sources can accordingly send FRL (fixed rate link) signals to the sink device in response to responses made by the sink device. The protocol layer circuit includes an FRL audio-visual packet detection module that starts to detect a rate of an FRL and resolve audio-visual packets for obtaining audio-visual data for the audio-visual interface that the sink device switches to.

The UE includes a first radio configured to perform implicit beamforming and further configured to transmit and receive signals during the calibration procedure. The UE further includes a first plurality of antennas communicatively coupled to the first radio, a second radio configured to transmit and receive signals during the calibration procedure and at least one second antenna communicatively coupled to the second radio. The calibration procedure includes the second radio transmitting a tone signal over the calibration frequency and a first antenna of the first radio receiving the tone signal and a second antenna of the first radio receiving the tone signal.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to the secure communication of devices. In one embodiment, a first device is configured to perform a pairing operation with a second device to establish a secure communication link between the first device and the second device. The pairing operation includes receiving firmware from the second device to be executed by the first device during communication over the secure communication link, and in response to a successful verification of the firmware, establishing a shared encryption key to be used by the first and second devices during the communication. In some embodiments, the pairing operation includes receiving a digital signature created from a hash value of the firmware and a public key of the second device, and verifying the firmware by extracting the hash value from the digital signature and comparing the extracted hash value with a hash value of the received firmware.

Abstract: A method for dynamic content filtering includes accessing, by a processing unit, a media content that includes several content portions. The method further includes determining a rating tag associated with each content portion from the media content, and a user profile of a user requesting the media content to be rendered. The user profile contains a permission level for the user. The method further includes filtering the content portions from the media content based on the permission level, wherein, in response to the rating tag of a particular content portion exceeding the permission level in the user profile, filtering out the particular content portion. The method further includes rendering content portions that were not filtered out.

Abstract: A method of processing information in a digital receiver connected to an external input source includes receiving uncompressed data of a broadcast service from the external input source, the broadcast service delivered based on either a Real-Time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (ROUTE) protocol or an MPEG Media Transport (MMT) protocol; extracting an audio watermark from the uncompressed data; making a request to a specific server using domain type and server code of the audio watermark to form a first URL; receiving a recovery file including a second URL used to retrieve signaling files needed to access and present a supplementary content; retrieving the signaling files using the second URL in the recovery file; and presenting the supplementary content based on the signaling files. Further, timing information included in the recovery file is used to synchronize the supplementary content with the uncompressed data from the external input source.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a first user with recommendations of media assets for inclusion in a playlist for a second user based on the second user's viewing activity. These systems and methods receive, from the second user, an expression of disinterest in a media asset included in the playlist for the second user, update a user profile associated with the second user based on the expression of disinterest, and determine a recommendation for another media asset based on the updated user profile associated with the second user. The systems and methods provide the recommendation to the first user. By recommending media assets that the second user is least likely to object to, these systems and methods reduce the frequency of disruptive requests for media assets from the second user.

Abstract: Example techniques relate to prioritizing media content requests. An example implementation involves a computing system receives an explicit request to play back a playlist on one or more playback devices of a media playback system. The computing system causes the playback devices to play back a given audio track of the playlist. While the playback devices are playing back first tracks of the playlist, the computing system receives one or more implicit requests for second audio tracks in the playlist. While the playback devices are playing back the second audio tracks of the playlist, the computing system receives an explicit request to play back audio content on a mobile device. The computing system determines that the request to play back the audio content on the mobile device is a higher priority than the requests for second audio tracks and switches playback from the playback devices to the mobile device.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display controller that displays, on the basis of a display schedule, content included in distribution data distributed from a content distribution apparatus. The display apparatus determines whether or not content that matches the replacement rule is included in the distribution data. When displaying content included in the distribution data on the basis of the display schedule, if it is determined that content that matches the replacement rule is included in the distribution data, the display apparatus replaces the content with the replacement content and displays the replacement content.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for control of data and content protection mechanisms across a network using a download delivery paradigm. In one embodiment, conditional access (CA), digital rights management (DRM), and trusted domain (TD) security policies are delivered, configured and enforced with respect to consumer premises equipment (CPE) within a cable television network. A trusted domain is established within the user's premises within which content access, distribution, and reproduction can be controlled remotely by the network operator. The content may be distributed to secure or non-secure “output” domains consistent with the security policies enforced by secure CA, DRM, and TD clients running within the trusted domain. Legacy and retail CPE models are also supported.

