    Abstract: The present invention provides an indexing device for a turntable which is provided with a plurality of roller followers arranged at equal angular intervals; a cam component is provided on one side of the turntable. The cam component is provided with a first side rib wall with a continuous cam curved surface in a first direction and a second side rib wall with a continuous cam curved surface in a second direction, and the first side rib wall and the second side rib wall face opposite sides to form a cam groove with a variable groove width for guiding the movements of the roller followers and rotating the turntable; wherein the first side rib wall and the second side rib wall can compress on at least one pair of the roller followers of the turntable symmetrically in the first and second directions, so as to effectively eliminate the backlash problem between the cam component and the roller followers and improve the positioning accuracy of the turntable.

Still further, a locking member is provided adjacent the brake actuating member for locking the actuating member in position when the brake member is clamped to the wheel. The invention also discloses a structure for braking and clamping two wheels of a wheelchair with one brake actuating member.

The groove portions are successively formed by being axially shifted one after one along the shaft, and each of the chamfered portions forms the connection between adjacent groove portions.The intermittent drive member is employed in a mechanism which includes an electric motor for driving the shaft and a movable member having a tip end portion slidably fitted in the spiral groove so that the movable member is displaced when the shaft is rotated. The shaft is rotated to move the movable member in a predetermined direction when the tip end portion is in each of the chamfered portions, while the motor is deenergized to stop the movement of the shaft when the tip end portion is in each of the groove portions.

    Abstract: A ridge spirally wound around an outer peripheral cam is held between each pair of followers of a rotatable body including a plurality of such followers planted therearound at equal intervals. The ridge of the outer peripheral cam consists of a gentle slope portion having a minute but substantial lead angle other than zero degree and steep slope portions having large lead angles and being continuous from the gentle slope portion at opposite ends thereof. The steep slope portions at opposite ends of the ridge are juxtaposed to each other in parallel relationship. The rotatable body is rotated at a high speed when the followers are engaged with the steep slope portions but rotated at a slow speed when the followers are engaged with the gentle slope portion of the ridge, as the outer peripheral cam is rotated. The output shaft is connected to the rotatable body. The outer peripheral cam is driven by a control motor adapted to be stopped at a desired angular position.

The cams each have an axis of rotation disposed at right angles to the central axis of the indexing pin carrier component, in whose indexing grooves an associated indexing pin engages.
