Abstract: A first connection state may be entered on a computing device. While the computing device is in the first connection state, actions taken on a playlist on the computing device may be applied to the playlist and not applied to a playback queue associated with a zone. An input may be received via the computing device, indicating a selection of the zone. In response to receiving the input, a second connection state may be entered. Entering the second connection state may comprise establishing a connected state between the computing device and the one or more playback devices. While the connected state is established, one or more actions taken on the playlist on the computing device may be applied to the playlist and transmitted, in a message to the zone over a network. The one or more actions may be one or more corresponding actions applied to the playback queue.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating notification interfaces based on interactions with broadcast events are provided. The system can maintain content items corresponding to a live event, and identify interactions provided via a broadcast receiver device while the broadcast receiver device presented corresponding historic live event broadcasts. The system can determine an arrangement of the content items corresponding to the live event based on attributes of the historic live event broadcasts. The system can generate display instructions for the broadcast receiver device that cause the broadcast receiver device to display the content items with a broadcast of the live event according to the arrangement, and transmit the display instructions to the broadcast receiver device to cause the broadcast receiver device to display the content items with the broadcast of the live event.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for processing local search results. In one aspect, a method determines a first local document in a set of local documents for search results is eligible for a demotion operation. The determination is based at least in part on a proximity measure based on the location of the user device and a location specified for the first local document. In response to the determination, for each other local documents in the set of local documents, a proximity measure location of the user device and the location specified for the other local document is determined. The first local document is demoted in its ranking when at least one of the proximity measures indicates a respective other local document has a specified location that is within a threshold distance of the location of the user device.

The wireless station generates the request to register the wireless base station for subsequent allocation of wireless channels. In response to receiving the request, the communication management resource maps an identity of the wireless base station to a geographical location in which the wireless base station resides and forwards the request and notification of the geographical location to a channel allocation resource (a.k.a., allocation management resource) that allocates use of the wireless channels in a region in which the geographical location resides.

Abstract: A handset or other end device in a local service domain receives video service notifications. The video service notifications can provide information to a user of the end device about a video service (e.g., a television program or a movie) available within a local network. The video service notification can include a request for a response to the notification, with the request having a corresponding URI or other type of link to cause a desired action (e.g., to commence recording or playing content associated with a particular video service). A mobile device configurable for direct communication in a wide area wireless network can join a local service domain and receive services through a gateway of that local service domain.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to verify and/or correct media lineup information are disclosed. Disclosed example apparatus include a signature comparator to, when media presentation data representative of media output by a media device does not correspond to reference data associated with first reference media corresponding to a first station: identify a plurality of first signatures in a database that matches a plurality of second signatures included in the media presentation data, the plurality of first signatures including at least one of first audio signatures or first video signatures, the plurality of second signatures including at least one of second audio signatures or second video signatures generated from the media output by the media device; and determine second reference media corresponding to the plurality of first signatures; and memory to store the media presentation data.

Abstract: A method of providing a recommendation channel list according to an embodiment of the present disclosure allows a user to quickly and conveniently select desired content and includes: acquiring viewing history information including information about a viewing time, a channel, and a genre of content that a user viewed on a display device for a first period; in response to a preset event being occurred, generating, based on the viewing history information, a recommendation channel list including at least one channel from among at least one first recommended channel related to at least one channel viewed by the user and at least one second recommended channel related to at least one genre of content viewed by the user; and displaying a screen including the recommendation channel list.

Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for automating the association of messages. Data points associated with at least one client device associated with an identifier are logged into an activity database. Labels corresponding to message records are retrieved. Message-signal values representing behavior associated with at least a subset of the message records are also retrieved. The labels are merged with the message-signal values to generate a signal-label collection. A signal-label model is trained based on the signal-label collection, thereby generating a trained signal-label model. A mapping of the one or more activity data points and the plurality of labels are then generated. The embedding that is generated can then be used to find custom audiences.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying objects displayed in a media asset are provided. First and second parental control restrictions associated with first and second users within a perceivable range of a user equipment device are retrieved. The first parental control restriction enables access to content associated with a first authorization level and the second parental control restriction enables access to content associated with a second authorization level. A common authorization level that does not violate the first and second parental control restrictions is identified. A media asset that satisfies the common authorization level is presented to the first and second users in a first form. Supplemental content associated with the media asset that violates the second parental control restriction but does not violate the first parental control restriction is selected. The supplemental content is presented in a second form while the media asset is being presented in the first form.

