  • Patent number: 9057426
Abstract: A swiveling joint system for a horse head on a pump jack includes a working beam, a worm drive, a horse head member, and at least one locking pin. The swiveling joint system improves access to parts of the well because the horse head member can be swiveled out of position instead of being completely disassembled. The locking pin holds the horse head member in alignment with the working beam. When the locking pin is removed, the worm drive controls the swiveling of the horse head member in either direction towards either side of the working beam. The worm drive has a worm gear attached to the horse head member so that movement and position of the horse head corresponds to movement of the worm gear. The horse head member and working beam are rotatable relative to each other on a pivot pin, which can be connected to a lubricator.

Abstract: A curled variable radius lever comprises a lever arm of variable effective length that curls and uncurls about a drive axis. In a preferred arrangement the lever assembly has a plurality of rigid blocks linked together by a chain or spring steel strip. Each block has a pair of walls 11 that face and abut each other in an uncurled, straightened state of the lever arm. The abutment of the walls of the lever arm rigidifies the arm and prevents the arm from bending further in the direction of uncurling when a driving force is applied by users to a handle. The lever may be used with socket sets, yacht winch, fishing rod reel, a bicycle crank or a jack assembly.

  • Publication number: 20130104535
Abstract: A control arm assembly connected with a hydraulic pump allows for the adjustment of pump displacement by turning a threaded adjustment rod clockwise or counter-clockwise to move a half nut connected with a control rod vertically up or down in a slot of an arm to the desired set point. The half nut has a partial thread that engages the thread of the adjustment rod to control the vertical movement. The design allows for the positive repeatable finite adjustment of the half nut with minimal backlash that reduces the difficulty of the setting process in labor and assembly time. Once the desired set point has been met the adjustment rod is clamped tight to the second arm by tightening the nut against the notch to lock up the assembly to prevent any movement.

  • Patent number: 7181992
Abstract: A tripping and re-cocking mechanism (202) is applied to an apparatus (200) by which a shifted apparatus (200) is re-positioned for operation after having shifted from its operational mode. A pivot mount (205) of a second-class lever (204) is connected to a member or casting (209) of apparatus (200). At the point of resistance of lever (204) a roller bearing (215) cooperates with, by latching onto a platform (217), the platform (217) on a standard (221) that is part of apparatus (200), to cock mechanism (202) so that apparatus (200) is returned to its operational position. The shaft (228) of an energized solenoid (227) releases roller bearing (215) from its latched seat on platform (217) in the operation of apparatus (200) thereby shifting it to a non-operational position. Arm (232) re-cocks mechanism (202) to shift apparatus (200) again into its operational position.

Abstract: A thermal pressing machine has a case in which a fixed-side press plate is fixedly provided, a main shaft to which a moving side press plate is attached, a lever arm pivotally attached to the main shaft, a first drive mechanism coupled to a force point at one end of the lever arm, and a second drive mechanism coupled to a supporting point at the other end of the lever arm. The first drive mechanism first causes the lever arm to pivot on the supporting point to greatly move the press plate, and the first drive mechanism is then stopped to operate the second drive mechanism, so that the lever arm pivots on the force point to press the press plate against the press plate.

Abstract: A clutch pedal (1) for a vehicle, in particular, a motor vehicle, includes at least one side plate (2a, 2b) mounted for rotation spindle (3) connectable to the bulkhead of the vehicle. A peg (5) is fixed to one end of a pedal web (4) and slides in a first slot (21) provided in the side plate. A movement mechanism (7) causes the peg to slide in the slot, defining a length (L) between the rotation spindle of the side plate and the other end of the pedal web. A stud (8) is mounted in the side plate (2a) at a distance (R) from the rotation spindle, for receiving the end of the rod of the clutch mechanism of the vehicle. The clutch pedal operates to provide a constant step-down ratio (L/R).

  • Patent number: 6805228
Abstract: A plurality of clutch levers transmit force to a pressure plate of a clutch. The lever ratio of the clutch lever is variable as the clutch lever moves from an engaged to a disengaged state. When the clutch is engaged, the clutch lever presses the pressure plate to engage clutch discs. The lever ratio of the clutch lever is relatively large, allowing for an acceptable clamp load. When the clutch is disengaged, the clutch lever lifts from the pressure plate, disengaging the pressure plate from the clutch discs. When the clutch is disengaged, the lever ratio is relatively small, allowing for more clearance between the pressure plate and the flywheel and an increase in pressure plate lift. By using a clutch lever having a variable lever ratio, both clamp load and clutch lift can be maximized. The conditions exist during the entire lift of the clutch.

  • Patent number: 6651291
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wiper assembly capable of adjusting a wiping angle, which changes the rotating angle of drive arms in accordance with the change of the operating mode (high-speed operating mode or low-speed operating mode) of a wiper assembly by means of an auxiliary motor so that the wiping angle can be properly changed. The wiper assembly capable of adjusting a wiping angle comprises an auxiliary motor mounted on a main frame and having a variable crankshaft for moving the center axis of the variable crankshaft from one position (P1) to another position (P2); and a variable link of which the first end is operatively coupled to one end of the variable crankshaft and the second end is coupled to the first connecting rod, the second connecting rod coupled to one drive arm, and a link rod coupled to the other drive arm. The variable link moves the location of drive arms between the points in accordance with the movement of a pivot (C1 or C2) occurred by operating of the variable crank.

Abstract: A steering wheel includes a boss for fastening the steering wheel to a steering shaft. Among other features, the steering wheel has a pair of lower spokes that are deformable to absorb energy in a collision. The boss conserves space and has relatively long splines for engaging the steering shaft. The boss includes a plate that facilitates insert molding and conserves space. The spokes include integrally formed airbag supports. A bolt retainer is included in the steering wheel. The bolt retainer holds a bolt for tightening the boss on the steering shaft, and the bolt retainer permits one-handed attachment.
