  • Patent number: 6119732
Abstract: A weaving machine comprises an arrangement for adjusting or optimizing the consumption of warp thread. The weaving machine permits weaving of different widths for the woven material. First bobbins can be arranged next to one another, with synchronized rotation, on a warp beam (Vb) of the weaving machine in order to effect a warp thread supply which represents a minimum width for the woven material. Second bobbins can be arranged, individually from the point of view of rotation, in bobbin boards in order to effect a warp thread supply which represents widths between the minimum width and a maximum width for the woven material. The second bobbins are provided with, or can cooperate with, activatable and deactivatable brake members by which the number of second bobbins (2') corresponding to the set weaving width can be engaged for warp thread supply in the weaving machine.

  • Patent number: 6118897
Abstract: A drawing is read by a scanner to create raster data. A labeling process is executed for the data to extract a contour line for each pattern element resultant from the labeling process to produce contour line data and region data to manage, in a tree structure, information related to a circumscribed rectangle of each line segment of the contour line. When the operator picks by a pointing device a predetermined region on the screen of a display and a pair of line segments for recognition, there is retrieved region data corresponding to the specified region. After extracting contour line data associated with the retrieved region data, a center line creation process is executed according to the extracted contour line data.

  • Patent number: 6111905
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for purifying methane gas in a Raman cell (20). When pumped laser light having a high power passes through the Raman cell containing methane gas, a portion of the methane can be decomposed, and then highly reactive methyl radicals are formed. They can react with each other and as time passes form organic compounds, which are deposited on the inner side of the windows (22a, 22b) of the Raman cell. A trap (26) comprising calcium grains (27), which absorb the methyl radicals, is introduced in the Raman cell (20). The methane gas, which comprises a small content of methyl radicals, is made to come in contact with the calcium grains (27), whereby a reaction occurs between the methyl radicals and the calcium grains, so that calcium carbide and calcium hydride are formed. The methane gas is driven around in the Raman cell (20) and through the trap (26) by means of a compressor wheel (28) driven by a motor (29c).

  • Patent number: 6105457
Abstract: The invention pertains to a self-adjusting device that equalizes the length for pull ropes which activate parts of motor vehicles, particularly for locking latches of motor vehicle seats, with a spring-loaded tension element. The spring-loaded tension element is formed by a pivoting lever which is guided on a support, so that its longitudinal position may be shifted and so as to be capable of being pivoted, which exhibits two terminal areas that are entwined by the pull rope. Due to the use of a tension spring, one terminal area abuts a stop, from which it may be lifted up as the force of the tension spring is overcome, and swiveled to make contact with an opposing stop, when tractile force is applied to the pull rope. The stop and opposing stop exhibit contact surfaces that run parallel to one another, and which extend across the pathway of longitudinal shift. Between the two entwined terminal areas of the pivoting lever, provision is made for an area of entwinement in a fixed location on the support.

  • Patent number: 6102034
Abstract: Breathing equipment including a breathing hood to surround a wearer's head. An inner mask covers at least the wearer's mouth and nose. The equipment includes a breathing gas delivery conduit and structure to permit gas to pass from the hood to the mask. A check valve allows gas to pass from the mask to the surroundings when overpressure in the mask has reached a given value. The breathing gas is delivered to the hood and the gas passing structure permits gas to pass in both directions between the hood and the mask. The gas passing structure requires a lower overpressure in the mask for passage of gas from the mask to the hood than the pressure required for the check valve to release gas to the surroundings.

  • Patent number: 6081373
Abstract: A light transmitting device for use in a viewing apparatus or optical device, particularly a night vision device. The device is composed of a material which is capable of transmitting light from a remote source. Light from a visible indicator such as an LED is transferred through at least one outer flat to an inner flat of the device. The inner flat provides a signal to the user that the power supply is low. An additional outer flat and inner flat provides a signal to the user that the infrared illuminator is in operation. A projection formed along the outer periphery of the device prevents rotation and aids in assembling the device in a viewing apparatus. With the light transmitting device, there is no need for a separate device attached to the housing of an optical device for indicating power supply.
