Their slide movement may be initiated by means of a screw spindle connecting the two sliding members. When the sliding members slide upwards the clamping means is firmly clamped in the shaped groove. When they slide in the opposite direction clamping is released.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 1987Date of Patent: March 28, 1989Assignee: Chr. Eisele Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Paul Faig

Patent number: 4805503Abstract: A loaf slicing machine includes a cutting blade arranged to rotate about a center axis thereof while moving around an orbital axis to thereby cut the loaf cyclically, a feed member for intermittently advancing the loaf toward the cutting blade and extending perpendicularly to the cutting blade, and a guide member disposed between the feed member and a path of the cutting blade for guiding the loaf. In order to hold the loaf, an abutment plate is provided which has a surface spaced from the edge of the cutting blade toward a direction of advance of the loaf for permitting the end of the loaf to abut on that surface during each cutting cycle and of which rotational center is aligned with the orbital axis, the abutment plate being arranged to rotate sychronously with the cutting blade. An opening is formed through the abutment plate at a position adjacent the cutting blade for permitting slices as cut to be transferred through the opening.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1987Date of Patent: February 21, 1989Assignee: Omori Machinery Co., Ltd.Inventor: Toshiyuki Yokokawa

Patent number: 4790223Abstract: For separating off a stack of individual shaped items such as bottle neck labels from a stack of strips each carrying several such items, a punching die is used which has a punching contour which corresponds to the desired shape of the cutting line between the individual shaped items. The cutting line also corresponds to the rear contour of the separate stack of individual shaped items. The shape of the cutting line of the punching die is freely selectable. At its rear edge the punching die is smooth and the separated-off stack of shaped items accommodates any compression of the material forming the stack by means of an offset angle so that the remainder of the strip of shaped items has a smooth and perpendicular cut edge.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1987Date of Patent: December 13, 1988Inventor: Gerhard Busch

Patent number: 4736611Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming bolt and center-pilot mounting openings in vehicle wheels, particularly styled-disc vehicle wheels. A preformed rim and disc assembly is engaged and fixtured around the rim bead seat with the inboard disc face resting on a lower die assembly and without plastic deformation to the rim or disc. An upper die assembly having an array of bolt hole punches is moved into piercing-and-coining engagement with the disc to form the bolt openings continued motion of the upper die assembly against the wheel disc pushes the disc and lower die assembly into shearing engagement with a center punch which forms the center-pilot opening. The axes of the bolt openings and/or center pilot opening and/or bead seats may be aligned or offset from each other.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1986Date of Patent: April 12, 1988Assignee: Motor Wheel CorporationInventor: Anwar R. Patent number: 4669346Abstract: A machine for operating on sheet stock workpieces having stock grippers mounted on a work positioning carriage for moving the sheet stock workpiece along first and second relatively transverse paths in the plane of the stock to position the workpiece at predetermined positions relative to the machine tools. Work grippers are mounted on the work positioning carriage for adjustment relative to the carriage when the work grippers are released and the work grippers are automatically clamped against movement relative to the carriage when the work grippers are actuated to grip the stock.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1986Date of Patent: June 2, 1987Assignee: Roper Whitney Co., division of Roper Industries, Inc.Inventor: Roger J. Patent number: 4644834Abstract: A feed lever and a lateral stop with individual guide members spaced apart and arranged in slot-shaped grooves of the metal feed table supported so that they can be raised and lowered on a support. The guide members are each equipped with a guide body possessing a lateral stop in the form of a roller. These rollers come up against the edge to be guided of the sheet metal plate. A guide and clamping device is located alongside of each roller. The apparatus allows sheet metal plates to be accommodated, spaced apart from one another in several stacks, these sheet metal plates being cut at different locations on the cutting knife.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1985Date of Patent: February 24, 1987Assignee: Hammerle AGInventors: Eduard Hanni, Marcus Zweili

Patent number: 4607554Abstract: A cable severing station for severing a flat cable at a position adjacent to electrical connectors to which the cable has been terminated, comprises a cable gripping unit having cable grippers which can be moved between an open position to allow the cable with the connectors thereon to be fed therethrough and a closed cable gripping position; and a cutting second unit for gripping the cable and the connectors and for severing the cable at positions close to the connectors. The cable is first fed through the grippers of the cable gripping unit when these are in an open position, and the cable cutting unit is then moved into the cable gripping unit to carry out the cable severing operations.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1985Date of Patent: August 26, 1986Assignee: AMP IncorporatedInventors: Daniel T. Patent number: 4476753Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for cutting a magnetic core spirally wound from a ribbon of glassy metal. The core is mounted on a mandrel, and a portion of the core is appointed to be cut. A clamping mechanism applies to the outside peripheral surface of said portion, a compressive clamping force directed toward said surface and normal thereto. A positioning mechanism locates and fixes the core and mandrel onto an indexing mechanism. The indexing mechanism moves the core and mandrel to a preselected fixed position, and a cutting mechanism cuts the core.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 1982Date of Patent: October 16, 1984Assignee: Allied CorporationInventors: Hsin L.
