  • Patent number: 11400193
Abstract: A system for monitoring water quality for dialysis, dialysis fluids, and body fluids treated by dialysis fluids, is disclosed. The system uses microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors for detecting impurities in input water or dialysis fluid, and in the prepared dialysate. These sensors may also be used to monitor and check the blood of the patient being treated. These sensors include ion-selective sensors, for ions such as ammonium or calcium, and also include amperometric array sensors, suitable for ions from chlorine or chloramines, e.g., chloride. These sensors assist in the monitoring of water supplies from a city water main or well. The sensors may be used in conjunction with systems for preparing dialysate solutions from water for use at home or elsewhere.

  • Patent number: 11393565
Abstract: A patient platform for patient engagement and treatment compliance is disclosed. In an example, a home therapy machine of a patient is configured to transmit treatment information and a clinician database is configured to store a medical record and a registration file identifying the home therapy machine and a personal device of the patient as registered devices. The registration file also identifies whether the personal device installed an application for viewing the treatment information. A server is configured to store the treatment information to the medical record, receive an indication that the treatment information is to be displayed at the personal device, and determine from the registration file if the application is installed on the personal device. If the application is not installed, the server converts the treatment information to text message or Short Messaging Service (“SMS”) format for transmission.

  • Patent number: 11357453
Abstract: The invention provides a neck-worn sensor that is a single, body-worn system that measures the following parameters from an ambulatory patient: heart rate, pulse rate, pulse oximetry, respiratory rate, temperature, thoracic fluid levels, stroke volume, cardiac output, and a parameter sensitive to blood pressure called pulse transit time. From stroke volume, a first algorithm employing a linear model can estimate the patient's pulse pressure. And from pulse pressure and pulse transit time, a second algorithm, also employing a linear algorithm, can estimate systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. Thus, the sensor can measure all five vital signs along with hemodynamic parameters. It also includes a motion-detecting accelerometer, from which it can determine motion-related parameters such as posture, degree of motion, activity level, respiratory-induced heaving of the chest, and falls.

  • Patent number: 11350918
Abstract: An assembly for mixing and dispensing a multi-component fluid includes a sheath having first and second fluid chambers, a chamber coupler, and a flexible tip. The chamber coupler forms first and second fluid channels. Additionally, the flexible tip forms a mixing chamber with a variable mixing volume and an outlet. The flexible tip is coupled to the chamber coupler near a distal end of the sheath. In the presence of an activation force, the flexible tip is forced out of the sheath and positioned in a dispensing state with a maximum mixing volume. In the absence of the activation force, the flexible tip is housed within the sheath and positioned in a non-dispensing state with a minimum mixing volume such that the outlet is substantially closed.