Abstract: A mechanism is described for facilitating dynamic storage management for computing mobile devices according to one embodiment. A method of embodiments, as described herein, includes detecting context-aware data relating to a computing device and a user associated with the computing device, monitoring available space at a local storage of the computing device, and dynamically allocating portions of the space at the local storage based on the context-aware data and results of the monitoring of the space. The dynamic allocation may include providing a first portion of the space to a first content by moving a second content from the local storage to one or more remote storage devices.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a feedback service that collects feedback for skills, or capabilities, of a virtual assistant that interacts with users, and associates the feedback with the appropriate skills. Virtual assistants interact with users via voice-enabled devices that are backed by voice-processing systems that support various skills of the virtual assistants. Due to large numbers of skills, users are unable to determine which skill is invoked during interactions with virtual assistants, and are thus unable to provide feedback for the skill. The techniques described herein include continuing a speech dialogue with a user after completion of an interaction, and requesting feedback regarding the interaction. Additionally, the techniques may include collecting contextual data for the interaction (e.g., dropped packets, latency caused by jitter, etc.).

Abstract: A system and method for detection of media items matching is disclosed. In an implementation, the method includes identifying a first media item associated with a channel of a first user; determining whether the first media item qualifies as a candidate reference media item based on properties of the first media item and the channel; analyzing content of the first media item to determine whether a first threshold amount of frames of the first media item does not match with any frame of any previously uploaded media item; selecting the first media item as a reference media item; detecting a subsequently uploaded media item that includes at least a second threshold portion of the reference media item; and providing a graphical user interface (GUI) for presentation to the first user, the GUI including the subsequently uploaded media item and one or more actions to be initiated by the first user.

Abstract: A method for generating a content depiction of particular content that includes a machine learning system programmed to receive profile data representing preferences for content. The machine learning system identifies preferences for content features based upon the profile data, accesses content data representing the particular content and other content, and classifies features of the content data and content structure data within a content structure database system according to content categories. The machine learning system generates a content structure depiction of the particular content by combining content structure data from the content structure database system, wherein the combining is based upon correlating the identified preferences of the profile with the classified content categories. The machine learning system receives feedback data responsive to the content depiction and reprograms a configuration of the machine learning system for generating a content depiction based upon the feedback data.

Recommendations may include access plans specifying a plurality of digital media services, where each specified digital media service provides availability to items of content included in a user defined set. Further, recommendations may be based on one or more use defined constraints. User defined constraints may include a user budget for accessing items of content during a specific time period.

Abstract: Systems and methods provided herein for intelligently distinguishing between different versions of a media asset and selectively storing those requested media assets that differ from versions that were previously stored in some pre-defined characteristics. These systems and methods, upon identifying a version of the requested media asset was previously stored, determine a characteristic of the requested media asset. These systems and methods compare the characteristic of the requested media asset with a corresponding characteristic of the version of the requested media asset that was previously stored to determine a difference between the two versions. The systems and methods then determine whether the difference in characteristic renders the requested media asset preferable over the previously stored version. Upon determining that the requested media asset is preferable over the previously stored version, the systems and methods store the requested media asset.

Abstract: Techniques for efficiently matching two sets of video items are provided. In on technique, an embedding is generated for each video item in each set. For the first set of video items, multiple groups are generated. The first set of video items may have a relatively little amount of metadata information for them. Each video item in the first set is assigned to one of the groups. Then, for each video item in the second set, one of the groups is selected based on embedding similarity. For each video item in the selected group, an embedding similarity is determined between that video item in the selected group and the video item in the second set. If the embedding similarity is above a certain threshold, then an association is generated for that pair of video items.

Abstract: Systems and methods for extracting data from digital messages for digital group compositions may include (1) providing, to a user of a social media application, a consumption interface that displays social media posts from multiple different channels, (2) displaying, within the consumption interface, a series of one or more posts from a first channel, (3) once a final post from the series has been displayed, altering an appearance of the consumption interface to signal a transition from displaying the series of posts from the first channel to displaying an additional series of one or more posts from a second channel, and (4) upon altering the appearance of the consumption interface, displaying, within the consumption interface, the additional series of posts from the second channel. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for rearranging the order of a plurality of segments of a trailer for media content, based on a retrieved viewing history of at least one user watching the trailer. Based on the retrieved viewing history, it is determined whether any of the plurality of segments arranged in a predetermined order contain spoiler information for the at least one user. Responsive to the determination that at least one of the plurality of segments contains spoiler information, a position of the at least one segment within the trailer is rearranged to generate a rearranged order of the plurality of segments, and the trailer in the rearranged order is generated for display.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method includes receiving podcast content, generating a transcript of at least a portion of the podcast content, and parsing the podcast content to (i) identify audio segments within the podcast content, (ii) determine classifications for the audio segments, (iii) identify audio segment offsets, and (iv) identify sentence offsets. The method also includes based on the audio segments, the classifications, the audio segment offsets, and the sentence offsets, dividing the generated transcript into text sentences and, from among the text sentences of the divided transcript, selecting a group of text sentences for use in generating an audio summary of the podcast content. The method also includes based on timestamps at which the group of text sentences begin in the podcast content, combining portions of audio in the podcast content that correspond to the group of text sentences to generate an audio file representing the audio summary.

