  • Patent number: 8214963
Abstract: A mop includes a spinning device, a shank fixed to a first end of the spinning device, an operation rod having a first end connected to a second end of the spinning device, and a mop head connected to a second end of the operation rod. When a force is applied in a first direction making the operation rod and the spinning device move relatively in an axial direction, the mechanism in the spinning device drives the operation rod and the mop head to spin in the same direction simultaneously so as to generate a centrifugal force to remove the water from the mop head. When the force stops, the spring and the clutch structure in the spinning device make the operation rod back to the original position under a condition that the operation rod does not spin.

  • Patent number: 8218612
Abstract: An effective data sequence based timing error detector (EDS-TED) for baseband transmission system using Tomlinson-Harashima Precoder is disclosed. The EDS-TED extracts timing error information embedded in the received signal to build up autocorrelation between the ESD signals and minimize the mean square error between the received and desired EDS so as to improve the performance of the TED in terms of Peak-to-Peak Jitter and TED gain. Thus the quality of the received signal increases and the error rate decreases.

  • Patent number: 8199718
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for splicing multimedia session on communication networks. The apparatus comprises a handoff manager, a session migration manager and a session splicing module. The handoff manager monitors whether a mobile host is roaming to other subnets or not, and acquires a new IP address and issues a control signal when a handoff event is triggered. When a user triggers a migration action, the session migration manager, based on the monitoring status of an ongoing session, sends a state message to a target host for performing session migration, enables a media player, and issues another control signal. The session splicing module respectively receives the two control signals, and performs a corresponding session splicing for each control signal to persist session connection.

  • Patent number: 8200194
Abstract: The disclosure provides a Femtocell network system coexistent with a universal mobile telecommunication system (UMTS) network and the deadzone effect alleviating method thereof. For each femto access point (FAP) in the Femtocell network system, a minimum transmission power is pre-configured. When an inadmissible user equipment (UE) performs a location update or a handoff process to obtain the access right to a closed FAP, at least a FAP gateway may estimate the probable existence of deadzone via the UE location update or handoff procedure. Before the inadmissible UE reaches the deadzone of the closed FAP, the transmission power of the closed FAP is decreased repeatedly to allow the inadmissible UE to receive the signals and messages from the UMTS network, until the closed FAP reaches a threshold of its minimum transmission power.

  • Patent number: 8189051
Abstract: Disclosed is a moving object detection apparatus and method by using optical flow analysis. The apparatus includes four modules of image capturing, image aligning, pixel matching, and moving object detection. Plural images are successively inputted under a camera. Based on neighboring images, frame relationship on the neighboring images is estimated. With the frame relationship, a set of warping parameter is further estimated. Based on the wrapping parameter, the background areas of the neighboring images are aligned to obtain an aligned previous image. After the alignment, a corresponding motion vector for each pixel on the neighboring images is traced. The location in the scene of the moving object can be correctly determined by analyzing all the information generated from the optical flow.
