  • Patent number: 5084939
Abstract: A door dampening assembly for dampening the swinging motion of a vehicle door includes a timing plate, a mounting bracket, and an expandable and contractible link connected to and between the timing plate and the mounting bracket. Operator access doors on construction vehicles can cause damage to the door hinge, the door frame, or the door itself, if left unrestrained during swinging movement of the doors from an open position to a closed position. The subject dampening assembly allows the vehicle door to swing freely from a fully open position to a partially open position. The timing plate and the expandable and retractable link decelerate the door to a partially open positon, thereby preventing any damage to the door or other vehicle components.

  • Patent number: 4208897
Abstract: A process and device allows long as-cast billets to be extruded, with the help of a container which is divided into at least two segments which can be opened and closed radially with respect to the main axis. In the closed position, the segments grip the part of the billet inside the container and, as a result of a relative movement between a die mounted on a hollow stem, the said die is forced into a length of the billet inside the container as a result of which at least one section is extruded. On opening the segments, the billet is advanced to fill the container again whereupon the segments close, clamping onto the billet, and the extrusion sequence is repeated.

  • Patent number: 4206626
Abstract: In tube extrusion presses, there are two steps in production. Firstly, a mandrel pierces a hole through the center of a billet, the tip of the mandrel ending up just within the opening of the extrusion die. Secondly, the now hollow cylindrical billet is extruded through the die and over and around the tip of the mandrel to produce a tube. To limit the movement of the mandrel, stroke-limiting rods are provided which pass through bores in a part attached to the mandrel and in a fixed part of the press. The rods can be held fast in one or both of these bores, or released to slide through them, depending on the stage reached in the extrusion process.
