Abstract: A portable belt cutting device comprises a cutting head and a cutting blade movably arranged on the cutting head. The cutting head has a drive mechanism to move the blade from a retracted position to an extended position, such that the blade severs a belt. The drive mechanism is coupled to the blade such that the blade is actively driven in both directions between the retracted position and the extended position. In some embodiments, the drive mechanism comprises a drive spindle which engages a thread formed in the cutting head. The spindle is bi-directionally movable and comprises a torque input geometry. In another embodiment the drive spindle and blade comprise connecting elements that form a positive connection when engaged.

Abstract: A tube cutting apparatus for cutting a continuously fed elongate tube into predetermined lengths including a removable die set which is mounted at an angle to the horizontal and an associated die set changeover table adapted to receive the die set and tilt the same to a horizontal position to facilitate removal thereof and the positioning of a substitute die set.

Abstract: A band-changing apparatus for flying band change which consists of two unwinding stations which are arranged adjacent to a band changer. From the respective unwinding stations, a new band and a running-off band are brought together in the band changer in a V-shaped manner from the top downwards through two channels and enter into a pressure-roller unit rotary stops are provided in the channels for controlling movement of the respective bands. The band changer also possesses two rotary crosscutters for cutting the bands to size. The new band is equipped with an adhesive strip which leads to an adhesive bond with the running-off band in the pressure-roller unit.

Abstract: A convertible siding cutter (10) for cutting vinyl or metal siding, comprises an upper knife assembly (26) pivoted to the front one of a plurality of lower knife assemblies (36, 46) mounted on a base (20). The blade (28) in the upper knife assembly (26) can be interchanged with other blades, and an auxiliary lower knife assembly (58) can be used for conversion to accommodate different sizes and types of siding. A safety clamp assembly (64) is also provided to help keep the user's hands away from the blades when using the cutter (10).

Abstract: A tube cut-off die set includes a compliant cam driver received in a jaw carrying cartridge each adapted to be removably mounted to a die shoe as a separate unit or kit, horizontally and vertically driven tube notching and severing blades which pass through the jaws with the notching blade extending from a cross slide which moves horizontally and has its opposite ends secured during the notching movement, and guide posts having the forward ends of guide bushings rigidified to form a box-like structure to shoulder loads during tube severing. Positioning of a cam drive plate so that a cam slot therein drives the notching blades horizontally when the slot is at its lowest position transfers notching forces to the tube.

Abstract: A die press consisting of: a bed on which a workpiece is supported in operating position; a die holder movable between a retracted position and an extended position; a workpiece holder mounted for movement relative to the bed between a holding position and a release position; and cooperating structure on the die holder, bed, and workpiece holder for moving the workpiece holder from its release position to its holding position as an incident of the die holder moving from its retracted position towards its extended position. The workpiece holder in its holding position maintains a workpiece in operating position on the bed.

Abstract: A welding fixture mounts a self-clearing workpiece clamp having an arm that is pivotally mounted on the fixture and carries over-center toggle linkage for a clamp jaw. A trigger connected to the linkage is engaged by a moving welding head for releasing the clamp jaw, whereupon a spring swings the clamp arm clear of the welding head.

Abstract: A tube cutoff apparatus of the shear knife type is provided with an improved knife holder to reduce the likelihood of fracture. The knife holder and the tube clamping jaws are formed to provide a nesting relationship at the full cut position which increases the blade penetration depth without sacrificing blade support.
