  • Patent number: 6925921
Abstract: A punch includes a base with a base plate mounted thereto and a plurality of punch units are fixedly connected to the base plate by bolts. Each punch unit has a bottom plate and a casing which is connected to the bottom plate so as to define a receiving slot between the bottom plate and the casing. A punch member movably extends through the casing and a spring is mounted to the punch member such that a lower end of the punch member may extend through the casing, the receiving slot, the bottom plate and the base plate. Two positioning blocks extend from the bottom plate and are engaged with a connection hole defined in the base plate so as to prevent the punch unit from sliding or rotating relative to the base plate. A handle is pivotably connected to the base plate and has a plurality protrusions on an underside thereof such that the punch members are pushed by the protrusions.

Abstract: A punching device for punching a hole in a sheet of material, comprising a metal body having an upper part and a lower part each having a front end and a rear end and an aperture between the two ends. The apertures have substantially identical shape and size and being horizontally aligned with each other. The upper and lower body parts are interconnected at their rear ends and vertically spaced apart to form a horizontal planar gap therebetween into which a said sheet may be inserted for punching. The punching device includes a punching die having a cross-section of a substantially identical shape and size as the apertures and supported within the upper aperture for downward movement across the gap into the lower aperture thereby punching a hole in a said sheet. A spacer is located in the gap for limiting undesirable downward movement of the upper body part relative to the lower body part during a punching action.

As the punch tool and piston are driven to their extended position by a press ram or some such other power device, the volume of the gas chamber decreases thereby increasing the pressure within the gas chamber such that when the ram is retracted, the pressure of the gas acting on the piston displaces the piston and the punch tool to their retracted positions. Abstract: In a method and apparatus for rotating loose laminations in a loose lamination die, a strip is fed through the die to a rotatable blanking chamber of a blanking station. There, a punch engages with a die ring to punch a lamination free from the strip. The rotatable blanking chamber is biased in an upwardly direction. When the punch is not engaging with the die ring, the rotatable chamber is in an upward position wherein a gap develops between laminations retained at a bottom of the rotatable chamber, and those laminations lying directly below the rotatable chamber. The rotatable chamber can then be rotated without damage to the laminations at the gap because of the presence of the gap. Thereafter, a succeeding lamination can be punched after the rotation has occurred. As the punch engages the strip on top of the die ring, the rotatable chamber is pushed downwardly so that the gap at the bottom of the rotatable chamber disappears.

In such a press apparatus, the passive cam is fitted onto the guide base so that when the guide posts which are mounted across the guide base are removed, the passive cam can be lifted up and dismounted.

Abstract: A punch includes a first member and a second member which has two lugs extending therefrom which are pivotally connected to the first member. Two apertures are defined through the second member. A transverse frame is connected between the two lugs and two punching tools movably extend through the transverse frame. Each punching tool has the first end thereof contacting the underside of the first member and the second end of each punching tool extends through the transverse frame and is located in alignment with the aperture corresponding thereto. A first end of a rod rotatably extends through the second member and the first member, wherein a second end of the rod movably extends through the second member. A handle is pivotally connected to the first end of the rod so that the handle is pivoted relative to the first member to extend the distance between the punching tools and the handle.

Abstract: A paper punch has an inner punch and an outer punch movably received with respect to each other. The outer punch has a first contour punch so as to be able to punch a hole in a piece of paper with the same contour as that of the first contour punch, and the inner punch has a second contour punch so as to punch a small hole in a piece of paper with the same contour as that of the second contour punch. Because the second contour punch moves first and the first and the second contour punches are placed concentrically, a piece of paper is then able to be punched twice by the first and the second contour punches to have an attractive shape.

A drive plate is slidably displaceable in the housing. The drive plate includes a protrusion extending from a surface. The drive plate is preferably pivotally joined to the handle with a second pivot connection remote from the first pivot connection. A punch is disposed in the housing and operably engages the protrusion of the drive plate such that displacement of the drive plate in the housing causes operation of the punch.

Abstract: A slider includes a rotary blade holding case and a guide member. A rotary blade bearing portion is provided on the rotary blade holding case. A shaft extends through a rotary blade while being clamped with a bearing member and a safety plate. After the shaft is coupled with the bearing portion, the guide member is coupled with the rotary blade holding case. Thereby, parts other than the shaft are adapted to be molded with a single material so as to reduce the manufacturing processes of the slider and the cost thereof. In addition, the rotary blade and the safety plate are mounted on the slider. If the slider is removed from the guide rail in the state where the rotary blade is in a unit with the slider, fingers are prevented from contacting the rotary blade, and the rotary blade can be easily replaced together with the slider.

Abstract: The invention provides a device for cutting open envelopes and punching filing holes into documents, and includes a body coupled to a base, the base having a two-section feeding surface along which an envelope, or other one or more documents are introduced into the device. The base is provided with a slot extending across the base, and a cutting blade having at least one cutting edge and being slidably guided in the slot, at least a portion of an edge of the slot in the base serving as stationary counter-edge to the cutting blade. At least two hole punches are slidably guided in a first section of the body; a corresponding member of cutting die holes are located in the body. A pressure-applying handle is hingedly articulated to the body for causing both the cutting blade and the hole punches to move towards the two-section feeding surface. First and second restoring springs respectively cause the cutting blade and the punches to move away from the feeding surface when the pressure-applying handle is released.
