The controller is configured to apply a first stabilization parameter to at least a portion of the visual data to produce a stabilized view, to provide the stabilized view and a reticle to the display, and to apply a second stabilization parameter to stabilize the reticle relative to the stabilized view in response to motion.

    Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a weapon having an eccentrically-pivoted barrel (1) that is mounted on a movable base (2), and to a method of elevating and stabilizing such a barrel. A drive mechanism (3) acts between the barrel and the base to permit and enable the elevation of the barrel relative to the base to be selectively changed. A compensation device acts between the barrel and base to compensate for the unbalance of the barrel. The compensation device includes a gyroscope (13) mounted on the barrel and arranged to provide an output signal, a set point generator (12), a closed-loop control device (10) and an actuating element (16). The actual position of the barrel is sensed by the gyroscope, which supplies its output signal to the set point generator. The set point generator produces a set force value as a function of the gyroscope output signal.

    Abstract: A breech plug support mechanism for a launcher barrel having a removable ech plug comprising a handle connected to the plug by at least one leg means, the handle having a pivot arm connected thereto, the pivot arm including a traverse rod and arranged parallel to the barrel, at least one bracket connected to the barrel and having a rotator connected to the bracket, and wherein the traverse rod rotatably engages the rotator for rotating the plug adjacent the barrel during loading of the launcher. The traverse rod includes a stop key member for engaging a slot within the rotator to control the rotational movement of the traverse rod. Additionally, the pivot arm at the end nearest the plug includes a sleeve having a key slot which engages a key on the handle leg to maintain alignment of the plug with the locking ring therefor.

    Abstract: A bolt assembly is provided for a double-barrel firearm, such as a rifle or a shotgun. The bolt assembly is adapted to fit in the receiver of the double-barrel firearm. The bolt assembly comprises a bolt body which connects to first and second breech bolts, and which also couples to a bolt collar. The bolt collar has a bolt handle for operating the bolt assembly. The bolt body and breech bolts have recesses for accepting first and second firing pin assemblies. The firing pin assemblies include first and second cocking pieces, which are both cocked by means included in the bolt collar. Once cocked, the cocking pieces can be released independently of each other for firing using trigger means. Pulling the bolt assembly rearwards ejects the fired cartridges through an ejection port on the receiver. The receiver also includes a cartridge injector port which couples to a magazine capable of storing additional cartridges.

    Abstract: A primer feed mechanism for automatically feeding unfired primers to, and extracting fired primers from, an artillery piece. A magazine having a rotatable cylindrical drum carrying a plurality of primer cartridges is detachably mounted adjacent the breach block of an artillery piece. A user actuable release handle controls movement of a reciprocable mounted camplate. Movement of the camplate in one direction indexes the rotatable drum to align a fresh primer cartridge with the firing chamber of the artillery piece. Such movement of the camplate also drives a rearwardly positioned bolt toward the breach block of the artillery piece thereby driving the unfired primer cartridge into the firing chamber. Movement of the camplate in the opposite direction causes the bolt to extract the fired primer cartridge from the firing chamber and back into the magazine drum.
