Spiral Type Cutter Patents (Class 83/680)
  • Publication number: 20120103149
Abstract: An apparatus and method for spirally slicing meat are disclosed. In one embodiment, a meat stabilizer apparatus includes a paddle; an arm attached to and extending from the paddle; and a coupling assembly that couples the arm to a meat cutting assembly. In another embodiment, a spiral slicing apparatus includes a cutting assembly having a knife blade coupled with a knife carriage; a meat support apparatus having a rotatable turntable coupled with a drive assembly; and a meat stabilizer apparatus having a paddle and an arm attached to and extending from the paddle. In another embodiment, a method for spirally slicing meat includes (1) rotating a meat product about a first axis on a turntable; (2) stabilizing the rotating meat product along its exterior surface with a meat stabilizer apparatus comprising a paddle coupled with and extending from an arm; and (3) spirally slicing the meat product in a direction generally transverse to the first axis.

  • Patent number: 4630658
Abstract: A device for disintegration of wood material such as roundwood, tree-tops, branches, waste wood, etc to firewood of a suitable length, said device comprising cutting members for the disintegration. In order to reduce the energy need the invention device comprises two cutting members which rotate in opposite directions and are provided with knives on their insides, one of the two cutting members being arranged to actuate by its knife material fed between the two cutting members in one direction while the other cutting member is arranged to actuate by its knife the material in the opposite direction for cutting off the material between the knives of the two cutting members.

  • Patent number: 4087131
Abstract: A drag bit excavating device comprising a core extending along an axis; a bit carrier supported on the core; cutter bits supported by the carrier along a three dimensional spiral having constant pitch and increasing radius along at least a portion of the axis, the carrier being relieved to provide radially extending spaces between the turns of the spiral; a frame supporting the core, carrier, and bits for rotation about and advance along the axis; and a drive to provide rotation, whereby the bits slot the material to be excavated while the material between portions of the resulting slot extends into the spaces to be subsequently broken away.

  • Patent number: 4043238
Abstract: A cutting implement having a plate with a curved, sharpened edge which is rotated to traverse the location of a work piece. The plate is shaped so that the rate of advance of the sharpened edge through the location decreases as the angle of rotation increases, thereby compensating for the gradual reduction in the mechanical advantage, and producing a nearly constant power requirement.
