Abstract: A dynamic equalizer circuit is disclosed for the driver system of an electro-mechanical transducer such as a loudspeaker. The circuit provides an improved or leveled audio output and includes a protective arrangement which protects the transducer against damage from being overdriven. The protective arrangement includes a sensor which produces a continuous protective control signal based upon operating characteristics of the transducer such as transducer motion or temperature or fatigue.
Abstract: An improved hand tool is disclosed for tightening strap fasteners such as money bag seals or cable ties or the like. The tool is a plier-like device having a pair of jaws including a pawl mechanism which engages teeth on the strap. After the fastener is drawn tightly around the bag neck or cable with a predetermined fastening force, the tool automatically severs the fastener. A knife on the tool then is used to cut the free end from the fastener.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a tool consisting of a tool body and cutter bits which are each secured in a slot in the body. By means of a tension screw which engages with the end portion of the bit located most proximal the bottom of the slot, the bit is fixedly retained in the slot under the application of a torque, the bit engaging with the slot walls at, in particular, three points; namely a point on the chipping face of the bit above a clearance disposed between this face and the slot face adjacent the bottom of the slot, a point on the rear face of the bit adjacent the periphery of the tool body, and, finally, the bottom of the slot. The tension screw engages with a surface on the bit which is located beneath a plane at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the bit through the abutment point on the chipping face of the bit, the surface preferably making an angle of approximately 45.degree. with this plane.
Abstract: A tamperproof closure is described for sealing containers such as soda, liquor or other bottles. The closure is a unitary molded closure cap which includes a tamper indicating band. The indicating band is applied with the closure cap and is locked onto a bead on the container so that it is torn free from the upper sealing portion of the cap as soon as an attempt is made to turn the closure cap off of the container.
Abstract: A machine and method for packaging travelers checks in which the checks are automatically packaged in predetermined denominations and in predetermined amounts.

Abstract: A fluorocarbonpolymer material for coating flexible and other surfaces, said material comprising an elastic material and adhesive, and the process for making the said material.
Abstract: A safety closure cap is disclosed for sealing medicine packages and the like where it is desirable that children cannot open the package. The closure cap has an inner shell having thread means for engaging a container and has an outer shell rotatably attached in telescoping position over the inner shell. Ratchet means on the shells locks them together when they are turned onto the container as a unit as the package is sealed but is normally inoperative when the closure cap is turned for removal so that the outer shell freely rotates on the inner shell. Shell coupling for removal is provided by a pressure interlock means which is activated by an adult user forcing the outer shell downwardly on the inner shell causing the shells to rotate for removal as a unit by a forced engagement of the ratchet means.

Abstract: A toothed transmission chain or belt is described for use in coupling spaced sprockets or gears. The chain is formed of molded polyurethane or other plastic having sprocket engaging teeth molded onto a supporting unitary molded backing. The molded portion is reinforced by one or more metal cables which are embedded in the molded plastic portion. An improved engagement with the sprockets is provided for by providing lateral slots in the chain teeth thereby giving them variable width. Additionally, the chain may be furnished or originally formed in indeterminate lengths and then fashioned into an endless chain by exposing and splicing together the ends of the steel reinforcing cables.
Abstract: A sealing machine is disclosed of the type which applies closure caps to containers at extremely high speeds by moving filled containers successively through a cap feeding station, a cap applying station, and a cap sealing station. The machine is characterized by improvements in its several sections which permit it to operate effectively at increased speeds, and at the same time provide for an improved adjustability for differing package sizes. The adjustability provides for independently operable adjustments for the sealing chamber height and for the width and height of the side belts which move the containers through the sealing chamber. Additionally, an improved cap feed is described with a cap feeding star wheel and improved container guiding side belts are also disclosed.
Abstract: A concept and various means of immunological assay are disclosed wherein two different classes of particles which interact at short distances to produce characteristic detectable signals are employed in a modification of the usual latex fixation test. In one embodiment of the concept an aqueous suspension of appropriately coated tritiated latex particles (LH) and polystyrene scintillant particles (L*) is employed. The amount of (LH) (L*) dimer formation and higher order aggregation induced and therefore the concentration of antibody (or antigen) present which caused the aggregation can be determined by using standard liquid scintillation counting equipment.
Abstract: A holder is described for temporarily mounting a ski on a work surface for permitting the ski to be tuned or otherwise routinely maintained by filing the ski edges and bottoms and for coating the ski bottoms etc. Each holder has a threaded clamp for mounting it on a work table or other convenient surface and has a pivotally mounted vacuum ski engaging device at its top for removably engaging the ski. Two of these holders firmly position a ski on the work surface for the ski tuning operation.
