  • Patent number: 5034805
Abstract: A color separation circuit arrangment for separating color components from an image sensor that outputs two kinds of photoelectric conversion signals with different color components for each horizontal scanning line. Color separation is carried out by causing color separation arithmetic means to perform color separation by supplying the arithmetic means with two kinds of photoelectric conversion signals for read unit regions that are formed adjacently on the same horizontal scanning line, output by the image sensors. The color separation apparatus includes signal averaging means for evaluating the average of a plurality of photoelectric conversion signals of at least one kind out of the two kinds of photoelectric conversion signals from the read unit regions provided adjacently on the same horizontal scanning line, and supplying the result of the evaluation to the color separation arithmetic means.

  • Patent number: 5032914
Abstract: An arrangement for detecting movement in a picture displayed on a television display. Y/C color separation detects movement in a displayed picture by generating a first movement detection signal with respect to luminance, a second movement detection signal with respect to luminance and a movement detection signal with respect to color. The first movement detection signal with respect to luminance represents the difference between a luminance signal extracted by Y/C separation in a first frame and a luminance signal extracted by Y/C separation in a second, adjacent frame. The second movement detection signal serves as an auxiliary detection signal, and indicates any leaking of the color signal into the luminance signal after Y/C separation. The auxiliary signal, which indicates the leakage of any color signal into the luminance signal, is able to minimize erroneous detection of movement due to leakage of the color signal.

  • Patent number: 5005190
Abstract: A window system synchronizing protective circuit. A window forming circuit forming windows having a predetermined position which detect the forthcoming synchronizing signal in accordance with a counted value of bit clock pulses produced by a bit clock. The window forming circuit forms a corresponding number of windows to a predetermined number of bit clock pulses before and after detecting a synchronizing signal. The window forming circuit generates a window signal. A protective synchronizing circuit which has the detected synchronizing signal and the window signal generates a protective signal which has a phasic relation to the detected synchronizing signal. If no synchronizing signal has been detected in the windows the protective synchronizing signal is output. If the synchronizing signal has not been detected after a predetermined period a window reset circuit changes the position of the windows.

  • Patent number: 4985782
Abstract: In a reproduction system for use in reproducing a still image from a sequence of predictive error signals which is read out of a memory and which is preliminarily processed into a sequence of preliminary processed signals, an intermediate circuit interrupts the preliminary processed signals in response to an external command signal. In the intermediate circuit, the external command signal is resampled by a sequence of frame pulses in a resampling circuit into a resampled signal so as to close a gate circuit. No predictive error signal is sent to an adder circuit during absence of the gate circuit. An identical error signal is repeatedly produced as a sequence of reproduced signals to reproduce the still image.

  • Patent number: 4969039
Abstract: In an image processing system for use in processing a sequence of image signals carrying a moving image, the image signal sequence is divided into a sequence of partial image signals each of which carries a scene subsequence defined by scene changes. A background signal generator determines a background portion of the moving image by monitoring a whole of each partial image signal and produces a background signal. The background signal is coded by a coder prior to a sequence of error signals resulting from predictive coding of each partial signal. During prediction of the background signal, the error signals may be rendered to zero in the coder. The background signal may be either determined at every picture element or at every block composed of a plurality of picture elements.

  • Patent number: 4942391
Abstract: The present invention provides a composite picture information system that is able to compose pictures from digital data from separate sources. An extended (main) information processor (40) is mechanically configured so that an auxiliary information processor (10) can be docked with it. The extended and auxiliary information processors are each configured so that they can be independently operated and can each provide as an output an analog video signal defining a picture. When the information processors are docked, the auxiliary information processor stops generating its own video signal. Instead, it reads out digital display data based on a synchronizing signal provided by an extended (main) information processor, and provides its digital data to the extended (main) information processor.

  • Patent number: 4942476
Abstract: In a recording system, a sequence of image signals obtained from a sequence of images are used to generate and record a sequence of recordable signals on a read only memory. Efficient coding of the received sequence of image signals is carried out through the use of a given parameter which is adaptively and dynamically changed, preferably manually, through a parameter controller acting as the interactive device. The image signals are repeatedly subjected to the efficient coding process. The process uses a sequence of predictive signals to produce coded signals. The predictive signals are displayed on a monitor display device to be monitored by an operator. The operator changes the attributes of the parameter until an optimum image is obtained. The optimum parameter is stored on a magnetic tape.
