Abstract: Broadly, the present invention is a knee support device for providing focused and comfortable pressure (i.e. conforms to the size and shape of the knee and patella) to reduce knee pain. The knee support device comprises a stretchable band for encircling a portion of the user's leg. A moldable inner support is secured to the inner surface of the band and is filled with beads allowing the moldable inner support to conform to the specific anatomy of the user's knee for maximum support and relief. The moldable inner support is only affixed to the band at its ends so that it may move freely with respect to the band and also provides focused pressure to reduce knee pain and helps stabilize the patella to improve alignment and tracking.
Abstract: A golf swing practice apparatus including a golf ball simulation target and anchor for securing the target to a support surface. The anchor may be a ground stake when the surface is the ground and, alternatively, a mat anchor when the surface is a golf training mat. A connector arm horizontally offsets the anchor out of the way from the target, and can be adjustably positioned relative to the target to raise or lower the position of the target above the support surface as desired. A marker is supported by the target for leaving a mark on the golf club head during a practice swing. The location of the mark relative to the “sweet spot” on the golf club head can be used to adjust the golf swing. The mark can be two marks whose relative sizes indicate whether the target was hit with an open or close face impact.

Abstract: A novel cathodic protection system is provided that automatically controls and adjusts the voltage potential between an anode and a structure to protect the structure from corrosion. The cathodic protection system is self-powered, requiring no external power source or batteries. A cathodic protection circuit is configured to provide a cathodic protection current from the anode to the structure through an electrolyte. A power generation circuit is configured to generate power from a galvanic cell formed from the anode and an isolated electrode when cathodic protection is interrupted. A voltage potential control circuit is powered by the power generation circuit and is configured to (a) determine a structure-to-electrolyte reference voltage for the electrolyte and structure, and (b) adjust the cathodic protection current from the anode to the structure to maintain the reference voltage substantially the same as a set voltage.
Abstract: A baffle assembly fastening system and mounting frame assembly that can be installed and secured without the use of tools. A baffle assembly frame defining an opening to receive a fixture and having an exposed first surface. A fastener is rotationally coupled to the baffle frame. The fastener extends from the exposed first surface to secure the baffle assembly to a recessed mounting frame, wherein the fastener can be manually rotated from a disengaged position to an engaged position in less ring is coupled to the baffle assembly and has a plurality of aligning posts that serve to align the baffle assembly as it is inserted into a recessed mounting frame.
Abstract: A lightweight disposable shield which is capable of fitting over the handset of a telephone for isolating the user of the handset from bacteria or other microbes on the handset. The shield is in the nature of a sleeve which slips over the handset from an end thereof and which does not have a cord or tie connected at that end to tighten the shield on the handset.
Abstract: A speaker frame that can be rotated to adjust the direction and/or angle of sound dispersion of a speaker mounted therein. One embodiment of the invention includes a recessed speaker frame with an angled flange mounted on an angled ridge. The angled flange rides on the angled ridge to cause the angle of the speaker frame to change, relative to a mounting surface, within a range of angles. The range of angles defined by the maximum cumulative angle of the flange and angled ridge.
Abstract: A self-contained paint color system and method is described comprising a handled carrying box, at least one container of a base color paint, a plurality of containers containing colored tints, and a “matchbook” styled booklet that incorporates coordinated and matching sheets and self-adhesive stickers. When utilizing this paint color selection system and method, a designer can create and select numerous colors utilizing a single kit.
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention provides a post extension system frame assembly for mounting fixtures within a recess in a wall or ceiling and that can be adjusted and installed with minimal time and effort. One feature of the invention provides a post extension mechanism that can be manually installed and/or adjusted to position a first audio device either above or below the mounting surface and an angling mechanism permits adjusting the direction and angle of the audio device to permit positioning the sound dispersion axis of the audio device (e.g., speaker, tweeter, woofer, audio transducer, etc.) directly towards a listener. Another feature of the invention provides a rotating angling mechanism that permits adjusting the sound dispersion axis of a recessed second audio device.
Abstract: A weather forecasting and navigation device for vehicles is provided that generates local or specific weather forecast information while generating its own power. In one example, the device may include an integrated wind turbine that is turned by the wind flow created by the vehicle's motion to generate power for the device. In alternative implementations, instead of a wind turbine to generate power, different methods of power generation may be used. The device may also include a built-in alarm system that senses when the vehicle is moved and triggers an audible alarm.
