Advantageously, the tube film removal milling head also removes a weld overlay on one or both sides of a tube in one embodiment.     Abstract: A utility service tee scraping tool having three basic components—a scraper or cutting element, a scraper holder, and an alignment body. The scraper includes a rigid, vertically oriented body to which one or more cutting blades are attached. The scraper holder includes a service pipe tee clamp having two gripping elements with surfaces adapted to fit snugly around the service pipe tee and maintain the tee scraping tool in a fixed position during operation. The tool may be manipulated from above ground. Although particularly suitable for use in keyhole excavations where remote operation of the tool is required, the tool may also be used in traditional excavations.

The carriage to which the cutting tool is mounted is pivoted about a support shaft permitting the carriage and tool to change its angle and orientation relative to the pipe while advancing or retracting.

In yet a further embodiment, tube film removal blades are provided having a curved or rounded edge which can be utilized in milling operations having close quarters. In a preferred embodiment, the milling head cutting blades and/or bevel blades are provided with elongated, slotted bores.

    Abstract: A spiral spline groove machine apparatus for manufacturing a sealed spiral spline pipe connection by machining spiral grooves into the bell and spigot end of a length of pipe. A rotating cutter is adapted to cut a spiral groove in the inside of the bell of the pipe or machine the recessed external groove on the male end of the pipe. The cutter is adapted to float on the surface contour of the pipe to allow for variations in the wall thickness of the pipe and provide a consistent depth for the cut in the wall of the pipe without regard to the symmetry of the circular cross section of the pipe. An exit port machining device is also disclose to cut an exit port connected to the inside spiral groove on the bell end of the pipe. Another unique aspect of the invention is the use of a rotational to linear converter using a lead screw to move an entire rotating assembly having the motor output fixed directly to the cutter without an expansion joint.

    Abstract: A tool for beveling the end of a pipe is comprised of a hollow, tubular body having a central, longitudinal axis of rotation, an inboard coupling end, and an opposite outboard working end. A plurality of longitudinally spaced, transversely directed latching pin bores of equal size are defined through the wall of the tubular body. A core member is disposed coaxially within the tubular body. The core member includes a beveling cutter head and a longitudinal stem having a radially inwardly directed, circumferential latch position groove. A transversely oriented latching pin is engaged in a selected one of the latching pin bores in the body and with the latch position groove of the core stem. This allows alternative selection of each of the latch position bores for insertion of the latching pin. The particular bore selected determines the longitudinal position of the core stem latch position groove within the body that will be aligned with the latching pin.

A cutting surface of the cutting tool is perpendicularly aligned to both the tool frame longitudinal axis and the V-shaped channels. Each channel supports the arrow wherein an arrow longitudinal axis aligns in parallel with the frame longitudinal axis. The arrow is placed in the tool having the interface adjacent to the cutting surface and the assembly is rotated within the channels as the arrow shaft is translated against the cutting surface. The interface is cut by the cutting surface to perpendicularly align the interface with the arrow longitudinal axis.
