  • Patent number: 7097455
Abstract: An integral, one-piece silanated particle impregnated gutta percha core/cone technique employs a thin layer of a luting agent, such as glass ionomer cement with a machined gutta percha core/cone, precisely matches the preparation, thereby reducing leakage and achieving a hermetic seal. The hermetic seal is further enhanced by a mono-block bond that occurs between the silanated particles in the gutta percha and the appropriate chemical sealant. Optional cryogenic treatment of the gutta percha material changes its molecular weight, making it stiffer and conducive to forming an integral, one piece core/cone, without the need for a separate carrier core to install the tapered gutta percha core/cone within the root canal. Additionally, the tapered body of the core/cone may be reticulated in a slightly three dimensional texturized framework to increase surface area and therefore increase retention. Optional line demarcation indicia are also placed on the core/cone.

  • Patent number: 7059140
Abstract: A high throughput, short batch cycle commercial ice making machine produces salt containing, milk containing or beverage containing commercial ice, which resists melting in convenient sizes for mobile food carts, market produce, or fish displays. The machine introduces super-cooled liquid, that is in a liquid state while exposed to a temperature below freezing, into a batch of pre-formed hollow molds of one or more horizontally oriented ice forming freezing trays oriented horizontally. Using vapor compression refrigeration, the machine produces a plurality of supercooled ice segments in pockets within the freezing tray. The supercooled ice segments are rapidly subjected to a short, temporary contact with a high heat source from a sleeve integral with the freezing tray compartments, along a peripheral bottom surface of the ice segment accommodating freezing tray molds. This temporarily melts a bottom surface of each ice segment, lubricating it and loosening it.

  • Patent number: 7056254
Abstract: A non-slip continuously variable transmission (CVT) uses the positive engagement of gear teeth and does not rely on friction to transmit torque. The transmission has a ring gear with spur gear teeth at its periphery and conical teeth at its top surface adjacent to an offset circular track. The circular track or channel guide is a slightly smaller diameter than the ring gear and is positioned within the ring gear. Short plates with worm gears pivoted on cantilever brackets are constrained to move within the circular path defined by the channel guide. Due to the offset from the ring gear, a plate traversing this path will engage the conical teeth of the ring gear over a short arc of travel as the worm gear enters and then leaves engagement. This ability to move the ring gear over an arc by passing a worm gear plate around the near region of the circular channel can be reversed in both direction and in principal by having the ring gear move the worm gear plate.
