Abstract: A system and method for forming fluted polymer boards and recycling scrap material. A feeder feeds polymer to an extruder, which extrudes fluted board stock from the polymer. A scrap portion of the board stock is separated from another portion that comes to form the boards. The recycling system returns the separated scrap portion along a return path to the feeder and forms holes in the scrap portion creating fluid communication between the flutes and atmosphere before the scrap portion is returned to the feeder. The scrap portion can, in some embodiments, be ground into granular form after being hole-punched without creating a pressure condition in the flutes that adversely affects extrusion of the board stock.
Abstract: A plastic bag comprising a welded segment at its closure which comprises sealing projections and interlocking projections to form a high integrity seal at the closure edges.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a blown plastic film using an extruder, the method comprising extruding a tube of polymer resin; cooling air from a temperature of greater than 55° F. down to a temperature between about 35° F. about 50° F., to produce an intermediate cooled air stream; dehumidifying the intermediate cooled air stream to less than about 15% humidity, to produce a dehumidified intermediate cooled air stream; cooling the dehumidified intermediate cooled air stream to less than 35° F., to produce a super-cooled air stream; and directing the super-cooled air stream at the extruded tube of polymer resin.
Abstract: A tamper evident bag includes a top panel and a bottom panel connected together to define a bag interior between the top and bottom panels. The top panel defines a receiving opening sized and shaped for inserting one or more items into the bag interior. The top and bottom panels each have a tear line with a first end and a second end, the first and second ends being located at the first side edge margin. The first and second ends of each tear line being spaced apart. The tear lines extend over the top and bottom panels and define respective tear out sections of the top and bottom panels. The tear out sections are joined along the first side edge margin and are configured to be removed to create an exit opening.
Abstract: A package for storing perishable goods. Film forming the package has an inner layer that defines an interior surface of the package and is formed from a polyethylene and a tack agent that has migrated to the interior surface to provide tackiness. The tackiness permits cold resealing of the package after it has been opened, without substantially adhering to the perishable goods so that the perishable goods can be non-destructively removed from the package. An outer layer of the film defines an exterior surface of the package and is formed from another polyethylene. The polyethylene of the outer layer is configured to block migration of the tack agent through the outer layer such that the exterior surface is substantially non-tacky.

Abstract: A sleeve pack for forming a bulk bin includes a base for forming a bottom of the bulk bin and a perimeter wall assembly. The perimeter wall assembly includes two blanks that can be connected to one another at interlocking connections to form a perimeter wall of the bulk bin. Locking tabs are associated with at least one of the wall blanks, and corresponding locking openings are associated with at least one other of the wall blanks. The openings oppose the tabs and the tabs are lockingly inserted into the openings to secure the wall members together to form the perimeter wall of the bulk bin.
Abstract: A stand-up plastic food storage bag having two bottom gusset walls and a folding seam defining abutment of the front bottom gusset wall to the rear bottom gusset wall. There are gusset wall reinforced regions on an external surface of the bottom gusset walls which do not cover the folding seam, so they do not significantly interfere with folding the seam when collapsing the bag into its storage condition.

Abstract: A construction component comprising a foamed cellular board comprising smooth exterior surfaces separated by a cellular network and cut edges, and sealed caps adhered to the cut edges on the foamed cellular boar. The board has a density of less than 0.55 g/cm3, and the cut edges on which the sealed caps are adhered are unmelted edges.
Abstract: A stand-up plastic food storage bag having two bottom gusset walls and a folding seam defining abutment of the front bottom gusset wall to the rear bottom gusset wall. There are gusset wall reinforcement layers on an external surface of the bottom gusset walls, and these reinforcement layers terminate at least about 0.25 cm away from the folding seam, and do not cover the folding seam, so they do not significantly interfere with folding the seam when collapsing the bag into its storage condition. A method for forming such stand-up plastic food storage bags by coextruding a monolayer plastic panel film and two monolayer plastic gusset floor reinforcement layers, wherein the monolayer plastic gusset floor reinforcement layers comprise two parallel strips spaced apart by at least about 0.
Abstract: A multilayer film for use in adhesive tape or adhesive label applications comprising a core layer and skin layers on each side of the core layer. The core layer comprises a polypropylene mini-random homopolymer, wherein the mini-random homopolymer comprises polypropylene, up to 2 wt % ethylene components, and a acid neutralizer in a concentration up to 5000 ppm calcium. The skin layers each comprise a) at least about 95 wt % of a polypropylene mini-random homopolymer comprising polypropylene, up to 2 wt % ethylene components, and an acid neutralizer in a concentration up to about 5000 ppm, and b) an anti-block agent in a concentration up to about 1 wt %, wherein the anti-block agent comprises at least 95 wt % homopolymer of polypropylene and 1 to 5 wt % of silica having a particle size between about 1 to 3 ?m.

Abstract: A method for making ornamental trim for use in construction comprising applying a sealing composition having PVC particles in a flowable medium to a cut edge of a foam board, heating the sealing composition to a temperature at which the flowable medium solvates the PVC particles, and cooling the sealing composition to form a continuous sealing cap on the cut edge. A construction component consisting essentially of a foamed cellular board comprising smooth exterior surfaces separated by a cellular network and cut edges, and sealed caps adhered to the cut edges on the foamed cellular board comprising PVC in a polymer matrix. The board has a density of no more than 0.5 g/cm3, and the cut edges on which the sealed caps are adhered are unmelted edges.

Abstract: Embodiments of foldable containers, such as foldable produce containers, and related sheets and methods. In some embodiments, a sheet may comprise at least two adjacent, parallel, side panels, one of which may comprise a bendable tab, and the other of which may comprise a cutout configured to receive the bendable tab. This may allow for temporarily maintaining the two panels in position during a folding process to facilitate additional folding steps during the process. In some embodiments, a container may comprise one or more strapping flaps configured to facilitate tensioning of strapping material for strapping together multiple containers. These strapping flaps may be configured to engage a strapping material and may allow a single person to more easily tension the strapping material to strap multiple containers together.
