Straight-line Light Ray Type Patents (Class 89/200)
  • Patent number: 11768057
Abstract: A device comprised of bubble level inserted into and secured within a cavity located above the rifle grip and behind the barrel to facilitate the measurement and compensation of the rifle's cant while lining up the rifle's sights. The device is precision machined to allow the bubble to be aligned with the axis of the barrel to produce a true “zero-cant” condition. Graduation markings are placed on either left or right of the bubble level to allow the user to better judge the relative degree of cant. A light source is placed adjacent to the bubble level to illuminate cant for a shooter in a dark environment. Methods of using the embedded cant indicator for precision shooting are presented.

  • Patent number: 11624586
Abstract: The invention relates to an adjustment apparatus of a reticle device of a telescopic sight, which is arranged in a housing of the reticle device, wherein a moving direction is converted into a translational movement by means of two regulating caps as adjusting devices via rotational movements of the regulating caps occurring in steps and wherein one of the two regulating caps has a fine adjustment and the other regulating cap has a coarse adjustment. The reticle device can be connected to the housing via an annular stationary fastening saddle on the regulating cap for the fine adjustment. The two regulating caps can be rotated independently of each other by a driving pinion and a central driving spindle. An adjusted scale position of the one regulating cap remains unchanged by the actuating of the other regulating cap.

  • Patent number: 9473712
Abstract: Systems and methods prevent friendly fire using infrared object recognition. An IR projector projects a beam of IR radiation at a first wavelength onto the object and an IR detector, having a field of view of the object, detects IR fluorescence from the object, where a wavelength of the fluorescence is a function of the first wavelength. The system includes a memory for storing software having machine readable instructions that, when executed by a processor, perform the steps of: (a) controlling the IR projector to generate IR at the first wavelength; (b) controlling the IR detector to capture the object fluorescence; and (c) identifying the object as friendly or non-friendly based upon the object fluorescence. The system further includes an inhibitor for preventing firing of a gun or missile when the object is identified as friendly.

  • Publication number: 20110174150
Abstract: The multi-barrel automatic weapon centerline aiming laser (MAWCAL) is a direct solution to the problems inherent in the aiming of a standard military multi-barrel automatic weapon, and it specifically improves the utility of the rifle-caliber multi-barrel automatic weapons in counter-terrorism operations. The MAWCAL consists of three claims which together greatly increase the accuracy of all multi-barrel automatic weapons. The first claim is the mounting of a laser on the centerline of the multi-barrel automatic weapon. The second claim is the process of aligning the beam in the centerline of the multi-barrel automatic weapon. The third claim is the selection of key parameters (laser divergence, manufacturing and assembly tolerances, and adjustment) so that the apparent radius of the laser (while rotating) is closely related to the ballistic drop of the bullet over the effective range of the weapon.

  • Patent number: 7350329
Abstract: A rifle scope system allows adjustment of the scope while a shooter maintains the shooting posture and the scope sight picture. The scope system comprises an adjustment system comprising an electromechanical mechanism that responds to a signal from a remote controller manipulated by the shooter without having to significantly disturb the shooting posture. The adjustment system allows the shooter to adjust the scope's point of aim to coincide with a bullet's point of impact at a target. Such adjustment can be performed either by the shooter. Alternatively, such adjustment could be performed by a processor configured to adjust the point of aim based on a ballistic parameter associated with the bullet or the shooting environment. The adjustment system allows such processor-determined adjustments to be effected in a quick manner.
