Chords Patents (Class 84/613)
  • Patent number: 11948542
Abstract: Computer-based systems, devices, and methods for generating musical note sequences are described. One or more musical composition(s) stored in digital media include one or more data object(s) that encode notes and/or note sequences. At least one note sequence is processed to form a time-ordered sequence of parallel notes, which is analyzed to determine a k-back probability transition matrix for the at least one note sequence. An attribute, such as a style, of the at least one note sequence is thus encoded and used to generate new note sequences that embody a similar attribute or style. In some implementations, the at least one note sequence may include a concatenated set of note sequences representative of a particular library of musical compositions.

  • Patent number: 11908440
Abstract: [Problem] To provide an arpeggiator enabling musically natural arpeggio playing to be achieved, and a program comprising a function therefor. [Solution] In the present invention, a synthesizer 1 resets the number of octaves in an octave counter memory 12d to zero at the beginning of each bar when an octave reset function is on. Due to this configuration, sounds generated at the beginning of each bar, that is, when the step count is 0, all have the same note number. Consequently, a sound generation timing-based cycle of an arpeggio pattern of each bar can be synchronized with a pitch variation-based cycle, making it possible to give a listener the impression that a consistent phrase is being played.

  • Patent number: 11874870
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems, methods, and user interfaces for generating a soundtrack using integrated live data from an information system. In this way, the audio presentation for an organization can be automated utilizing meaningful data that is converted into unique sounds based on defined criteria that results in an almost endless culmination of songs providing a story unique to the organization. To do so, data is aggregated from a number of sources (e.g., analytics data, network activity, and the like). The data is converted into observables that can influence the selection of a base track comprising a measure of notes. A soundtrack is generated by applying the observables to the base track, the observables causing changes in one or more of the measure of notes, scale, tonic, tempo, or volume of the soundtrack.

Abstract: A sound source for an electronic percussion instrument and sound production control method thereof are provided. An electronic drum sound source device performs a weighting operation on four pieces of waveform information (pitch envelope, amplitude envelope, start phase) stored in a waveform table according to the beating conditions (hitting point position, velocity) based on the output from a struck sensor of an electronic drum pad. The electronic drum sound source device creates a sine wave on the basis of the waveform information whereon the weighting operation was performed, and generates musical sounds (sounds of percussion instrument) by synthesizing the sine wave with the waveforms of residual waveform data whereon the weighting operation was performed. The sine wave is not synthesized with waveform data other than the residual waveform data, and thus consistent musical sounds with no phase interference can be reproduced.

The method comprises generating a set of the most frequently occurring note pitches in ascending pitch order that matches an interval pattern, and detecting out-of-key pitches that lie outside of this interval pattern. One or more potential key sequence bifurcations are identified which represent a list of possible key sequences according to forwards and backwards analysis. By finding patterns of repetition in the chordal sequences that may be generated according to these key sequence bifurcations, a key sequence that allows the most frequently recurring chord sequences may be chosen. Chord sequences may be analyzed by using ghost chords, temporary harmonic structures that are created, updated and finalized over time according to a combination of essential and inessential note fragments. The method may include the steps of obtaining an input chord, disassembling the chord into at least one base note and a plurality of individual voices, arranging a predetermined number of voices of the chord according to at least one predefined rule, and assigning at least one set of pitches to a plurality of cells of an electronic device, said set of pitches corresponding to the base note and arranged predetermined number of voices of the chord.

  • Patent number: 9214143
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a music editing application that enables a user to compose and edit note characteristics, e.g., via a touch-sensitive display. The GUI can display a portion of a music track including note events. In response to receiving a user selection of a note event and a user indication for editing a note event, the GUI can display a menu providing a list of characteristics. The characteristics can include an option for associating at least one of several virtual instruments or one of several articulations with the note event. Upon receiving a user input indicating a characteristic, the matrix editor can associate the note event with the characteristic based on the user input. The music editing application can allow the user to edit additional note characteristics (e.g., an instrument, an articulation) because of the extended capacity for data associated with each note event.

Abstract: A system and method for conforming an audio input to a musical key. Audio input is received and the musical key is determined. Sequentially for each consecutive note, a pitch value for each note and an interval between each preceding and subsequent note is determined; alternative subsequent notes based on the musical key and the pitch value of the subsequent note are determined; each interval between each alternative subsequent note and each respective note of the alternative subsequent notes corresponding to the preceding note is scored based on the interval between the preceding note and the subsequent note of the audio input; and a best interval is selected for each alternative subsequent note. A best-match note is selected for each note of the audio input based on the best intervals of all the notes, and each audio input note is conformed to a frequency of the best-match note.

Abstract: Individual chords and bar lines are extracted from an acquired chord chart described in text. Further, musical time information indicative of a musical time of music data to be generated is acquired, chord progression information is generated by allocating in-bar relative time positions to the extracted individual chords in accordance with the musical time indicated by the acquired musical time information and the extracted bar lines. A chord chart display can be provided based on the generated chord progression information. Further, accompaniment pattern data is acquired, and automatic accompaniment data can be generated by controlling the acquired accompaniment pattern data in accordance with the generated chord progression information.

  • Patent number: 9129583
Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) for an audio editing application enables a user to easily and conveniently shift a temporal and/or pitch of a sequence of note events within a musical piece, e.g., via a touch-sensitive display. The GUI displays a set of note events on a matrix grid and a subset of the note events (e.g., selected by the user) on a note events grid that overlaps the matrix grid. The note events grid is moveable with respect to the matrix grid such that the subset of note events is shifted against the remaining note events while the note events within the subset maintain a spatial relationship with respect to each other. Further, the user can shift the note events grid (and the note events therein) to any location within the matrix grid, without unintentionally snapping the note events to a nearest grid location on the matrix grid.

  • Patent number: 9035162
Abstract: A synthetic multi-string musical instrument captures a stream of expressive gestures indicated on a multi-touch sensitive display for note/chord soundings and associated performance effects and embellishments. Visual cues in accord with a musical score may be revealed/advanced at a current performance tempo, but it is the user's gestures that actually drive the audible performance rendering via digital synthesis. Opportunities for user expression (or variance from score) include onset and duration of note soundings, tempo changes, as well as uncued string bend effects, vibrato, etc. Gesturing mechanism are provide to allow user musicians to sound chords without having to register precisely accurate multi-touch screen contacts. This can be especially helpful for mobile phone, media player and game controller embodiments, where there is generally limited real-estate to display six (6) or more strings, and user fingers are generally too fat to precisely contact such strings.
