  • Patent number: 6023552
Abstract: A data recording system for recording in a CD-ROM or similar recording medium a data file containing data such as compressed audio and video data and an index file containing index data for searching the individual data of the data file. The data stored in the data file are recorded in a CD-ROM in three hierarchical stages, i.e., titles, scenes and shots or chapters, scenes and clips. The index file has a hierarchical format associated with that of the data file in order to manage the data of the data file in consecutive stages.

  • Patent number: 5934771
Abstract: An antilock brake control system in a vehicle includes a PID calculating device for carrying out a PID calculation based on a deviation between a target slip rate determined based on a presumed vehicle speed and a slip rate, so that the operation of braking fluid pressure regulating device is controlled based on the result of the calculation in the PID calculating device. In the antilock brake control system, a braking pressure control mode is decided based on the result of comparison of a PID calculation value calculated in the PID calculating device with a predetermined threshold value, so that the operation of braking fluid pressure regulating device is controlled in such control mode. When the amount of variation in PID calculation value within a predetermined time exceeds a predetermined value, a control mode different from a control mode decided from a current PID calculation value is selected.

  • Patent number: 5416708
Abstract: A system for monitoring and controlling a running condition of a motor vehicle such as a motorcycle has a wheel speed sensor and first and second CPUs. The first and second CPUs effect in a first mode, i.e., when an anti-lock brake control mode is not effected, the same calculations to produce calculated data to monitor the running condition of the motor vehicle, and compare the calculated data from each other to check the effected calculations. In a second mode, i.e., when the anti-lock brake control mode is effected, the first CPU continues the calculations to produce calculated data to monitor the running condition of the motor vehicle, and the second CPU performs an auxiliary controlling function for controlling the running condition of the motor vehicle by controlling a brake mechanism in the anti-lock brake control mode.

  • Patent number: 5241479
Abstract: A traction control method for a vehicle which includes the steps of generating a braking force in drive wheel brake devices when it is determined that a drive wheel shows a slipping tendency, wherein the control mode for left and right drive wheel brake devices is switchable between an independent mode for independently controlling braking forces in the left and right drive wheel brake devices and a collective control mode for collectively controlling braking forces of these brake devices, and controlling the braking forces of the brake devices in the independent control mode in response to a condition in which the absolute value of a difference between left and right drive wheel speeds exceeds a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 5200834
Abstract: A digital video tape recorder. A clock is extracted from the horizontal sync signal within the luminance signal, and used in processing the luminance portion of the video signal. A clock is also extracted from a color burst within the chrominance signal and is used for processing the chrominance portion. The chrominance portion of the video signal to be recorded is converted to a low frequency band before recording. During playback, the reverse of this operation is performed, thereby producing a signal with the original color frequency.

  • Patent number: 5132986
Abstract: The present invention provides new arrangements for various components of a CSK communication system: modulator, correlators, demodulator, carrier detection circuit, and synchronization control circuit. The various improvements provide more accurate demodulation of data from the received signal in the presence of noise and signal deterioration. A modulator configuration permits the CSK system to use two M series codes in which the second code is simply a phase shifted version of the first code. The PN correlators, via shift-registers, efficiently output two correlation signals. The demodulator accepts two correlation signals from the correlators, detects auto-correlation peaks in the correlation signals, and uses the peaks to accurately determine whether the received bit has a value of "1" or "0". The carrier detecting circuit detects the presence of data in the received signal.

  • Patent number: 5122793
Abstract: A signal generator for generating an output signal that is an accurate image of an input signal. A keyboard transmits an input signal and an image controlling device receives the input signal. The image controlling device includes a level variation detecting device which samples the input signal at a sampling rate determined by a sampling period generating device. When the level variation detecting device detects a variation in the levels of a currently sampled value and a previously sampled value it adjusts the image signal accordingly so that the output signal is an accurate image of the input signal. A synchronization signal transmitter transmits a synchronization signal to the keyboard. The keyboard includes a counter which counts the synchronization signal. The counter generates the input image signal that is transmitted to the image controlling device.