Abstract: The present application discloses a video playing method, an apparatus, an electronic device and a storage medium, and relates to the field of video playing. A specific implementation is as follows: receiving a video playing request input by a user and starting playing a video that is requested, pausing the playing when the playing of the video reaches a target video content, and pushing prompt information to the user, where the target video content is of a higher video rating than a preset video rating of the user, and the prompt information is used to prompt the user that the target video content to be played is not suitable for the user to watch.

The method includes determining to power on a first subsystem of a system-on-a-chip (SoC), wherein the determination to power on the first subsystem is made by a second subsystem of the SoC based on detection of user identity data contained in a first image frame during an initial biometric detection process. In certain aspects, the second subsystem is configured to operate independent of the first subsystem and control power to the first subsystem. In certain aspects, the second subsystem includes a second optical sensor, a set of ambient sensors, and a second processor configured to detect, via a set of ambient sensors, an event comprising one or more of an environmental event outside of the device or a motion event of the device.

On detection of the second content in the information signal at least one second feature is extracted from the first content in the information signal preceding the second content. The at least one second feature is sent to a user device using a second communication link, different from the first communication link, the second communication link being faster than the first communication link.

Abstract: An example method of fine grained digital experience controls is performed by an application server. The application server receives telemetry data that indicates a usage of a user device. The telemetry data is stored to one or more databases and analyzed to determine one or more usage patterns that are clustered by an identity of a user of the user device. The application server then monitors content accessed by the user and determines whether a rule violation has occurred by applying one or more rules to the accessed content. In response to determining that the rule violation has occurred, the application server sends a content blocking trigger to the user device to trigger the user device to block the content.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device may include a memory storing instructions and processor configured to execute the instructions to register a service class for the UE device with multicast middleware installed on the UE device. The processor may be further configured to obtain a multicast session list associated with the service class from a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) device; identify a broadcast associated with the service class based on the obtained multicast session list; instruct the multicast middleware to tune into the identified broadcast during a time period associated with the identified broadcast; receive content associated with the identified broadcast using the multicast middleware; retrieve the content associated with the identified broadcast from the multicast middleware; and provide the retrieved content to an application installed on the UE device.

The hardware abstraction layer is disposed between the hardware driver layer and the player application at the application layer, so that the hardware abstraction layer shields the player application from an interface difference of television receiver chips, and provides a unified interface protocol between the player application and the television receiver chip, to be compatible with and support television receiver chips with different interfaces.

Abstract: One or more frames within a video are segmented and classified according to information type. At least a portion of the information in the one or more frames is determined to be obscured. In response to this determination, information from audio data and the unobscured portion of the one or more frames is extracted. Using this extracted information, a set of replacement data is generated, according to the information type, for the obscured information in the one or more frames. The set of replacement data and the unobscured portion of the one or more frames is merged into one or more composite frames. These composite frames are displayed to a user.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, embodiments include providing video streams of video content to displays, each video stream includes a portion of the video content, determining that a viewer reaction to a first portion of the video content in a first video stream satisfies a viewer reaction threshold when the first video stream is presented on a first display, and determining that a sub-portion of the first portion of the video content caused the viewer reaction to satisfy the viewer reaction threshold in response to analyzing the first portion of the video content. Abstract: When an online system creates a video exchange session, a user participating in the video exchange session requests inclusion of external video data from an external source other than users participating in the video exchange session. The online system displays the external video content received from the external source in an interface in conjunction with video content received from the users participating in the video exchange session. Displaying the external video content in conjunction with video content from users participating in the video exchange session allows the online system to provide the users with a distraction while in the video exchange session. The online system may associate different external sources with different activities for the video exchange session, allowing selection of an activity to determine the displayed external video content.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a secure communication method, and the method may include: a sending terminal may generate data to be transmitted and determine encrypted data by encrypting the data to be transmitted using a preset encryption algorithm based on an encryption key. The encryption key may be obtained by a key exchange process between a smart door lock and a mobile terminal through a preset secure communication channel. The sending terminal may assign a unique identifier to the encrypted data and may send the encrypted data with a unique identifier to the receiving terminal, so that the receiving terminal may perform identity authentication on the encrypted data with the unique identifier and may decrypt the encrypted data based on the encryption key obtained by the key exchange process according to a result of the identity authentication.

