  • Patent number: 10452412
Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) for presenting various data files and permitting users to interact with those data files. The GUI presents a variety of file identifiers, each file identifier associated with a data file, and permits the user to interact with data files by interacting with the file identifiers associated with those data files. Embodiments of the present invention identify individual data files using a plurality of time values, typically the time of the file's creation, the time of the file's access by a user, and the time of the creation of the particular copy of the file in the filesystem (a.k.a. “upload time”).

  • Patent number: 10430053
Abstract: An apparatus having an interactive display configured to display a first navigation user interface (UI) element in a first predetermined area of the interactive display, the first navigation UI element being an indicator for navigating forward one or more pages of the e-presentation, and memory configured to store an e-presentation including a plurality of pages, is disclosed. The apparatus displays a current page of the e-presentation, detects a first input from a user, makes a first determination that the first input initiated in the first predetermined area, in response to the first determination, display a second UI element on the interactive display, wherein the second UI element indicates a page immediately after the current page of the e-presentation, and make a second determination as to whether the first input exceeds a predetermined navigation threshold. When the first input exceeds the predetermined navigation threshold, the second UI element is updated.

  • Patent number: 10402159
Abstract: Described are techniques for enabling pointer devices to be used by users with vision impairment to interact with rendered content. Sounds may be output to a user to indicate the presence of one or more features within rendered content. Characteristics of the sounds may be used to indicate the position of the features within a user interface, the distance between the features and a pointer associated with a pointer device, and the direction of the features relative to the pointer. Sounds may also be used to indicate the type or size of rendered content. Responsive to the sounds, a user with impaired vision may manipulate the pointer device to reposition the pointer. Additional or modified sounds may be provided to the user based on the subsequent position of the pointer.

  • Patent number: 10389974
Abstract: Systems and methods for hosting a teleconference session are presented. One or more streams are received from a plurality of client computing devices at a server. The streams are combined to generate teleconference data. The teleconference data may be configured to display a first user interface arrangement in which a primary stream display area dominates a display with a secondary stream display area overlaid on the primary stream display area. The secondary stream display area may disappear after a period of time. The teleconference data may also be configured to display a second user interface arrangement in which the primary stream display area and secondary stream display area are displayed concurrently. A view control switch may be triggered to switch between the first and second user interface arrangement views.

  • Patent number: 10380555
Abstract: A method and system is provided for policy driven, online meeting updates during the course of an electronic meeting. The invention defines one or more groups of participants in an electronic meeting, and assigns a unique relative priority to each group of participants. Meeting events, such as slide changes or other data that is sent to the various participants for viewing, are transmitted to the various groups in a sequence ordered by the relative priorities assigned to the groups. Alternatively, the invention provides for randomly staggering the delivery of data to the various groups. Both embodiments alleviate the scalability problems that arise for electronic meetings having large numbers of participants.

  • Patent number: 10372314
Abstract: A display device includes an object detecting section, a display section, a gesture acceptance section, and a display control section. The object detecting section detects an object contained in display target data. The display control section determines whether the object detected by the object detecting section is present in, of the display target data, a range of data displayed as a display screen image on the display section, keeps the display section from displaying a scroll bar in presence of the object in the range of data, and allows the display section to display the scroll bar in absence of the object in the range of data.

  • Patent number: 10275148
Abstract: In an electronic device, a cover page of a first content item is displayed and a first swipe gesture in a first direction is detected. In response to detecting the first swipe gesture, the electronic device transitions from displaying the cover page to displaying the first content item. During the transition, a portion of the cover page and a portion of the first content item are simultaneously displayed. After the transitioning, the first content item is displayed, and a second swipe gesture is detected in a second direction substantially opposite to the first direction. In response to detecting the second swipe gesture, the electronic device transitions from displaying the first content item to displaying the cover page, during which the portion of the first content item and the portion of the cover page are simultaneously displayed.

  • Patent number: 10212056
Abstract: A graphical user interface system that visually represents a graph node having multiple input ports, and that automatically adjusts the number of input ports to the graph node as open input ports are connected to upstream graph node(s) and/or as used input ports are disconnected from upstream graph node(s). Upon detecting that a set of one or more input ports has just been connected to one or more upstream graph nodes, the system may automatically add one or more additional input ports to the visual representation of the graph node without explicit user instruction. Upon detecting that a set of one or more of the input ports has just been disconnected from one or more upstream graph nodes, the system may automatically remove the determined one or more input ports from the visual representation of the graph node.

  • Patent number: 10203758
Abstract: A computer apparatus is associated with a graphical display presenting at least one GUI-component adapted to be manipulated based on user-generated commands. An event engine is adapted to receive an eye-tracking data signal that describes a user's point of regard on the display. Based on the signal, the event engine produces a set of non-cursor controlling event output signals, which influence the at least one GUI-component. Each non-cursor controlling event output signal describes a particular aspect of the user's ocular activity in respect of the display. Initially, the event engine receives a control signal request from each of the at least one GUI-component. The control signal request defines a sub-set of the set of non-cursor controlling event output signals which is required by the particular GUI-component. The event engine delivers non-cursor controlling event output signals to the at least one GUI-component in accordance with each respective control signal request.

  • Patent number: 10175853
Abstract: A chain visualization shows cards representing first, second and third hierarchical data items from a database. The second data item descends from the first. The third descends from the second. The visualization shows an ancestors chain, a descendants chain, and an active item location where the chains meet. The visualization shows a card visually associated with the ancestors chain for the first data item, a card in the active item location for the second data item, and a card visually associated with the descendants chain for the third data item. The cards present information from the data items. When a card is activated, it moves to the active item location. A descendant data item, descending from the new active item, is retrieved from the database. A card representing the descendant data item is displayed as visually associated with the descendants chain.
