Abstract: For a mapping application, a method for reporting a problem related to a map displayed by the mapping application is described. The method identifies a mode in which the mapping application is operating. The method identifies a set of types of problems to report based on the identified mode. The method displays, in a display area of the mapping application, a graphical user interface (GUI) page that includes a set of selectable user interface (UI) items that represent the identified set of types of problems.

Abstract: A method for providing a notification mechanism may include causing provision of a notification bar at an edge of a touch screen display in response to an occurrence of an event where the notification bar provides information indicative of the event, enabling, responsive to user input, extension of the notification bar away from the edge of the touch screen display to display one or more levels of other notification classes in addition to the information indicative of the event, causing presentation of the notification bar to remain in an extended position away from the edge of the touch screen display so as to display one or more levels of notification classes upon cessation of the user input and causing, responsive to exposure of each level that has a subsequent level thereafter, an indication of existence of the subsequent level. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.

Abstract: A spin control graphical user interface is used to display a currently applied option and to receive options from a user. The spin control is a circular graphical user interface that is positioned near a displayed document to which it applies. For example, the spin control may be positioned on or near a corner of the displayed document. The spin control comprises options that are presented to a user upon rotation of the spin control. An option may be manually selected or automatically selected and applied to the displayed document upon rotating the spin control clockwise or counterclockwise. More than one spin control may be associated with the displayed document. The spin control may be automatically shown and removed from a display in response to whether the document to which the spin control is attached is currently being displayed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for guided personal identity based actions are provided. In example embodiments, a user-specified action from a first user device of a first user is received. The user-specified action pertains to the first user and uses data of the first user when performed. The user-specified action is linked to an identifier. An indication of the identifier is received from a second user device of a second user. In response to receiving the indication of the identifier, the user-specified action linked to the identifier is identified, the data of the first user is accessed, a user interface that includes an option to perform the user-specified action using the data of the first user is generated, and the generated user interface is presented on the second user device.

Abstract: An industrial integrated development environment (IDE) comprises a development interface that affords a user a great deal of control over the editing tools, workspace canvases, and project information rendered at a given time. The industrial IDE system automatically filters the tools, panels, and information available for selection based on a current project development task, such that a focused subset of editing tools relevant to a current development task or context are made available for selection while other tools are hidden. The development interface also allows the user to selectively render or hide selected tools or information from among the relevant, filtered set of tools. This can reduce or eliminate unnecessary clutter and aid in quickly and easily locating and selecting a desired editing function. The IDE's development interface can also conform to a structured organization of workspace canvases and panels that facilitates intuitive workflow.

Abstract: A window in a multi-window display configuration is provided. A gaze of one or more users is directed at the window. The multi-window display configuration has a plurality of windows that are each configured to display corresponding content. Further, a window attribute of the window is modified based upon the gaze. In addition, a request for the content corresponding to the window is sent to a server. The content corresponding to the window is received from the server. The content corresponding to the window is then displayed according to the modified window attribute at the window.

Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) for a messaging or chat application on a mobile electronic device launches, responsive to user-selection of a particular message cell in the GUI, a contextual message overlaid on an underlying scrollable message board or list. The action menu comprises a preview area displaying a preview of message content of the selected message cell, and further comprises one or more user-selectable action items for executing respective corresponding user actions with respect to the selected message. The preview area is automatically scaled and positioned dependent on one or more attributes of the selected message cell.

Abstract: Graphical user interface (GUI) based systems and methods are disclosed for regionizing full-size process plant displays for rendering on mobile user interface devices. A regionizer application receives a full-size process plant display that graphically represents at least a portion of a process plant that includes graphic representations of a plurality of process plant entities. The regionizer app determines display region(s) of the full-size process plant display that define corresponding view portions of the full-size process plant display. The display regions are transmitted to a mobile user interface device for rendering by a mobile display navigation app. The GUI based systems and methods can also automatically detect graphical process control loop display portions within full-size process plant displays for rendering on mobile user interface devices.

One embodiment of the present invention is an apparatus for guiding driving with linguistic description of a destination, which is installed on a vehicle and guides driving by outputting a linguistic description of a destination building, wherein the apparatus sets a destination according to a command or input, receives appearance information of a building of the destination from a server, and represents and outputs the appearance information in a linguistic form.

Abstract: Provided is a method in a control system that is configured to provide command information to environmental adjustment equipment. The control system includes a plurality of user interface devices wherein each user interface device is configured to select an operating mode for a plurality of monitored areas in a building and wherein each user interface device is located in a different one of the monitored areas. The method comprises detecting a mode change request at a first user interface device for a first monitored area and executing the mode change request for the first monitored area while retaining a prior selected mode for another monitored area that was selected using a different user interface device when for each monitored area the environmental adjustment equipment includes a throttling device for controlling the flow of conditioned medium provided to the monitored area.

The events for a user-specified time period can be shown on a map along with information representing the popularity of the events. Thus, the user can choose to attend those events in the user's area which are more popular. The map can be displayed on a user device, such as a cellular telephone. In this manner, the user can more readily attend those particular events which the user is more likely to enjoy.

Responsive to determining that the selected photo is to be transformed, a transformed version of the photo image may be generated and displayed.
