The bearing (11) of the gear wheel allows movement of the gear wheel relative to the rack in a direction transversely to the longitudinal direction of the rack, and by movement beyond the end stop the gear wheel will be pressed out of its bearing, and the mechanism is thereby protected against overloading.

  • Patent number: 6189397
Abstract: A multi-speed transmission suitable for automotive-type use employs paired helical gears. For each speed of the transmission, at least one pair of helical cut gears is mounted on an input drive shaft for engaging and mating at least one pair of helical cut gears mounted on an idler shaft. During load transmission for a given speed, the helical gear pairs on the idler shaft center themselves on the helical gear pairs on the drive shaft to balance load transmission amongst gears. The idler shaft would also have at least one pair of helical cut gears to engage and mate at least one pair of helical cut gears on a power output shaft.

  • Patent number: 6161446
Abstract: An image forming apparatus provided with a photoreceptor with an internal gear includes the internal gear in a photoreceptor drum, a pinion gear in engagement with the internal gear, and a cleaning unit and a developer unit which apply contact pressure onto the photoreceptor drum. The pinion gear is provided in such an area that a resulting force of the contact pressure respectively applied from the process elements does not cause a distortion of the photoreceptor drum which exceeds an axial backlash determined in initialization according to a distance between axes of the pinion gear and the internal gear. The described arrangement prevents interference between non-driving surfaces of the internal gear and the pinion gear. As a result, a smooth rotary motion of the photoreceptor drum can be ensured, thereby preventing an image defect caused by an unstable rotary motion of the photoreceptor drum.

Abstract: An offset axle (1) for low-platform town buses. It solves the problem of making it possible to integrate disc brakes in the offset axle system without reducing the aisle width of the platform in the vehicle in the area of the axle and obtaining a sufficiently low platform level in spite of the gantry being significantly lowered owing to design requirements. Disposed eccentrically in the offset axle (1) is a differential (2) the axle shafts of which are each inserted into a drive pinion (5) of a gantry drive (3) with demultiplication effect, the drive being freely mounted in a self-centering manner between two intermediate pinions (6) each of which transmits half the drive power to a spur wheel (7) in order to drive the wheels. Owing to the two gantry drives (3), the axle shafts (4) are lower than the wheel axles by the depth of the gantry. The axle shafts (4) are mounted eccentrically on the upper edge of the interior of the axle bridge housing (8).
