  • Patent number: 10725648
Abstract: A method for contextual pressure-sensing input, includes determining context of a document being displayed to a user by a display of a user device. The display includes a pressure-sensing input module for detecting touch inputs. The method includes determining engagement level that indicates an amount of engagement of the user with the document. The method includes determining, based on the engagement level and on the context, a pressure input requirement for the document. The pressure input requirement indicates an amount of pressure needed to verify acknowledgement of the document by the user. The method also includes determining whether a user touch input detected at the display matches the pressure input requirement.

  • Patent number: 10656957
Abstract: An input method editor (IME) configured to provide language assistance across a plurality of applications is disclosed. In one example, the IME is adapted for use by English-as-a-second-language (ESL) users. In a specific example, language assistance may be provided by first detecting a need to suggest a substitute word to a user who is typing within an application. The detection may be based on a probability that a current word is in error. If a need is detected, a suggestion may be obtained for the word, such as from a cloud linguistic service or from a local lexicon and language-model, if network connectivity is poor. Once obtained, the suggestion may be displayed to the user in a non-intrusive manner by user interface element(s). Interaction with the user allows the user to accept or reject the suggestion, and perform other functions, such as relocating user interface elements utilized by the display.

  • Patent number: 10650590
Abstract: Methods and systems use a video sensor grid over an area, and extensive signal processing, to create a model-based view of reality. Grid-based synchronous capture, point cloud generation and refinement, morphology, polygonal tiling and surface representation, texture mapping, data compression, and system-level components for user-directed signal processing, is used to create, at user demand, a virtualized world, viewable from any location in an area, in any direction of gaze, at any time within an interval of capture. This data stream is transmitted for near-term network-based delivery, and 5G. Finally, that virtualized world, because it is inherently model-based, is integrated with augmentations (or deletions), creating a harmonized and photorealistic mix of real, and synthetic, worlds. This provides a fully immersive, mixed reality world, in which full interactivity, using gestures, is supported.
