  • Patent number: 11202958
Abstract: A system enables metadata to be gathered about a data store beginning from the creation and generation of the data store, through subsequent use of the data store. This metadata can include keywords related to the data store and data appearing within the data store. Thus, keywords and other metadata can be generated without owner/creator intervention, with enough semantic meaning to make a discovery process associated with the data store much easier and efficient. Usage of or communication regarding a data store are monitored and keywords are extracted from the usage or communication. The keywords are then written to otherwise associated with metadata of the data store. During searching, keywords in the metadata are made available to be used to attempt to match query terms entered by a searcher.

  • Patent number: 11025583
Abstract: Social network friend-based recommendations are provided. Based on user consumption data provided by one or more service providers, a determination may be made as to which social network contacts a user has who may have preferences for video, music, and other media that are close to the user's. The determination of social network contacts who share a common interest and the user consumption data of those social network contacts may be utilized to infer recommendations for the user. Other functionalities may be provided, such as manual recommendations, placing emphasis on recommendations from particular friends, email notifications of content that a friend has consumed that the user has not, an option to view what a social network contact is viewing, providing a list of programs that the user and a social network contact have both seen, and providing advertisements based on consumption data, recommendations, and/or discovered areas of interest.

  • Patent number: 11019386
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to verify and/or correct media lineup information are disclosed. Disclosed example apparatus include a comparator to compare media presentation data representative of media output by a set top box to reference data corresponding to a first station to determine whether the media presentation data corresponds to the reference data, the media presentation data collected while the set top box was tuned to a first channel number. The comparator is also to determine a second station that corresponds to the media presentation data when the media presentation data does not correspond to the reference data, and relate the first channel number to the second station to create a second channel map to replace a first channel map that related the first channel number to the first station based on channel lineup information for the set top box.

  • Patent number: 11012574
Abstract: Various technologies described herein pertain to detection of an opportune time period to deliver a notification. Responsive to receipt of the notification (e.g., at a user device), analysis of an attention state of a user can be initialized. Further, the opportune time period to deliver the notification can be detected based on the analysis of the attention state of the user. The opportune time period can be during a breakpoint or an influential context. The breakpoint is when the user has switched between tasks and lacks engagement with the tasks. The influential context is a particular context in which the user is available to attend to the notification. Moreover, the notification can be delivered during the opportune time period.

  • Patent number: 11004112
Abstract: Automatic performance triggered campaign adjustment. A hierarchical feature tree is generated. Each child node's feature is more specific than its respective parent node's feature. The discovery system creates a behavioral model comprising features of the feature tree which is used in the operation of an advertising campaign. A degraded model feature is detected at the discovery system by comparing a performance metric of a model feature from two different time windows. The discovery system matches a node of the feature tree with the degraded feature and selects a prospective model feature from an ancestor node of the matching feature's node. An estimated performance metric for the prospective model feature is determined and the results are used to decide if the prospective model feature should be incorporated into an updated model or not. The model can be updated with a new model feature selected from one or more prospective model features.

Abstract: Technologies are disclosed herein for selecting one or more content instances of a plurality of content instances for display on a head unit of a vehicle. The content instances correspond to a location of a vehicle and are received by the head unit. The head unit obtains vehicle specific information from memory of the head unit. Based on the vehicle specific information, the head unit selects the one or more content instances using a set of criteria for determining which, if any, content instances to display. Selection of the one or more content instances using the set of criteria may involve consideration of information associated with individual instances of the plurality of content instances. The selected one or more content instances are displayed on a display of the head unit.
