  • Patent number: 11161224
Abstract: A chain sprocket tensioner wrench apparatus for safely and easily loosening engine belt tensioners in tight spaces includes a housing and a frame clip coupled to a bottom edge of the housing configured to selectively engage a frame of a truck. A sprocket is rotatably coupled within the housing and is configured to selectively receive a socket wrench to be driven. A chain stop is coupled to a back edge of the housing. A chain has a proximal end pivotably coupled to the chain stop, extends over the sprocket, and extends down beneath the frame clip. A wrench is pivotably coupled to a distal end of the chain and is configured to selectively engage a belt tensioner of an engine of the truck. Driving the sprocket drive head lifts the chain to pivot the wrench and rotate the wrench drive head to loosen the belt tensioner.

  • Patent number: 9228399
Abstract: A tong assembly for use in make-up or break-out of a tubular. The tong assembly has a pair of chain assemblies connected to hydraulic chain cylinders, a first jaw connected to a first arm for supporting a first tubular, a second jaw connected to a break-out body between the break-out body and the second chain cylinder, and a make-out/break-out cylinder to push the chain cylinders in a make-up rotation or a break-out rotation allowing the assembly to provide changes of direction without changing tong assembly configuration or position.

  • Patent number: 9021923
Abstract: An adaptor tool comprises a locking pin removably engaged with a main body defining a hook portion. The main body is configured to pivot about a pivot pin. The adaptor tool further includes a first link having first and second ends, and a first contact face. The first link is configured to receive the locking pin. A second link includes first and second ends, and a second contact face. The second link is pivotally coupled to the main body via the pivot pin. At least a third link includes first and second ends, and a third contact face. The first, second, and at least third links are pivotally coupled end-to-end such that the first, second, and third contact faces define a circular opening. The circular opening is configured to receive a workpiece such that rotational force applied to the main body rotates the adaptor tool and the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 8939048
Abstract: A device for rotation of a torque tong with at least two diametrically opposite circular arc-shaped segments and gripping devices for holding a pipe substantially perpendicularly to the torque tong's radial plane. To each segment and in abutment thereto there is provided at least one elongated flexible drive element operatively connected to support units and devices for movement of the respective drive element so that the torque tong is rotated in the radial plane. Each drive element is attached at first and second ends to respective securing portions and includes an engagement portion in engagement with and/or abutment against a segment. Rotation of the torque tong is implemented by performing a rectilinear movement of a first of said movement elements, and simultaneously implementing a rectilinear movement of the second of said movement elements in the opposite direction to and substantially parallel to the movement of the first movement element.

  • Patent number: 6427562
Abstract: The invention comprises a chain wrench having a mounting plate with an elongated link chain with one end of the chain pivotally mounted to the plate and extending outward from the plate one edge of the plate. The plate has a plurality of spaced lugs along an opposing edge of the the plate with the chain having a plurality of spaced pins at intervals along the length of the chain whereby the chain may be wrapped from its one end about a work piece with an having its pins located along its intermediate portion of its length inserted in the spaces between the lugs, whereupon a turning tool may be mounted to the mounting plate to turn the mounting plate relative to the work piece to draw the one end of the chain toward the intermediate portion of the chain, and whereupon the tool may be further turned in the same direction to rotate the mounting plate, chain, and work piece about a center axis of the work piece.

  • Patent number: 6264406
Abstract: A tool support for mounting a working tool on a pipe comprises a base having inverted V-shaped saddle portions engaging the pipe and a clamping chain extending between opposite sides of the base for clamping the base on a pipe. A first end of the chain is mounted on one side of the base by a biasing spring arrangement which provides for limited displacement of the end in the direction of tensioning of the chain, and the free end of the chain is adapted to be releasably interengaged with an adjusting mechanism on the opposite side of the base and by which the chain is tensioned to clamp the base against a pipe. A pipe drilling tool is removably mounted on the base and includes a handle by which the tool can be carried and supported during mounting on and dismounting from the base and by which the base and tool can be carried as a unit.