Abstract: A customized highlight sequence depicting multiple events, and based on a user's personal characteristics, interests, and/or preferences, is generated and presented. The events can be sporting events, entertainment events, and/or the like. For example, in the context of sporting events, a determination is made as to what types of sports, teams, leagues, players, plays, and/or the like are of interest to the user. In at least one embodiment, the amount of time available to the user can be obtained, so that the length of the highlight sequence can be tailored to the available time. A customized highlight sequence is then generated and presented, containing those specific portions of the sporting events that are likely to be of interest, arranged in a manner that is likely to be entertaining to the user and comports with the time restrictions.

Abstract: According to some aspects described herein, content and service providers in a media delivery network may provide improved recommendations and/or personalize a user's experience based on the real-time activity of that user as well as other users. In this way, ever increasing amounts of content may be optimally managed in a way that provides users with the improved and/or personalized experience.

Abstract: Media device systems and methods are operable to identify media content events. An exemplary embodiment receives a user defined keyword tag, associates an identifier of a media content event with the user defined keyword tag, stores the user defined keyword tag and the associated identifier in a database, receives a user specification of the user defined keyword tag, conducts a search of the user defined keyword tags in the database for instances where the user defined keyword tag of the second user specification matches with the stored user defined keyword tag of the first user specification, and generates a return message that indicates the associated identifier of the media content event for each instance where the user defined keyword tag matches with the stored user defined keyword tag.

In some implementations, playback of a media content item presented on the unified user interface relies on a collaborative implementation of a corresponding media player application and a media content casting application, particularly when the play involves a restricted mode. The content casting application is enabled to play the media content item at the restrict mode when the media player application does not operate in the restricted mode.

Social information of a target user account is acquired in response to detecting a predetermined operation from the target user account. Abstract: A system and method for playback control of media content across devices in a MaaS transportation network is provided. The system receives, from a MaaS network, trip details of an ongoing trip and determines a first vehicle by which a user is set to complete an active first leg of the ongoing trip. The system generates media content recommendations based on the trip details and controls a first display device in use inside the first vehicle, to display such recommendations. The system receives a selection of a first content recommendation and controls a playback of first media content associated with the selection on the first display device. The system detects an event which requires the playback to pause and controls the playback to resume on a second display device in use inside a second vehicle, within duration of a second leg of the ongoing trip or a different trip.

The viewing progress of each of the plurality of users is compared to identify a maximum viewing progress that is common to each of the plurality of users. A request from a user to access the media asset is received. A current viewing progress in the media asset of the user is monitored to determine when the current viewing progress of the user matches the identified maximum viewing progress that is common to each of the plurality of users. In response to determining that the current viewing progress of the user matches the identified maximum viewing progress, a message with an option to perform an action relative to the media asset is generated for display to the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying and correlating an advertised object with a plurality of interconnected computing devices embedded in a living environment of the user. For example, a media guidance application implemented at a set-top box with a television may receive a signal from a printer indicating that cartridge ink is low. When the user is watching a television show and an advertisement relating to printer cartridges is being played, the media guidance application may identify that the advertised printer cartridges may be something that the user needs, and may then send a notification to a user of the advertisement. In this way, the media guidance application correlates advertisements from a media asset with a user's actual needs, which may improve the advertisement conversion rate for advertisers.

Abstract: A system, method and computer readable media automatically highlights an unhealthy condition of a viewer. A set-top-box operatively connects to a network and a television display. The set-top-box is adapted to output a program to a viewer watching the television display. The set-top-box operatively connects through a wireless protocol to one or more wearable health monitoring devices that monitor one or more health readings associated with the viewer. The set-top-box outputs an alert to the viewer during the program if a health reading falls within a dangerous range. Advantageously, the alert is delivered through an EPG and may comprise pausing/stopping the program, and/or highlighting the alert on the television display for the viewer's safety.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for systems and user interfaces for rapid analysis of viewership information. One of the methods includes accessing databases storing viewership information associated with segments, with each segment being associated with common features of viewers. Measures of association between the segment and content items are maintained for each segment. An interactive user interface is presented via a user device, the interactive user interface enabling creation of a customized viewing audience. The interactive user interface receives user input indicating a segment, identifies similar segments based on associations between features of the segment and of other segments, and presents the identified segments. Analysis information associated with the segments is presented for at least one of the one or more segments, with the segments being included in the customized viewing audience.

The method includes aggregating content from content providers and presenting the content to a content device. The method also includes monitoring consumption of storage space with respect to storage capacity in the content device, relocating content contained in the storage space of the content device when a predetermined condition is met, and providing access to relocated content. The relocation is operable for freeing up the storage space of the content device.
