  • Patent number: 4537152
Abstract: The milk claw has a frusto-conical cover fitting on and oriented to the bowl. The four inlets to the cover are downwardly and tangentially arranged on the cover so incoming milk hugs the inside wall of the cover as it swirls around the cover for discharge into the bowl. The bowl has a downwardly spiraled path leading to the outlet arranged on a radius of the bowl. A dam separates the start of the spiral path in the bowl from the outlet and serves to prevent the flow at the outlet from interfering with the flow entering the bowl.

  • Patent number: 4537100
Abstract: The socket wrench extension is provided with a push-on/quick release locking arrangement. The extension has a square drive end having a transverse bore in which the lock balls are mounted for movement between a lock position in which one ball projects from one end of the bore far enough to engage a cooperating cavity in the drive recess of a socket or other tool and a release position in which both balls lie within the cross section of the drive end. One end of the bore being closer to the drive end than the other end of said bore. An axially extending groove intersects the end of the bore further from the end of the extension. A sliding member moves between a lock position and a release position and has said lock tab engaging one of said balls when the member is in its lock position. The member has a limited range of movement enabling the lock tab to be raised above the groove by means of force applied to the tab by the balls.

  • Patent number: 4534416
Abstract: Movement of a wing frame to folded position moves a locking member into position to be engaged by the arm which actuates the wheels to lowered position. When engaged, the lock prevents the wheels from being raised. To disengage the lock the wing must be unfolded first to enable the locking lever to rise out of the way when the arm is actuated to disengage the lock. The entire operation is controlled hydraulically and the farmer need not get off his tractor to lock or unlock the rig.

  • Patent number: 4530248
Abstract: The dynamometer has a fixed frame in which a Hall effect generator measures the flux density at a location indicative of the flux in the gap between the rotor and the inductor rings. The gap flux density is influenced by the flux induced by the field and the opposing emf generated in the rings as the rotor rotates. The Hall voltage H.sub.V is related to and substituted for the flux density B in the formula Torque ##EQU1## where r and s are constants proportional to eddy resistance and inductance and f is the frequency in cycles per second. The Hall voltage and a speed pulse signal are fed into computer means to provide a direct readout for torque, horsepower and speed.

  • Patent number: 4514015
Abstract: In both the socket linkage and the ball bearing assembly the formed metal engages the curvature of the ball more than 90.degree. which retains the parts in assembled relationship. The forming is accomplished by cupping metal into a die with clearance between the die and the punch less than the metal thickness to cold extrude the metal past the minimum clearance. In the case of the socket linkage the ball is used as the punch and the forming operation completes the assembly of the ball to the socket. Each race of the ball bearing assembly must be stripped from the curved forming part (die or punch) before final assembly with the balls. If the stripping operation deforms the metal past its elastic limit, the desired shape can be restored by use of a straight walled forming part before or after the races have been assembled with the balls between the races.

  • Patent number: 4410248
Abstract: The microfiche reader has two lenses carried by a segment mounted on an eccentric pivot which can be adjusted to move the pivot and, therefore, the lenses are in an eliptical orbit which permits the lens in the operative position to be centered on the optical path. When the segment is shifted to move the other lens into position that lens will be centered. Each lens is focused by moving the associated focusing slide in and out to move the parallel cams under the bosses carried by the lens barrel flange to raise and lower the lens to focus the image. The image is centered on the screen by adjusting the first mirror which is mounted on a bracket which pivots on a housing partition and has a wedge between the bracket and the partition. The bracket has teeth which engage serrations on the wedge so when the retaining screw is tightened the wedge is locked in place.
