Abstract: A can telescope includes a can being of a container having a front end and a back end, a removable lens cap at the back end and a removable can lid also at the back end, the can being that of a pop or soda can. The can telescope also includes a base tubular section which is smaller than the container and which is secured inside the container, and further includes three telescopic tubular sections in which one slides into and is extended from another. The container has a storage compartment inside thereof, which is defined as being between the side wall of the container and the side wall of the base tubular section. The storage compartment can be accessed through the back end of the container upon removal of the removable can lid. Objects and liquids can be stored in the storage compartment. When not in use, the can telescope has the appearance that of a pop or soda can and is an ideal souvenir.

Abstract: A jumper rack system for keeping track of jumpers for a railroad includes a current conducting rack, a plurality of electrical current conducting members attached to and spaced along a support member which is fastened to a housing of the current conducting rack and having protruding portions for supporting jumpers used by a signalman. The current conducting rack is connected to an alarm unit having an alarm sounding member and light indicators, the alarm unit being connected to a power supply such as the ignition of a motor vehicle which is connected to a battery. Each current conducting member defines a jumper support. A complete circuit is formed through the current conducting rack when each jumper support is connected to an end of a respective jumper.

Abstract: The transmission and clutch assembly including a conventional casing, a slidable input shaft directly engageable to the drive member for high gear, and further including an output shaft which is rotatably engaged in the open end of the input shaft, and further including a countershaft for change speed mode and reverse speed, a reverse speed shaft, a clutch housing, a clutch shaft connected to the clutch housing, a pair of pressure members, and a throw-out bearing for change speed mode including reverse speed. This transmission and clutch assembly does not use any internal oil pressure to effect changing of gears and substantially reduces the rotating weight of the transmission when the vehicle is in high gear, because the clutch housing, clutch shaft, input gear and pressure members do not rotate when the transmission is in direct drive speed mode unlike other known transmissions.

Abstract: A ditch digging apparatus including a bucket having a bottom wall with a radius curvature for digging ditches deeper than four feet, a back wall, a pair of spaced-apart side wall, an open front, a pair of forwardly tilting bracket members and an elongated support member. This ditch digging apparatus is easily and conventionally mounted to a loader on a prime mover and is adapted to cut into the ground and form a ditch in one single longitudinal pass through the ground.

Abstract: Finger-controlled members for contacting the strings on a guitar includes three string-contacting finger members, one for the index finger, one for the middle or second finger, and one for the third or ring finger. Each of the string-contacting finger members is securely fastenable upon the respective finger such that it is on the palm-side of the finger and on the second segment of the finger so that the user can manipulate the string-contacting finger members with one's finger tips. Each string-contacting finger member has a body with a single string contact stem extending from the bottom thereof and being capable of holding only one string against the fingerboard of the guitar. In addition, there are four multiple string contact attachments which can be detachably attached to the string-contacting finger members and which have bottoms that are capable of holding two or three consecutive strings or two nonconsecutive strings against the fingerboard of the guitar to achieve selected musical chords.

Abstract: A hand portable grain threshing device includes a base, a reel with elongate paddle members, a mesh screen mounted over the top of the reel, a trough and collection member for collecting grain heads or kernels, a variable speed actuator for rotating the reel which cuts the stems of crop plants below the grain heads and which centrifuges the grain heads into the trough, and a blower unit for blowing the chaff out of the threshing device and moving the grain heads into the collection member. The user carries this threshing device into a field and holds this device upon the crop plants with the crop plants extending upward within the device, and the paddle members in cooperation with the front edge of the base cuts off the stems below the grain heads which are centrifuged about the interior side of the mesh screen into the trough and into the collection member for the user to test the amount of moisture in the grain heads.

Abstract: A snowblower chisel attachment includes an oscillatable elongate blade member oscillatably disposed at a bottom front of a snowblower housing; a pair of support arms pivotally suspended from the sidewalls of the housing and being secured to the oscillatable elongate blade member; a pair of stub shafts journaled through the sidewalls of the housing; a pair of three lobed cams mounted to the stub shafts for contacting and urging the support arms and intervally urging the oscillatable elongate blade member forwardly relative to the housing; a plurality of sprockets for rotating the stub shafts and the cams; a pair of biased elements for urging the oscillatable elongate blade member rearwardly toward the housing; and skid members for vertically positioning the oscillatable elongate blade member relative to the surface.

