Abstract: A screw embedder attachment for a hand tool handle is disclosed. The invention allows for the addition of a screwdriver functionality to hand tool handles at the end of the tool handle opposite the working end of the tool. Since the invention is placed over the exterior of the tool handle, it allows for assembly and reassembly of the resulting apparatus without the need for disassembly and reassembly of the tool. The invention may be attached and detached from the tool in a minimal number of steps and without the need for special tools, such that where the invention is not needed for a particular job, but the tool is, the invention may be stowed for later use. The invention may be practiced by hand tool operators desiring to reduce the number of individual tools that need to be carried and exchanged for a particular job. Abstract: A link attachment to a torque wrench providing coaxial action in the reaction turning forces in opposite directions at equal torque, the link attachment has a housing, a ratchet mechanism including a ratchet engageable with a fastener and a drive plate turning the ratchet, a first connecting structure for connecting the housing to a part of the torque wrench providing a reaction turning force and a second connecting structure for connecting a part of the torque wrench providing an action turning force for the at least one lever drive plate, so that a turning action of the torque wrench is converted into a linear action applied to the at least lever drive plate so as to turn the at least one lever drive plate and thereby to turn a fastener by the ratchet, while abutting against a nearby stationary object with the housing to stop the torque wrench from turning around the fastener to be tightened or loosened.

Abstract: A handheld power tool, in particular a power drill or power screwdriver, has a tool holder, which is displaceably received in a housing and which can be driven via a drive unit; a microswitch that can switch the drive unit on and off is provided, which is switchable upon an axial displacement motion of the tool holder via an actuating element. The actuating element is joined axially solidly to the tool holder, so that the axial displacement motion of the tool holder at the same time acts as the displacement motion of the actuating element, which motion actuates the microswitch.

Abstract: A device containing fragments of a failed high torque device such as hydraulic torque device, geared air driven torque machine or impact wrench. The device is a sleeve formed of a woven or web-like material that is positioned around at least a driving or socket end of the high torque device. The sleeve absorbs the impact of fragments upon failure of the high torque device, preventing the fragments from becoming airborne. The sleeve may be assembled with the high torque device during construction of the high torque device, or may be added to the high torque device at a later time. The sleeve may be retro-fit onto the high torque device. The sleeve may be pre-molded, shrink-fit, hot-dipped, slid, rolled or woven onto the high torque device.

Abstract: A multipurpose skateboard tool comprising two separable substantially flat elongated members and a separable chain. The first substantially flat elongated member comprises a socket within one end, a wrench within the opposite end, and a keyway and at least one through hole within the middle portion. The second substantially flat elongated member comprises a wrench within one end, a screwdriver bit on the opposite end, and a rivet and at least one through hole within the middle portion. The two substantially flat elongated members may interlock together via the keyway and rivet mechanism for compact and flat storage. When interlocked, the chain may be inserted through adjacent through holes to prevent separation of the two substantially flat elongated members.

  • Patent number: 7272996
Abstract: A spanner socket for application with conventional hand tools such as ratchet drivers and fixed wrenches employed for imparting torque to a work piece about an axis of rotation includes a generally cylindrical shaped base member which defines a predetermined number of engagement surfaces which are circumferentially arranged around the axis of rotation. The engagement surfaces are employed for releasably coupling with the associated hand tool. Two or more elongated drive pins are carried by the base member for rotation therewith about said axis of rotation. Each drive pin defines an axis of elongation, which is parallel to the axis of rotation and spaced from the axis of rotation for engagement with the work piece for the application of torque thereto.

  • Patent number: 7249541
Abstract: This tested invention, for use with an unmodified hammer (402), is a simple attachment (31) whose fastener-receiving region (57), and fastener-holding apparatus (54), along with a magnetism and support extender (542), allow safe, one-handed starting of a wide range of size and types of fasteners (562), including nails, screws, tacks, and staples. With the attachment, a fastener can be easily started with the usual initial hammer swing and then driven to the desired depth by striking it with the hammer face in the conventional manner with an unbroken rhythm. The attaching mechanism (72) enables attaching to and detaching from a hammer with only one hand. Spacers (202), or tailor forming of the attachment body (32), allow it to fit all of the common household hammers. Alternative holding fingers (314, 316, 318 FIG. 20) handle nonmagnetic fasteners.

  • Patent number: 7162938
Abstract: The present invention is an attachment that fits onto the head of a wrench to magnetically hold a nut. The attachment has a magnetized surface and a side surface to friction fit onto a wrench. Fit is further improved by magnetizing the side surface. By holding the nut, the attachment allows for operation of a wrench in restrictive spaces where manual holding of the nut would be impossible or impracticable. Making side surfaces of the attachment out of plastic allows the attachment to adapt to different sizes of wrench heads. A hole in the attachment allows a bolt to pass through the attachment as it passes through the nut.
