  • Patent number: 7674991
Abstract: Pedal assemblies and methods provide for signal control, such as for controlling audio and/or effects path signals used in generating audio from a musical instrument. The pedal assemblies may provide for simultaneous audio and effects control via electrical pathways dedicated to each. Rotation of the pedal about one or more axes of rotation results in modifying an electrical characteristic of devices of the pedal that control the audio and effects path signals. A particular axis of rotation that modifies the electrical characteristic of a device may be configured to produce a particular audio or effects path control based on which of the jacks are in use such that by changing the jacks that are in use, the function of a particular axis of rotation may change. Furthermore, a pedal assembly may provide for two axes of rotation where the centers of rotation of the two axes are non-coincident. The two axes of rotation may be better isolated as a result.

  • Patent number: 7567801
Abstract: A portable communications device (PCD) is coupled to a first network by way of a second network. The PCD is normally in radio communication with the first network, and is coupled to the first network by way of the second network when the PCD is out of radio communication with the first network. In particular, the PCD is coupled to the second network, and is caused to leave a first network mode and enter a second network mode. A network connection is established with the first network by way of the second network, and communication with the first network is entered into by way of the second network.

  • Patent number: 7562134
Abstract: A system for and method of analyzing the performance of a packet-switched network, the network automatically generating a traffic log each time a packet enters or exits the network and each traffic log including at least the time the traffic log was created, the addresses of the packet sender and packet recipient, and the entry and exit network nodes. A server collects a plurality of traffic logs, parses the available information therein and generates a plurality of histograms, each histogram being based on information gleaned from the plurality of traffic logs. The histograms may be representative of packet traffic passing through a host connected to the network, packet traffic passing through a node in the network or the amount of data that travels over a link between two nodes of the network. To increase the delivery speed of the histogram data from the server to a client, the histograms are preferably stored as flat files to achieve direct and rapid access to stored data.

  • Patent number: 7555440
Abstract: A task management system assigns a plurality of tasks to a plurality of workers. The assigned tasks are dispatched according to dispatch orders. The task management system may designate a task as an immediate next task. The immediate next task is prioritized first in a dispatch order, and is thus the first task to be dispatched to a worker, or the next task to be dispatched to the worker if a task is currently dispatched to the worker.

  • Patent number: 7555111
Abstract: A system and method that enables callers to dial a subscription code instead of a telephone number to reach a subscriber of the subscription code. The system includes a lookup table that associates the subscription code with the subscriber's telephone number. The system also uses a routing device that is in communication with the lookup table. The routing device is adapted to receive calls that were initiated by callers using the subscription code. When a call originated by a caller using the subscription code is received by the routing device, the routing device reviews the lookup table to retrieve the telephone number that is associated with the subscription code. The telephone number is then used by the routing device to terminate the call to the telephone number.

Abstract: Stylized digital content is rapidly created by reading a first file and a plurality of second files. The first file contains a digital content item and each second file contains at least one style definition. At least one display instance of stylized digital content is created by applying the style definition of one of the plurality of second files to the digital content item of the first file. The at least one display instance is mapped to a location on the display device. A location is received from a pointing device and one of the plurality of display instances is displayed based on the received location.

  • Patent number: 7554968
Abstract: The present invention integrates Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) and computer network technologies to provide telephone services. The system of the present invention comprises a gateway serving as an interface between a service control point (SCP) of an AIN and a computer network. The computer network is preferably the Internet. The SCP obtains call routing instructions from the subscriber of the present invention through a link during a communication session between the subscriber and the computer network. A trigger is provisioned on a subscriber's line. When a call for a telephone line having the provisioned trigger is detected at a service switching point (SSP), a query is launched to the SCP. A call processing request query comprising calling party information is provided to the gateway. The gateway obtains a response from the computer network containing call processing instructions. The call is processed in accordance with the response.

  • Patent number: 7555109
Abstract: A system for a caller to control a distinctive ring for a telephone call includes a service switching point and a service control point. The service switching point is operable to receive a feature code and a called directory number, and to issue a query in response to receiving the feature code. The service control point is operable to receive the query and issue a response to the service switching point. The response includes a distinctive ring parameter. Upon receiving the response from the service control point, the service switching point processes the call so that the distinctive ring parameter causes a distinctive ring signal to be applied to a called telephone line associated with the called directory number.

  • Patent number: 7539626
Abstract: A system and method for documenting delays associated with a project. The present invention includes provisions that enable a field personnel working on a project on the field to document excusable delays as the delays are encountered. The field personnel is equipped with a communications device that has access to a server. During a communications session between the communications device and the server, the field personnel uses the communications device to upload project information related to the delays to the server. The server then invokes or updates a DMT to document the time associated with the delays. The delay time documented in the DMT is then subtracted from a total time reported by a maintenance clock associated with the project.
