The rod is coupled to the ends of the posts and the motor is controlled as to its direction of rotation, speed of rotation and degree of rotation to define the excursion of the reciprocating movement and the speed of the movement. The assembly is mounted on rails for movement toward and away from the object to be painted by another driving mechanism.

    Abstract: This is a system of providing lateral support to the block of a Scotch Yoke mechanism. The Scotch Yoke mechanism is useful in operators or devices which translate linear motion to rotary motion. The Scotch Yoke has a hub with an upper U-shaped member having two arms and a lower U-shaped member also having two arms. The hub is connected to a rod so that rotation of the hub rotates the rod. A drive screw or rod is between the upper and lower U-shaped arms and is provided with a block which has upper and lower rollers for engaging the Scotch Yoke assembly which is mounted in a housing. This whole mechanism may be called an operator. A new and improved way is provided for transmitting applied force which is imposed on the block to the housing proper.

After assembly, the shoe is clamped between the groove formed in the reverse idler gear and the hole in the reverse shift arm so that it is held in place.

The profile of the drive cam is configured to have a steep rise and a gradual drop so that the average speed at which the labeling assembly is driven through a label applying strobe is substantially less than the speed at which the assembly is driven through a return stroke thus reducing the stress applied to the label as it is installed. A fluid pressure operated actuator pressurized to a first predetermined pressure exerts a biasing force on the lever to urge the cam follower into contact with the drive cam.

The second arm of the intermediate lever preferably includes a slideway (15) which receives a slide-shoe (16) affixed to an auxilliary adjustment lever (7), which is preferably an angular lever on which the auxilliary adjustment means acts at the end (12).

    Abstract: A single-tooth gearing, suitable for use e.g. in a hydrodynamic torque converter, is disclosed. The gearing includes a reciprocating rod having a tooth gap and a gear wheel having a tooth for engaging the tooth gap. The length of the tooth gap is preferably equal to the sum of the radii of curvature of the two flanks of the tooth.

    Abstract: A console or floor-mounted shift lever is connected through a flexible cable to a coupling mechanism mounted on the steering column. The coupling cooperates with the actuator such that the actuator is stationary while the transmission shift lever is moved through the conventional shift pattern from "Low" to "Reverse" and is pivoted when the shift lever is moved from "Reverse" to "Park". The pivoting movement of the actuator results in rotation of a portion of a steering column which then permits a conventional ignition locking mechanism to be moved to the "Lock" position.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a sequential operating mechanism for valves for applications requiring actuation of one valve, or set of valves, prior to actuation of another valve, or set of valves. The actuator carries cam pins which engage cams (preferably cam slots) on cam plates attached to the stems of the respective valves during the course of an actuator half stroke. The cams are configured with respect to the paths of movement of the cam pins and with respect to the valve stems so that one valve is fully actuated to its extreme position before actuation of the other valve begins. If additional valves, in the same or different piping networks, require actuation at the same time as one or both of the cam actuated valves, such additional valves are ganged for simultaneous operation with the appropriate one of the cam actuated valves.
