    Abstract: A band saw machine has two deflection pulleys arranged one above the other in the vertical direction, an endless saw band, which is guided around the deflection pulleys and which has an upward running portion and a downward running portion, and a machine frame, which has a saw neck for holding at least the upper deflection pulley. The deflection pulleys are arranged substantially parallel to a front edge of the machine frame, so that both the upward running portion and the downward running portion of the saw band face towards the front edge with their cutting edges. The saw neck is arranged offset from the deflection pulleys from the front edge (6) to the rear. Both the upward running portion and the downward running portion of the saw band are at least partially exposed between the deflection pulleys.

    Abstract: A quick change chain saw system includes a swing arm and a hydraulic clamp device. The swing arm extends from the hydraulic clamp device. The swing arm retains drive sprocket components and is retained by a tree harvester or wood processor unit. The hydraulic clamp device includes a hydraulic clamp block, a puck plate, a clamp plate and a detent pin. The puck plate includes a base plate and three stud projections that is actuated with a plurality of pucks in the hydraulic clamp block. Three stud projections extend from the base plate and are inserted through the hydraulic clamp block. The clamp plate is secured to the three stud projections. A spring tensioner is used to bias the chain bar. A retraction tool is used to retract the hydraulic clamp device. The detent pin is used keep the hydraulic clamp in a retracted position for changing the chain blade.

    Abstract: A tensioning mechanism for a band saw includes a tension spring assembly coupled with a sliding tension bracket which is adjustably coupled with an upper arm of the band saw. The sliding tension bracket engages an upper band wheel which couples with a band saw blade. A cam assembly is coupled with the tension spring assembly, the cam assembly imparts a rotational force which is translated into a linear tensioning force by the tension spring assembly upon the band saw blade. A cover assembly is selectively engaged with the cam assembly through use of a biasing assembly. The cover assembly includes an index indicator for identifying an index position and includes a handle which enables a user to selectively engage and rotate the cover assembly. The rotation of the handle in turn rotates the cam assembly applying the rotational force which is translated into the tensioning force.

    Abstract: An automatic carousel-type meat cutting machine in which slabs of meat are placed between pairs of rotating jaws that move around a center vertical axis. One jaw in each pair of jaws is spring-biased for gripping the meat, but the weight of the meat will cause it to move downwardly by gravity and rest on a meat-supporting horizontal and stationary platform. A section of the platform is made vertically adjustable with respect to the stationary part and may be adjusted to determine the thickness of the slices of meat cut from the slabs of meat. The stationary and adjustable sections form a complete circle and they support the slabs of meat which are moved by the pairs of meat guiding pairs of jaws. A horizontal portion of an endless band saw lies flush with the plane of the horizontal fixed platform section and the adjustable platform section is positioned therebelow to determine the thickness of the slice.
