Non-linear Screw Patents (Class 74/424.74)
  • Patent number: 10814747
Abstract: A spindle drive (10), with a spindle (20) which is rotatable about a rotation axis (24) at least indirectly by a drive motor (12), the spindle (20) having a thread-like spindle turn (22) on which a spindle nut (26) is arranged movably in the longitudinal direction of the rotation axis (24), and with a worm gear (15; 15a) which is arranged in a gear housing (14), is drivable by the drive motor (12) and is connected to the spindle (20) for conjoint rotation therewith.

  • Patent number: 9512886
Abstract: An actuator can include a coil spring, a plunger, and a rotating member. The coil spring can include a plurality of coils disposed about an axis. The plunger can include a body and a follower. The follower can be fixedly coupled to the body. The body can be disposed about the axis. The follower can be received between adjacent ones of the coils. The rotating member can be rotatable about the axis and drivingly coupled to one of the coil spring and the plunger to rotate the one of the coil spring and the plunger about the axis. Rotation of the rotatable member can effect translation of the plunger, compression of the coil spring, or both translation of the plunger and compression of the coil spring.

  • Patent number: 9458895
Abstract: A vehicle power transmitting device can include a clutch and an actuator. The actuator can include a coil spring, a plunger, and a rotating member. The coil spring can include a plurality of coils disposed about an axis. The plunger can include a body and a follower. The follower can be fixedly coupled to the body. The body can be disposed about the axis and coupled to the clutch to selectively activate the clutch.

  • Patent number: 8453529
Abstract: The invention concerns a gearing for an adjustment device, especially an automotive adjustment device. Included is a threaded spindle as well as a spindle nut sitting on the threaded spindle, while inside a housing of the gearing. On either side of the spindle nut, there is provided a bearing bush to mount the spindle nut inside the gearing housing, while at least one of the bearing bushes consists of flexible material and is clamped under prestressing between the gearing housing and the spindle nut.

  • Patent number: 8176805
Abstract: The invention relates to a spindle bearing arrangement for a longitudinal seat adjusting gear, which has a housing which can be attached by an attaching device on a vehicle-side component or on a seat component, whereby a spindle opening for guiding a spindle along a spindle opening axis runs through the housing and whereby an inner thread in the housing in the area of its spindle opening is formed to engage into a spindle run through in this manner, for shifting the housing and the spindle relative to each other along the spindle opening axis. The spindle bearing becomes advantageous in that the inner thread is formed in a spindle nut and the spindle nut is adjustably supported in the housing relative to the spindle opening axis.

  • Patent number: 8113074
Abstract: A gear for an adjusting device with includes a gear spindle (5) and a spindle nut (30) exhibiting an internal thread (32). The spindle nut (30) rests on the spindle (5) and the inner thread (32) of the spindle nut (30) engages with the spindle thread (27). A bearing sleeve (15), which exhibits a bearing section (19) for supporting the spindle nut (30), is provided on either side of the spindle nut (30). At least one bearing sleeve (15) has a guide section (25) for guiding the spindle nut (30) relative to thread spindle (5).

  • Publication number: 20020189385
Abstract: A ball screw apparatus includes a cylindrical screw shaft having a spiral groove in an outside peripheral surface, a cylindrical ball nut surrounding the screw shaft and having a spiral groove in an inside peripheral surface, and a plurality of bearing balls rotatably interposed the two spiral grooves, which are aligned and spaced apart such that the bearing balls are free to rotate as the ball nut rotates about and moves along the screw shaft. One or more of the screw shaft and the ball nut may include a spiral wire coil and a coil shape retention device. The opposed peripheral surfaces of adjacent coils of each spiral wire coil form the walls of one of the spiral grooves. Each coil shape retention device prevents the associated spiral wire coil from changing shape when the ball nut moves spirally relative to the screw shaft.
