A media system controller dynamically associates a credit corresponding to a monetary value with a particular guest room in response to an occurrence of a first event, configures an in-room media device of the particular guest room to indicate the credit associated with the particular guest room and allow a guest of the particular guest room to utilize at least an amount of the credit toward an order of the pay-per-use media function, activates the pay-per-use media function on at least one of the in-room media devices of the particular guest room in response to a received order, and decreases the credit associated with the particular guest room according to the amount of the credit utilized toward the received order.

Abstract: A system and method of sharing video experiences are described. A request may be received from a first device to view video content being captured by a second device. The first device may be enabled to display the video content being captured by the second device based on a determination that the first device is capturing or has captured video content. Enabling the first device to display the video content being captured by the second device may comprise streaming live video content being captured by the second device as the live video content is being captured by the second device. Enabling of the first device to display the video content captured by the second device may be further based on a determination that the first device is located within a geo-fence.

Abstract: A system for automating generation of an audio/video (AV) control interface includes a computing device having a processor to enable a user, with a user interface of the computing device, to configure the AV system. The processor may enable the user to draw output zones to create a representation of a geographical layout of a venue in which the AV system is located. The processor may enable the user to place transmitting and receiving AV devices within the output zones that substantially represent physical locations thereof within the venue. The processor may enable the user to logically associate receiving AV device channels of receiving AV devices within an output zone. The processor assigns parameters of the associated AV devices to a control interface for user control thereof. To do so, the processor identifies controllable parameters associated with the AV devices associated with the output zone.

The method includes connecting a device to media content sources, identifying a media content source as a temporary content source, the temporary content source not permanently connected to the home network, scanning, at a periodic rate, the media content source to identify media content, the rate being higher than a rate for a media content source that is not a temporary content source, and updating a catalog of media content available to the media device based on scanning the media content source. Abstract: A network audio system allows AV files existing in a PC to be readily registered and music to be reproduced using a client machine. The client machine is connected to the PC and a server application and a controller application are installed in the PC. Music is reproduced using the client machine based on an AV file existing in a user folder, when the user drags and drops an icon for the AV folder to an icon for the client machine. In response to the operation, the controller application produces music piece information including the artist name and the like based the tag information of the AV file. When the music piece information is not yet registered, the server application provides the music piece information with a music piece ID for registration in the content information database. The processor also has a port that is coupleable to control a tuner, a demodulator and a DOCSIS module with or without DSG support. The TEE controller selectively displays video from the IFE entertainment source on the IFE passenger seat displays, and generates a respective registration token image on each IFE passenger seat display. The PED includes a PED optical sensor, a PED memory for storing an in-flight coupon to be redeemed by the passenger while in-flight, a PED wireless transceiver, and a PED controller. The PED controller communicates with the IFE wireless transceiver via the PED wireless transceiver based upon the PED optical sensor sensing the registration token image so that the PED controller is registered with the IFE controller.

Abstract: To effectively utilize the bandwidth of a cable TV network, which is limited, analog TV program material is digitized and compressed before its transmission over the network. The resulting signals consume only part of the analog TV band traditionally needed for transmission of the analog TV program material. The newly available bandwidth in the analog TV band may be utilized for other cable TV services, e.g., video-on-demand (VOD) services. A reception gateway is employed at a user location to frequency-translate any VOD signals, transmitted through the analog TV band, to another frequency band, thereby avoiding disturbing the normal operation of a set-top terminal in receiving the analog TV program material through the analog TV band at the user location.
