Abstract: The present invention is a fastener assembly, and a system including two panels secured together by the fastener. The panels may form part of a container with two portions secured together by the fastener, such as a door and a panel to which the door is hingedly connected. The container may have walls that are formed of a composite material with a metal edge channel. The fastener is suitable for joining panels that are relatively thick, such as those formed of a composite material. The fastener includes a screw rotatable in a body to move a crossbar into engagement with one portion of the container to clamp that portion to another portion of the container. The fastener is tamper resistant and operable completely from the exterior, without need to access the inside end of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 6477924
Abstract: A method for raising and lowering the feed and delivery tables of a printing press utilizes a drive-limiting tool which is attached to a conventional drill motor. The combination is used to turn the rotatable member of the printing press which in turn through the table's raising and lowering mechanism raises and lowers the feed table. The drive-limiting tool ensures that the table raising and lowering mechanism is not overdriven. It does so by automatically slipping off of the rotatable member of the printing press when the table raising and lowering mechanism reaches its upper and lower limits.

  • Patent number: 6401575
Abstract: A wrench cap of molded plastic defines an interior space into which project a plurality of lugs. The lugs engage ribs projecting from a threaded cover for a fuel filter housing. A conventional wrench or wrench handle cooperates with a hex coupling on the wrench cap to rotate the wrench cap and thus the threaded cover. This facilitates removal of the cover from the fuel filter housing so that a filter element in the housing can be changed.

  • Patent number: 6393952
Abstract: The invention is an apparatus that aids in the manual locking and unlocking of four-wheel drive hub mechanisms. Two disc shaped plates are connected together with an elongated section of steel rod of a length of approximately six to eight inches. A channel of approximately ½ inch in width is cut in the front surface of one of the discs for receiving the hub locking lever on the four-wheel drive vehicle. A section of a spongy textured material formed in the shape of a handgrip is wrapped around and secured to the rod section to provide a gripping surface. The extended length of the rod section allows for additional leverage which makes the locking and unlocking of the hub easier.

  • Patent number: 6260451
Abstract: A tool for removing and installing an oil plug of an internal combustion engine comprising a handle, a drive shaft and a tool head. The drive shaft comprises a flexible material suitable for providing improved access to hard to reach oil plugs. The flexibility of the drive shaft also provides a means for limiting torque transmission between the tool and the oil plug, thereby preventing accidental overtightening, and consequent damage to the oil plug. A multitude of tool head designs are also envisioned by the inventor. Each tool head is designed to frictionally engage and retain the oil plug within the tool head during the installation and removal process allowing for easy, single-handed use of the tool during the servicing and repair of an internal combustion engine.