Abstract: A food utensil and grate cleaning tool includes an elongate shaft having a first end and a second end, a handle at the first end, and a hook portion at the second end and being continuous with the elongate shaft. The hook portion has a tapered and pointed end for pierces and hooking onto food such as corn on the cob, steak being grilled, and pickles in a jar, and further has an inside edge and a bladed edge along the inside edge for scraping and cleaning grates or grills. Also, the hook portion generally lies in a plane which is generally perpendicular to the elongate shaft and is capable of moving in the plane upon rotation of the elongate shaft about its longitudinal axis. Further, the user can move the bladed edge along the grate or grill for the scraping and cleaning thereof.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of affinity purifying antibodies consisting of the following steps: A) homogenizing Helminth parasite worms forming a mixture; B) incubating the mixture of adult Helminth parasite worm homogenate with pre-swelled CNBr-activated Sepharose 4B in coupling buffer; C) first washing the mixture with blocking buffer; D) second washing the mixture with acetate buffer and coupling buffer; E) third washing the mixture with Phosphate Buffered Solution; F) pouring the mixture into a chromatography column; G) allowing the mixture to settle; H) first passing, by gravity, a solution of saturated ammonium sulfate precipitated antibodies in loading buffer through the chromatography column; I) second passing, by gravity, loading buffer through the chromatography column until thoroughly washed; and J) second passing, by gravity, chromatography column elution buffer through the chromatography column which functions to remove and the purified antibodies.

Abstract: A vertical lift gate assembly includes a pair of elongate tubular members vertically erected and spaced apart from one another to accommodate a gate member therebetween, a pair of rail members securely fastened to the tubular members and adapted to receive and guide bearings which are attached to the sides of the gate member, and a pair of flexible lines connected to the gate member and carried by a pair of pulleys mounted to near the tops of the elongate tubular members. The gate member can be raised and lowered either manually which includes a counterweight member attached to the flexible lines and disposed in one of the tubular members; or pneumatically which includes a pneumatic cylinder which is the counterweight member and which receives compressed air from a compressed air source; or electrically which includes a speed reduced motor having a pulley attached to the shaft of the motor and connected to the flexible lines of which are either taken up or let out by the pulley on the motor.

Abstract: A quick-attachable trailer step includes a planar step member, two U-shaped mounting brackets fixedly attached to the back end of the step member with the open ends of the mounting brackets being disposed downwardly relative to the top of the step member, and two braces connected to the step member and to the mounting brackets to strengthen the trailer step. Each of the mounting brackets has a first extended portion and a second extended portion spaced from each other and defining a frame-receiving slot between each other, which is adapted to receive the portion of the frame of the trailer. The closed end of the mounting brackets essentially rest upon a portion of the frame of the trailer with the step member being disposed essentially horizontally outwardly from the trailer.

Abstract: A collapsible and adjustable support for attachment to a building structure includes at least one bracket member which has a first extended member having a first channel and being attachable to the building structure and further has a second extended member having a second channel and having a proximate end which is pivotally attached to the top end of the first extended member, the second extended member further having a distal end which provides the second extended member with adjustable load bearing positions including a generally horizontal position and positions relative thereto, the second extended member capable of being received in the first channel. The collapsible and adjustable support also includes a brace member which raises and lowers the distal end of the second extended member and supports the second extended member and can be collapsed and lockingly stored in the second channel. The collapsible and adjustable support can support shelves and table tops and hanging objects.

Abstract: A wire gate control apparatus includes a base sleeve having an aperture near the top thereof and a longitudinal slot at the bottom thereof and further having a keeper biasedly mounted at the aperture, and further includes a plunger slidably disposed within the sleeve and having first and second apertures spaced apart and a horizontal slot disposed between the first and second apertures and adapted to engage the keeper to lock the plunger in predetermined place and having a detent adapted to slide within the longitudinal slot, and also includes an arm pivotally mounted near its bottom to a pair of brackets fixedly attached to the sleeve, and having wire-connecting member spaced along the length thereof. The detent contacts the arm to close the wire gate and moves out of contact with the arm to lower the arm and open the wire gate.

Abstract: Fresh comminuted onions may be stored in container in refrigerated conditions at approximately 4 degrees Celsius for relatively long periods of time without decomposition to the onions which are prepared by mixing the comminuted onions with certain ingredients comprising, in addition to the onions, from 0.4% to 0.8% by weight of citric acid; from 0.26% to 0.53% sodium erythorbate; from 0.05 to 0.25% xanthan gum; from 0.05% to 0.1% potassium sorbate; and from 0.01% to 0.05% maltol. The prepared mixture is put into sealed containers and stored in refrigerated conditions. The containers can be opened and closed repeatedly with the remaining prepared onion mixture in the containers substantially retaining it texture, consistency, and freshness for up to 26 weeks.

Abstract: A slidable transmission shaft for a manual transmission includes a plurality of closely-spaced splines at a second end, a first plurality of keys at a first end, which are slidably engagable to an impeller fastened to the crankshaft of a motor vehicle for high gear, and a second plurality of keys spaced from the first plurality of keys and which are slidably engagable to a clutch for low gear. This slidable transmission shaft can also achieve reverse by sliding into a position where neither of the plurality of keys are engaged.

Abstract: A wheeled lift apparatus for lifting a person includes a base frame mounted upon transport wheels, two pairs of support arms each having an end pivotally attached to the base frame and having an opposite end pivotally attached to a support frame disposed above the base frame and supporting a support platform which is capable of supporting a person in the prone position. The wheeled lift apparatus also includes a two directional motor, a screw jack connected to the motor and to a bracket attached to the support frame, and a control unit having two momentary switches, one for energizing the motor to effect raising of the support platform and the other for energizing the motor to effect lowering of the support platform.
