Abstract: An epicycloid planet gear cam that converts rotational movement of a driveshaft into linear movement of an output device is disclosed. An epicycloid planet gear is assembled inside a stationary housing with an internal stationary ring gear. A driveshaft eccentric is connected to a driveshaft. The driveshaft eccentric rotates freely in a mounting hole of the epicycloid planet gear. When the driveshaft rotates, the driveshaft eccentric engages the epicycloid planet gear against the stationary ring gear and causes the epicycloid planet gear to rotate. A cam follower pin attached to an output device is held against a cam track of the epicycloid planet gear. As the epicycloid planet gear rotates, the raised cam track height or the slotted cam track distance from the center of the epicycloid planet gear causes the cam follower pin to move up, down, in, or out thereby moving the output device.

Abstract: An improvement to the Waissi type opposed piston internal combustion (IC) engine is proposed. The engine has at least one pair of aligned and opposed cylinders with one reciprocating double-headed piston assembly in each cylinder pair. The reciprocating motion of the piston is transmitted to the driveshaft by a rotating crankdisk, which is off-centered mounted to the driveshaft. The high friction metal to metal contact between the crankdisk and the piston contact wall is replaced by a combination of a roll resistance and friction under hydrodynamic conditions resulting to a significantly reduced total resistance between the piston and the crankdisk. This is accomplished by utilizing a bearing ring assembly slidably installed on the annular perimeter surface of the crankdisk. When the crankdisk rotates the bearing ring is held in its designed place in a slot bounded laterally only by the connecting members of the integrated double-headed piston assembly.

Abstract: A three-dimensional cam mechanism capable of selecting a cam guide surface shape freely to improve the degree of freedom for selecting a target locus on the follower side, transmitting power between orthogonal axes and performing a reversible operation. A three-dimensional cam guide surface (2 (3)) is formed in a cam (1), and the cam guide surface (2) is caused to guide a cam follower (6 (7)) formed at a predetermined angle at one end of a follower side link (4), so that the rotational movement of the cam (1) is translated into the swinging movement at the other end of the follower side link (4). Abstract: There is disclosed a tool (5) comprising a cam track (A) and cam follower means (B), wherein a width (WA) of at least a portion of the cam track (A) is greater than a width (WB) of the cam follower means (B). The cam follower means (B) is engaged within the cam track (A), the cam follower means (B) being adapted to run in/around the cam track (A) and be thrown between opposing walls (D, E) of the cam track (A). In use, the cam follower means (B) therefore has two degrees of motion, a first defined by the cam track (A), and a second defined by ricochet between opposing walls (D, E).
