Adjustable Angular Relationship Patents (Class 83/473)
  • Patent number: 5040444
Abstract: A saw blade position setting apparatus of a working table such as a table saw which is mounted on a support frame and to which a blade assembly is mounted with a handle assembly including a handle and a handle shaft held by the support frame to be rotatable and operatively connected to the blade assembly. The blade assembly is supported by a support member connected to the handle shaft. A clutch mechanism is selectively transmitting rotation of the handle to a blade assembly elevating mechanism and a blade assembly inclining mechanism. The elevational position and the inclination of the blade assembly are adjusted in accordance with the rotation of the handle assembly. A rack is secured to the support frame and the handle assembly is moved along the rack to a predetermined angle position. A lock lever is disposed in operative association with the handle assembly and operatively connected to the clutch mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4884485
Abstract: A plate cutting device is provided which is capable of being used to cut a plate along a curve. It is a design directed to the disadvantages such as labor-consumption, awkwardness, incapability of cutting along a curve, and incapability of cutting a large size plate of conventional cutting tools. The device is characterized in that it comprises a body associated with a curved frame, a toothed rolling wheel, and a cutting wheel. The two wheels are arranged slantly and are at a small distance from each other. In plate work, a plate with a line drawn on it is put between the wheels and the ratchet rotating wheel above the rolling wheel is swung such that the toothed rolling wheel is rotated in the same direction and the teeth thereon grab into plate and cooperate with the cutting wheel to cut the plate. The cutting direction can be controlled simply by moving the plate in a suitable direction.

  • Patent number: 4827819
Abstract: A radial arm saw includes a saw assembly pivotally mounted to a support unit which, in turn, is mounted to a wall or other support structure. The saw assembly includes a column that is connectable at one end to a saw table frame or the support unit so as to be affixed in upright operative position during operation and disposed during non-operation in a lateral, storage position. A radial arm and saw unit are supported from the other end of the column. Preferably, the column is pivotal between a lateral stored position and an upright operative position. Also, the saw assembly is pivotal relative to the support unit between a vertical stored position and a horizontal operative position. A leg locking sleeve may be released to deploy the saw assembly from its stored position into its operative position. The support column may be detachable to shift the radial arm saw between operative and stored positions.

The elevation control lever is also coupled to a bevel control means for tilting the saw blade (and its driving motor) with respect to the table. The combination of these translational and bevel movements results in a relatively large traverse of the elevation control lever. The elevation control lever projects through an opening in the front panel of the housing for the table saw, and this opening is of sufficient size and shape to accommodate the total excursion of the elevation control lever in its traverse. An articulated cover means is provided within the housing to prevent dust from entering into the housing via the opening, as well as to prevent inadvertent contact with the operating mechanism.
