Including Clamping Face Of Specific Structure Patents (Class 83/465)
  • Patent number: 4468995
Abstract: This invention relates with the method for manufacturing frames from aluminum profile rails, which undergo a series of cuts and perforations, done with a mechanism formed by two sections, an upper section which is made up of an upper plate to which a determined number of perforating bolts and knives are attached perpendicularly and a lower plate to which a determined number of blocks with different designs on their faces are affixed, resulting, as a consequence, a number of cavities into some of which aluminum profile rails will be inserted for cutting and perforation; and in others the perforating bolts and knives will penetrate making the cuts on the profile rails possible. Both sections are mounted on a support which by way of removable legs (preferable a tripod) can be positioned for operation.

  • Patent number: 4428264
Abstract: An apparatus for forming an element-free gap in a continuous slide fastener chain. In the apparatus, a reciprocating punch blade has cutting edges along opposite sides and is relieved at opposite ends along the cutting edges so as to form a pair of wing portions disposed one on each side of the punch blade. An elongated slot formed in a die for receiving the cutting edges has at its opposite ends a pair of lateral branches disposed one on each side of the elongated slot in opposite relation to the sides of the punch blade on which the wing portions are disposed. The wing portions and the lateral branches jointly serve to protect a pair of coupling elements disposed adjacent to the opposite ends of the space section from being cut by the punch blade.

  • Patent number: 4428263
Abstract: A high volume food load slicing machine comprising a pair of loaf feed belt conveyors that continuously advance a food loaf along a downwardly inclined path through a collar into a slicing station at which a rotating and orbiting knife slices the load includes a variable speed knife rotation drive independent of the main drive that orbits the knife and drives the loaf conveyors. A hydrostatic speed variator in the drive connection for the conveyors, with speed corrections made by a stepper motor, affords precision control of slice thickness. A split collar and associated sensor afford continuous sensing of the loaf cross section to provide effective slice thickness correction; the collar is of molded machinable resin so that the knife can cut a working surface on the collar to a precise contour. The collar includes vacuum means to hold the butt end of a loaf for slicing.

  • Patent number: 4346636
Abstract: For use with any type of saw and base such as a miter saw which can be set as to angle, the present apparatus comprises a pair of profile members corresponding to different sizes and shapes of conventional mold and such profile members may be supported at a proper angle on the flat bed of a table, such as a miter saw table, so that the piece of mold being cut is placed in a proper face-to-face profile engagement position with the profile member and thereby held in the proper angle and the proper position to be cut exactly in the manner as the mold will occupy when installed on a ceiling or other place. The method is the procedure for positioning the profile member in place, holding same in position, placing the mold to be cut in face-to-face relationship coextensively against the profile member, and cutting same. According to this, two pieces of mold will be cut on each end of each piece so that the matching cuts will fit exactly when installed in place.

  • Patent number: 4329898
Abstract: Apparatus for subdividing a web of wrapping material into sections of predetermined length has a reciprocable carriage for a pair of grippers which are pivotable into engagement with the web to thereby clamp the web against the carriage while the latter moves forwardly. This advances the web through a distance which approximates but is less than the distance necessary to advance the web by the length of a section. The grippers are thereupon disengaged from the web while the carriage continues to move forwardly, and the web is braked by one or more brushes so that two pawls whose pallets are biased against the web can catch up with a pair of marginal notches in the web. The pallets enter the respective marginal notches and complete the forward movement of the web. A mobile knife cooperates with a stationary knife to sever the web and to thus separate a section from the leader of the web while the carriage moves rearwardly.

  • Patent number: 4277996
Abstract: The present apparatus applies force along a line or to a surface through one or more linear or rather longitudinal, elastically expandable or deformable members. The expansion of the elongated member, such as an elastic, reinforced hose or membrane, is transmitted to the tool proper, for example, a strip steel knife or a clamping device, along the entire length of the tool, whereby a linear force application is achieved. Several of such members may be arranged in parallel to obtain substantially a surface area force application. The force application member may also be curved for applying the force, such as a cutting force to an equally curved tool such as a strip steel knife. The force application member is returned to its starting position after a work stroke is completed. The work stroke is performed by expanding the member with the aid of a medium under pressure. The return is accomplished by a spring force or by a similar expansion member.

  • Patent number: 4031788
Abstract: A chop saw for selectively cutting logs to various lengths includes a motor-driven circular saw blade mounted at the outer end of a saw carriage pivoted to a fixed base. A rotary crank mechanism driven by a hydraulic motor on the carriage oscillates the carriage about its pivot to feed the saw blade into and out of a log held in cutting position alongside the carriage by hydraulic cylinder-operated clamp arms which are also mounted on the fixed base. A crankshaft of the rotary crank mechanism carries a cam which operates a hydraulic flow control valve in the hydraulic circuit of the carriage drive motor to reduce the speed of the motor and thus carriage travel only when the saw blade cuts through the log. Limit switches in an electrical control circuit and operated by cams on the crankshaft control the operation of valves in hydraulic circuits for the clamp cylinders and carriage drive motor to coordinate the positions of the carriage with the closing and opening of the clamp arms.
