Images in the form of three energy beams are projected onto a light emitting coating composed of repeating sequences of first through third phosphor stripes, each corresponding to one of the primary colors.     Abstract: A vehicle height control device that includes a pressure sensor 28 for detecting the pressure of compressed air supplied to pneumatic shock absorbers 10 for pneumatically bearing the load of a vehicle loads applied through the wheels. A control circuit 30 is included for controlling vehicle height based on the pressure detected by the pressure sensor 28. A waveform shaping circuit is connected between the control circuit 30 and the pressure sensor 28 and shapes the waveform to moderate the pressure change while the pressure is rising to a greater degree than while the pressure is dropping. The waveform shaping circuit includes a passive low-pass filter circuit 38, an active low-pass filter circuit 52 and a pair of diodes 70 and 72. The diodes 70 and 72 connected to the active filter circuit 52, allowing rapid capacitor discharge during decreases in signal amplitude while maintaining a slow discharge rate during decreases in signal amplitude.

    Abstract: A contact supervising circuit for a rider protective device, in which an ignition switch, a collision sensor, and a detonator are connected in series to a DC power source, a monitoring resistor is connected in parallel to the collision sensor, and a monitoring switch is connected in series to the monitoring resistor. The device comprises delay means for closing a contact of the monitoring switch with a period of delay to interrupt a monitoring current flowing from the DC power source through the monitoring resistor for a predetermined period of time after turning-on of the ignition switch. The device further comprises assertion means for supervising the monitoring current and for asserting the fact that the monitoring current does not flow during the period of delay in which the closing the contact of the monitoring switch is delayed by the delay means.

    Abstract: A triggering device and a method of operation which may be used in a vehicle-mounted gas bag protection device, in which a bag fills with gas upon impact of the vehicle. During normal conditions, a small current passes through a detonator associated with the gas generator. This current is supplied by an auxiliary power supply, including a capacitor, which is charged through a diode from a main vehicle battery. When impact occurs, an increased current flows through the detonator to cause gas to be generated. To detect malfunctions, a voltage associated with the detonator is monitored and then alarm is generated when the monitor voltage exceeds a predetermined range. To prevent the generation of false malfunction alarms, the predetermined range is determined with respect to the voltage produced by the auxiliary power supply and not the main battery of the vehicle so that fluctuations in the voltage associated with the main battery of the vehicle do not produce false alarms.

    Abstract: A high intensity discharge (HID) lamp has an arc tube including a pair of main electrodes and at least one auxiliary electrode or probe, wherein a high frequency (HF) high voltage is applied to the probe for forming a high frequency (HF) ignition discharge for establishing a low frequency (LF) arc discharge between the main electrodes. In this ignition system, the electrodes of the arc tube are arranged so that an LF discharge path and an HF discharge path are positioned in an X- or a Y-configuration in the arc tube for causing easy lamp ignition. Also, to simplify the outer leads, it is desirable to mount the probe on one of the main electrodes by a dielectric member opposite another main electrode thereby to form a shorter gap between the probe and the other main electrodes than that between the main electrodes. The starting device of HID lamps has a high frequency-high voltage (HF-HV) generator, the output of which is applied, directly or indirectly, to the probe.
