  • Patent number: 11072031
Abstract: An improved chop saw cutting deck is moveably attached to a chop saw base with a hinge mechanism. The axis of the hinge mechanism is perpendicular to the vertical axis of the chop saw's cutting wheel, thereby allowing a change to the angle of inclination between the cutting wheel and materials placed on the cutting deck. For certain material profiles, this alternate inclination angle presents a smaller material surface area to the cutting wheel, and translates to cooler, faster, and more efficient abrasive cutting action. The cutting deck is supported in its inclined position by a deck support means, and may be reconfigured back to a horizontal orientation for effective cutting of various other material profiles. In addition, the preferred location of the hinge axis provides a consistent, lateral line of elevation across the cutting deck, thereby assuring continuous contact of elongated materials with supplemental material supports, such as sawhorses, throughout the cutting deck's range of motion.

  • Patent number: 7555976
Abstract: The subject invention provides a portable saw table assembly for cutting a material longitudinally, laterally, and at various angles thereto. The assembly includes a first and a second table rail being parallel and spaced from each other and each extending between a proximal end and a distal end. A saw rail is moveably supported by the first and the second table rails for moving longitudinally along the table rails between the proximal and the distal ends and a mounting plate is moveably supported by the saw rails to allow movement of the mounting plate laterally along the saw rail between the first table rail and the second table rail. A saw plate is rotateably supported by the mounting plate for carrying a saw to cut the material. A guide bar is disposed diagonally relative to the first and the second table rails and engages the saw plate to guide the saw plate diagonally in response to simultaneous movement of the saw rail longitudinally and the mounting plate laterally.

  • Patent number: 7464737
Abstract: A woodworking machinery jig and fixture system has a stop with a half-dovetail surface and can be provided with one or more T-slots. The half-dovetail surface can be clamped against a half-dovetail surface on the support, or against a flat surface. In one of the stops, the base has multiple through holes, any one of which can be used to mount a flip stop arm so as to vary the height of the arm or use a zero clearance fence. A track for the system has a flange that helps locate the track along the rear corner of a wood fence and also helps secure the track to the wood fence with fasteners through holes that can be drilled in the flange using a drill guide groove formed in the flange. Tension screws are provided in the stop and in the base for eliminating play between the hinge pin, the flip stop and the base. A lens is received in a groove of the stop arm and extends therefrom in position to view a ruler that is mounted on top of the support, facing up.
