Abstract: A timer latch mechanism is provided having a timer mechanism which releases a gate structure by moving a linkage tied to arms so that the arms pivot intermediate their length to move pawls on one end away from the gate.
Abstract: A manual and power motivated drive apparatus, wherein a web is advanced by a drive means, such as a motor comprises; a driven means mounted on an output shaft coupled to the drive means; a manually rotatable input shaft; a first motion transmission means mounted on the input shaft; and a second intermediate motion transmission means engaging the first transmission means and rockable about the input shaft upon the rotation of the first transmission means. The second transmission means is rocked about the input shaft upon rotation thereof in a manner to be brought into engagement with the driven means, whereby the driving force of the input shaft is transmitted by way of the first and second transmission means and the driven means to the output shaft.
Abstract: In an agricultural attachment, a gearing arrangement is provided to connect a driven gear in the attachment to a power take-off connection on a tractor. The gearing arrangment includes drive gears spaced laterally apart, each of a different size, and each mounted on a different shaft. The drive gear shafts are disposed in spaced parallel relation to the shaft on which the driven gear is positioned. The drive gears are mounted in a casing formed by two half shells and can be swung through an arc about the axis of the shaft of the driven gear for affording an optimum connection to the power take-off connection of the tractor.
Abstract: Power feed apparatus adapted for driving the feed screw of a milling machine including a gear mounted on the end of the feed screw, a second gear driven by a reversible electric motor, an idler gear rotatably mounted on a lever for movement into and out of engagement between the first two gears, an adjustable pressure lock for retaining the lever in the position which keeps the idler gear engaged, and a housing mountable on the milling machine table supporting the motor, lever and pressure lock.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a timing device for an intravenous feeding pump, whereby the pump can be set to operate at its regular rate for a predetermined period (preferably up to about 4 hours) and thereafter at a reduced rate just sufficient to keep the needle open. The apparatus comprises a gear train driven by the main drive shaft of the intravenous feeding pump actuator, which drives a setting dial at a considerably reduced speed back to a "0" position. The setting dial is clutched to a final gear of the gear train through a spring slip clutch, so that the setting dial can be set to a desired position without driving the gear train or the gear train continue to drive even though the setting dial is latched in its 0 position.
Abstract: A control mechanism for use with portable fogging systems or the like, comprising a mechanical timer, a mechanical cam and lever device, and sequential valving to control the time and pressure volume of flow of pressurized air or the like through the nozzle(s) of a fogging system or the like.
Abstract: The unwind controller drum for metering web material into a web processing machine is positively driven by a positive, fixed-ratio drive train. Several drive ratios are selectively available, each differing only slightly from another to provide minute changes in the drive ratio from the drive to the unwind drum. The changes in drive speed are generally less than .05% to provide positively determined, finite adjustment of the rate that the web material is metered into the web processing equipment.
Abstract: A line feed mechanism for use with high speed, lead screw driven printers, such as of the dot matrix type, utilizes a solenoid with a dual pivotal armature to effect the coupling of a uniquely mounted and eccentrically displaceable platen gear to a lead screw connected gear. As such, single or multiple platen controlled line feeding is effected in a manner which is correlated with the linear advancement of the carriage-mounted and lead screw-driven print head. The pivotal armature, when actuated, is also employed to hold a detent lever out of engagement with a ratchet wheel associated with the platen during multiple line feeding. This advantageously obviates the "clatter" sound otherwise generated, with but one solenoid being required for both variable line feeding and ratchet wheel release.