Abstract: Smart routing synchronization systems socialize a synthetic rebroadcast or group stream for enabling members of a user group to (re)broadcast select content to other members of the user group and collaboratively curate content delivery. The systems are based on a content-identification process and further a process for (re)broadcasting content. These processes are cooperable among a group of member clients each of which are in communication with at least two content sources. The synchronization process identifies select content and directs delivery of the content from an optimal resource for each member client via a smart routing protocol. The (re)broadcast process prompts delivery of the select content to members of the user group from a content origination member of the group, and group members are thereby able to simultaneously access the content for the purpose of providing a content-based platform for social interaction.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are provided to receive network resource information pertaining to a network, and generate timeslot information pertaining to a network based on the network resource information. The timeslot information may indicate a date, a time period, a geographic service area, and quality of service parameters in which the network resource is available for use by subscribers of a multicast service to deliver programs. The timeslot information and cost information are published, and the OTT multicast service provisions the delivery of programs using timeslots secured by the subscribers.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for detecting impermissible account sharing among user accounts of a streaming media service including the steps of determining a plurality of locations accessed by a given user account of the user accounts; determining a device access count for each of the locations, the device access count indicating how many times the corresponding location was accessed by at least one device associated with the given user account; identifying one of the locations having the highest device access count as a base location; calculating a risk coefficient for each remaining location; generating a sharing score for the given user account by summing the risk coefficients; and determining impermissible account sharing of the given user account has occurred when the sharing score exceeds a threshold.

Abstract: System and methods for multimedia playback are provided. A terminal device may obtain a playback identifier of a multimedia playback device. The terminal device may send an association request to a server based on the playback identifier. The association request may enable the server to establish an association between a terminal device and the multimedia playback device. The terminal device may receive a plurality of candidate options pushed by the server. The plurality of candidate options may be pushed to the terminal device associated with the multimedia playback device when the server detects that a preset time point arrives after the multimedia playback device plays back a first media resource. The terminal device may obtain a target option selected from the plurality of candidate options. The terminal device may feedback the target option to the server to enable the server to determine a second media resource to be played back by the multimedia playback device.

Abstract: A computer apparatus (e.g. a server) and a method for managing transmission resources in a SIP-based communication system can include use of a SIP registrar server that is adapted to receive register requests from a number of clients connected to the SIP registrar server via a communication network. Each client can be granted a predetermined number of register requests in a predetermined first time period where each register request corresponds to a slot. In the first time period, at least one slot not used by a first client can be lent to a second client. In a second time period, the at least one slot lent to the second client can be reclaimed by the first client or another client. The reclaiming of the lent slot(s) can include making the second client function as a proxy for other clients according to a third party registration process.

Abstract: A system and method in which a TV signal reception device (e.g., set top box) receives a broadcast signal, sends the broadcast signal to a TV, and sends an event signal to a rating statistics information server or associated user terminal when a predetermined condition occurs, to ultimately cause an associated user terminal to generate fingerprint data of audio from the TV and to provide the fingerprint data to the server so as to facilitate channel identification and generation of ratings statistics.
