  • Patent number: 10232487
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for trimming a module are disclosed. In and embodiment the method includes fixing a rear transverse side of module, guiding the rear cutting head along the rear transverse side thereby cutting off a rear overlapping portion of the overlapping film and releasing the rear transverse. The method further includes moving the module into a region of two longitudinal cutting devices, fixing the module on both longitudinal sides, guiding longitudinal cutting heads along the longitudinal sides thereby cutting off longitudinally overlapping film portions on both longitudinal sides, and releasing the longitudinal sides of the module. The method furthermore includes moving the module into a region of the front cutting device, fixing a front transverse side of the module, guiding a front cutting head along the front transverse side thereby cutting off a front overlapping portion of the overlapping film.

  • Patent number: 8261646
Abstract: Transversal cutting machine comprises feeding means (20) that supply a log of paper (15), for example hygienic paper, to a sawing station at which rolls or stacks (16) are cut off from the log (15) by a blade (25). During the cutting step the log (15) is held by a clamping device (1), divided in two parts (2, 3) arranged respectively upstream from and downstream of a slit (17) through which the blade (25) passes. In particular, the first part (2) and the second part (3) of clamping device (1) are movable relatively so that during the cut the log (15) is locally subject to traction at the same time of the blade (25) driven in the log. This way, during the cutting action of the blade (25) an opening (17) is created on the log (15) having a size at least the same as the thickness of blade (25) same. This makes easier the action of blade (25) since it reduces the friction produced between the blade (25) and the log (15).

  • Patent number: 6560880
Abstract: A versatile saw that can be used as a high-branch-pruning saw, etc., employing an annular internal toothed saw disk having internal teeth on its internal circumference. Each of a pair of openable holders support the periphery of an annular two-piece internal toothed saw disk and maintain the internal toothed saw disk in an annular form with the holders closed. An object is cut by the internal teeth by rotating the internal toothed saw disk maintained in an annular shape while being held by the holders along its periphery. The rotating internal toothed saw disk is capable of stopping at a prescribed position of the holder. Split internal toothed saw disks are held by the holders which are openable. The holders are opened to facilitate the placing of the object inside the internal toothed saw disk. In order to introduce the object inside the internal toothed saw disk, one part of the annular internal toothed saw disk can incorporate a cut section so that the saw disk can be opened at this cut section.

  • Patent number: 5787778
Abstract: In a cutting device having a moving (disc) cutter and a fixed cutter which extends in a cutting direction, wherein the moving cutter moves along the fixed cutter, thereby cutting a medium which is interposed therebetween, a presser member which is movable together with a medium pressing interlocking plate is lowered to press on the medium to fix the same at a portion close to a cutting position since a bearing attached to the moving cutter engages with the medium pressing interlocking plate to press down the same as the moving cutter moves. Since the moving cutter cuts the medium at this state, the cut edge of the medium can be excellent in linearity even if it has low rigidity in the outward-surface direction at right angles to the surface thereof. While the moving cutter does not cut the medium, the presser member is retracted to a standby position.

  • Patent number: 5301584
Abstract: The present invention is a pair of split dies comprises of a pair of fixed die halves, with each fixed die half having an associating movable die insert. The pair of split dies are separated from each other in order to admit a cutting blade therebetween and a variable width opening is formed between each of the fixed die halves and their associating movable die inserts. The movable die inserts move toward the fixed die halves and thereby decrease the width of the openings in response to cam means attaching to the blade which engage movable cam tracks located on the movable die inserts opposite the openings. The openings close on tubing located within the openings so that the tubing is held stationary on either side of where the blade cuts the tubing. The movable die inserts move away from the fixed die halves and thereby increase the width of the openings in response to disengagement with the cam means.

  • Patent number: 4569263
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fine shearing a metal workpiece involves placing the workpiece on a stationary die surface for support and driving a single punch against the workpiece such that at least a portion of the workpiece is placed in compression. The punch is then driven into and through the workpiece along a predetermined path which has a first directional component both perpendicular to and directed toward the die surface and a second directional component both parallel to the die surface and directed into the compressed portion of the workpiece. The punch is driven with a force having components both perpendicular to and parallel to the path of the punch. The force component perpendicular to the punch path is large enough to keep the compressed portion of the workpiece in a plastic state. The force component parallel to the path of the punch is large enough to overcome the shear strength of the workpiece along the path.
