  • Patent number: 5217079
Abstract: A hydro-impulse screwing device comprises a rotary drive motor, a power source for the motor, a drive shaft, a pulsating hydraulic drive connecting the motor to the shaft and a power cut-off for the motor. The load at which the power cut-off functions is adjustable. The tool has a borehole extending through the length of the shaft, a conduit for conducting hydraulic fluid from the drive to the borehole, a valve in the borehole movable from a closed position to an open position in response to hydraulic pressure corresponding to a predetermined load to allow hydraulic pressure from the drive to actuate the power cut-off, a biassing element in the borehole for biassing the valve toward a closed position against the hydraulic pressure, wherein the force of the biassing element is adjusted at the end of the drive shaft to change the load at which the power cut-off operates.

  • Patent number: 5212886
Abstract: A chain saw in which a body having an engine, carburetor and throttle rod and a handle frame on which is located a fitting mounting a trigger are connected with each other though vibration damping members. The trigger is provided with a plurality of bends between a contact part and a finger grip so as to have a predetermined spring effect. The contact part is arranged in opposition to the end of the throttle rod and spaced from it. As contact part abuts the rod and the chain saw is flex the resilient spring effect from the bends reduces the vibration transmitted to the handle.

  • Patent number: 5213245
Abstract: An improved clear-wrap dispenser is provided which consists of a housing having a bottom wall, a front wall and a pair of side walls, so as to form a compartment therein with an open back and an open top. A generally U-shaped handle is pivotally mounted to the side walls of the housing, so that when in an upright position the handle can be gripped to carry the housing. A roll of clear-wrap is rotatably positioned within the compartment in the housing from the open back between the side walls, so as to be dispensed therefrom through the open top. A cutting blade is disposed within the housing along a top edge of the front wall. A mechanism is for retracting and extracting the cutting blade with respect to the top edge of the front wall of the housing by pivoting the handle on the side walls, so that when retracted the cutting blade will be safely stored and when extracted the cutting blade will be able to cut the clear-wrap being dispensed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5211094
Abstract: A base mount supports a secondary mount in surface facing relation and a pair of these mount assemblies are positioned in spaced relation to receive a pallet stringer between them. The mounts support circular cutter discs which are disposed in axially aligned pairs and also in laterally aligned pairs whereby to be capable of severing nails on opposite edges of a stringer in a single pass of a stringer through the space between the laterally spaced mounts. The base mounts support the secondary mounts and are capable of being retrofitted to existing machines. The base and secondary mounts are secured by cross plates that have a cutting edge to form a backup cutter for the cutter discs. The secondary mounts are hingedly supported on the base mounts by a cross hinge at the rear of the mounts and a spring and limit assembly is provided between the mounts to allow adjustment of the mounts for different dimensioned stringers.

  • Patent number: 5208984
Abstract: A multi-purpose scraping apparatus is disclosed which enables the interchangeability of scraping blades. The apparatus is made of a handle, a shank and a blade receiving assembly, the shank being interposed between the handle and the blade receiving assembly. The blade receiving assembly comprises a back plate, a spring plate, a spring tongue and means for securing the spring plate to the back plate. The spring tongue extends from the spring plate and provides means for moving the blade receiving assembly from a gripping position to a releasing position. The back plate and the spring plate are thus constructed and arranged to cooperatively engage a blade to be used with the apparatus and to bias the blade receiving assembly in the gripping position. Thus, the spring tongue is moveable to effect movement of the blade receiving assembly from the gripping position to the releasing position.
