  • Patent number: 8155641
Abstract: A system and method are provided for preventing lapses of communication in radio voice communications. The system may include a communications transceiver for transmitting signals through a communications antenna. A protection antenna, which may be isolated from the communications antenna, may obtain a received signal from a remote transmitter. The received signal may contain a signal of interest that may be combined with interference from the communications the communications transceiver. A protection receiver, coupled to the protection antenna, may obtain a sample of a transmit signal from the communications transceiver. Using the sample of this transmit signal, the protection receiver may remove the interference from the received signal to obtain the signal of interest. If it is determined that a communications channel is blocked, the protection receiver may store the transmit signal and later retransmit the stored transmit signal when the communication channel is unblocked.

  • Patent number: 8128183
Abstract: A rack system for housing electronic and/or electrical equipment is provided comprising a rectangular base frame, a rectangular top frame, and four elongated vertical support members each extending along a longitudinal axis between and joined to two associated corners of the rectangular base frame and the rectangular top frame. The rectangular base frame, rectangular top frame, and the four elongated vertical support members may be constructed from members having the same substantially A-frame cross-section. Each support member may be constructed from an elongated sheet material extending along a longitudinal axis by bending the sheet material about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sheet material to form at least three elongated sections, where a first section and a second section are adjacent and substantially perpendicular to each other and a third section extends between approximately mid-point of the first section and approximately mid-point of the second section.

  • Patent number: 8117287
Abstract: The interactive messaging system of the present invention provides for an interactive communication process between users, both senders and recipients. The sender composes a message by filling in a template stored in data services. Once completed, the sender pushes the message to a recipient's wireless device if the wireless device contains a WAP browser, which is capable of receiving pushed messages. Typically the message includes a question along with answers for the recipient to choose from. Each answer corresponds with a pre-assigned response key and the recipient answers the question by selecting one of the pre-assigned response keys. The recipient's response is available to the sender in the form of an e-mail, WAP Push, on-line access or interactive message that is shown to the sender on an on-line status screen.

  • Patent number: 8117022
Abstract: A system for storing knowledge in a speakable, formal class of languages and allowing querying and retrieving of that knowledge is provided. The system further allows the users to input data, instructions, questions, and queries without structure or rules over and above the actual grammar of the class of languages. The system responds in words, phrases or complete sentences as applicable, and its output is bound by the rules of logic, rather than simple correlation or likely meaning.

  • Patent number: 8098377
Abstract: A cavity ring down system is optimized to precisely measure trace gases or particles in an air sample by using time sampling detection and multiple-sample averaging resulting in a high signal-to-noise ratio. In one embodiment, a cavity ring down system is programmed to measure the rise time and the fall time of the light level in an optical cavity. The cavity ring down system is programmed to integrate a plurality of sample portions during a rise time and a plurality of sample portions during a fall time (in alternate intervals) to obtain a time constant with no sample present and a time constant with sample present. The measurements are used to calculate trace gases in the air sample.

  • Patent number: 8091731
Abstract: A container for packaging food for transporting and selling to consumers is provided. The container includes a base having a pair of inwardly recessed pockets for capturing a pair of extending latching portions on a lid. The pair of extending latching portions has concave grooves allowing the extending latching portions to flex inwards from an initial position for insertion into the pair inwardly recessed pockets. When the pair of extending latching portions are inserted into the pair inwardly recessed pockets, the pair of extending latching portions expand back to their initial position and protrusions within the pair of inwardly recessed pockets retain the pair of extending latching portions creating a tight fit and preventing the lid of the container from being easily disengaged from the base of the container.

  • Patent number: 8028425
Abstract: The present invention generally pertains to a saw device. More particularly, the present invention relates to a handheld centerless saw. The saw comprises a frame and a pair of driving rollers mounted to the frame for rotation. The saw also comprises an annular blade mounted between the drive rollers and functionally engaged thereby, where the blade defines frontward and backward hemispheres. At least two guide wheels are mounted to the frame, or to a cover mounted to the frame, the guide wheels being positioned in the backward hemisphere of the blade. The guide wheels are operatively engaging the inner circular edge of the blade. A drive assembly mounted to the frame is operable for urging the countersense rotation of drive rollers, thereby causing rotation of the blade.

  • Patent number: 8015947
Abstract: A harness for inhibiting an animal from straining against a leash and inducing the animal to come to a halt or to a walk or run at a pace acceptable to the animal handler is provided. The harness may include a longitudinal strap having a set of loop straps extending from the longitudinal strap for placing around the body of the animal. Each loop strap in the set of loop straps may be adjustable to fit the size of the animal on which it is placed so that the harness may be suitable for animals of varying sizes. A continuous cord may be secured to the set of loop straps defining a front restraining member and a back restraining member. Pulling upwards on the cord causes the front and back restraining members to pull inward applying pressure to the front and back legs of the animal to restrain the animal.
